I have mine 4 years now and we are so happy with ours. Prior to our ownership it had been shaved and given an epoxy treatment. They are a wonderful boat.
love this engine. buying a boat right now with a similar Perkins engine. tell me about those new engine mounts. can you please share a link for them? thanks
@@ralph9987 Our factory original engine mounts were fine when we sold the boat at 34 years old and 5,200 hours on the engines. We did our own maintenance on the engines and generator. Kept everything fresh and clean. I offer consulting if you want to talk about DIY on these engines including the exhaust elbows. In fact I have a few spare parts available if you are interested. Ask Captain Chris Vero Beach FL.
Happiness is a clean bilge! Looks great. I have the same Perkins T6-354's in my 41 Defevre. Mine issue a bit of white smoke. ( they show 1800 hrs.) How are yours after a rebuild? would love to see them run and what the exhaust smoke looks like.
Gord P this boat is owned by a client who had the rebuild while in Fort Pierce Florida. They are long gone as we posted this video in January of 2019. So I am unable to show you how the run. You may want to call a mechanic as the white smoke may be unburned fuel which can damage your rings and cylinder walls. Good luck with this. 👍🏼
Great video. We're looking for an EGA for a T63544M. 1982 Perkins, 185HP. Probably looking for two of them. Took the EGA off one and found that corrosion had created a hole. I'm sure the other one needs replacement as well. Any suggestions or recommendations? We live in Hawaii on the Island of Hawaii in Hilo. Thanks.
thanks for vid..fiberglass fuel tank? shouldnt that be replaced also also what do you recomend for diesel injector maintance one of the guys her uses seafoam ...thanks
lester wicklein fiberglass tanks are usually good for a very long time. It’s black iron and steel that you have to watch for rust. Re: injectors. Best to speak with a qualified mechanic. All engines are not equal.
Fantastic Gulfstar 44. Engine room envy. Sean
Tho this is a clients boat we also had a GS Motor Cruiser for 19 years. We loved The engine space.
Sean Carroll there are still a few out there but be aware of the blisters. We had our hull peeled and blistering repaired.

white smoke in a diesel is usually indicative of fuel that has not been burned, there's a variety of reasons that could cause that.
