Easy fit no soldering or heat bonding involved simply tape down into place, and will never fail again!
Just use 12mm clear scotch tape we have use yellow colour tape as it is easier to see in the video.

I've just installed the repair kit in my 208. Take your time and clean the contacts as described, ensure the ribbon is aligned carefully on the LCD. Fantastic kit. Thanks for the making it available. My cluster looks brand new!

The yellow tape looks like Kapton tape, used on military and avionics.Stable up to 750F.
Wow my 2005 Mercedes Benz e320 was running and driving great them one of my low beam lights went out so I went to AutoZone got the bulb and changed it myself then shortly afterwards the lights on my instrument cluster went out now at nights I can't see the instrument cluster so is this a fuse problem with something electrical or do I have to change out the entire instrument cluster?
I think he might have mixed up the left & right side when explaiing the circuit board contacts glue cleaning off with acetone. Mine had gray gunk on them before cleaning, and after cleaning came out really nice gold color. This makes more sense.

Hello. I recently sent a mail to you. Glad to also see you here. I have a 2004 mercedes benz viano. sometimes the display works properly but sometimes it's doesn't have enough light to read the data. Do i have to change the whole display? And if i do, is the part going to match my vehicle? And also, Do you ship to Turkey?

Got your ribbon kit - very fast postage and worked fine after I realised it wasn’t the sticky tape that helped make the contact but the pink rubbers on the dash parts pressing against it :)
My dash bulbs are a bit troublesome - didn’t work in some spots, so I replaced them - still didn’t work but came to life and stayed on properly after a drive... any reason why they might do that?
Are the bulb connections clean? Try a new set of bulbs, cheers
Can I use tape for original ribbon cables too or it is just the ones that you are using that are suitable with tape?

Can I ask you what sticky-tape or glue should be used to stick down the cable-tape, for both ends? I cannot see how just sticky tape can hold down the wire-tape when there is significant vibration and hot-cold conditions potentially dislodging it. Thanks.
The connection is made with pressure from the two pressure pads, affectedly making a sandwich once clipped together, the tape just holds the ribbon cable in place till that point. Cheers www.akspeedo.com/

Do you sell the middle lcd display with ribbon attached for a 2002 e320 W210? I did not see it on your website just the on for the 203.
cleve cummins No sorry, the problem is getting the little driver chip that is on the main screens ribbon cable (no longer made).
I clean the contacts on mine(w210 2002 e320) using acetone but they remain gold.are they suppose to be gold or silver?

How did you so easily pull off the black lcd cover? Mine will not come off on the smaller lcds.

I attempted this but had an issue with the needles not positioning correctly when reinstalled. I managed to get them to a point of relative accuracy, but the speedo now jumps in increments (at various speeds) rather than a constantly fluid motion. Any idea what could be causing this? The needles had no prior issues.

akspeedo I didn't purchase one of your kits so if you are unable to help me then I understand. The issue, however, is simply with the reinstallation of the gauge needles. Have you experienced any similar issues?
James Battaglia had the same issue, take them out and reinsert the needle gently, you pushed it in too far ! worked for me, just be gentle when pressing the needle back in ! that should fix it !

This question might have been answered already but just to be clear. Did you disconnect the battery before removing the cluster?

akspeedo Hi, I forgot and left my key in ignition when I plygged the unit back in. Nothing works. Is there anything I can do to "reset" it?
Re This would not have killed the dash, sounds like you have not reconnected the plugs on the rear of the speedometer correctly. Cheers

akspeedo hi. I have a question. when you repair dashboard during the process, you use yellow bands. What are they? And if the repair process must be together with yellow bands, how can I found them. Or they are ordinary sticky tapes as we known. I bought pixels for repair my w210 dashboard, but in boxing there have no yellow bands which you were used. Im waiting urgent answer.

Attention, même si elle est très utile, cette vidéo simplifie au maximum les phases de montage-démontage... Sans que ce soit impossible (je viens de le faire), ce n'est pas si simple... Il faut être très méticuleux.
