Hey Kym, hot tip on the meals when traveling with Singapore Airlines - you can take advantage of their “Book the Cook” service (at least 24 hrs in advance) to order delicious meals like Lobster Thermidor or even an actual Cheeseburger on some flights. 😉
In a previous life I worked with airports so your travel videos are great and remind me of the good old days, but without the jetlag and stress!

Ha ha...@3:00. The last time I was in Singapore airport I had lots of time on my hands so I decided to walk the length of Terminal 3 and 1. It's a bloody long way!
After 13 years working for Singapore Airlines, I still exclusively travel SQ when i fly. But business and first these days.
I love Singapore the airport, the country, the crew and SQ as an Airline. No company is perfect but Singapore Airlines try’s to look after it’s people.

Started well, but the technical dramas have left a very poor taste in my mouth
There is a certain amount of irony when you see fires springing up around the circuit.
Presumably since the track is on recovered rubbish dump is could be methane escaping or even as in canada under ground fires rising to the surface. It is not uncommon such fires burn for years at a time.
Nice video. My only complaint on the long-haul business seat is that the foot cubby hole is a little small for me. I’m 6’2” tall with size 12 (US) feet and I found it was difficult to fit those clown feet in the hole in any comfortable manner. As to the in-flight entertainment, I have terrible hearing. And where a lot of airlines don’t have much in the way of closed caption movies (at least in English), virtually the entire SQ catalog was closed captioned. Love them for that. Food-wise, they have some awesome Book the Cook meals in business.
At this point, Kym is not able to talk any negative points about the CCP. Thanks for the great videos!

I worked on the global advertising & branding on SIA for 6 years. I launched the F1 Grand Prix for the airline in 2014. That winner's trophy held up by the victors is my design. I can hand on heart say one of the airline's biggest complaint was the different Business Class seat offerings. When had 3 during my tenure...one offering was so old that each time they flew on routes longer than 4 hours they ended up reimbursing complaining passengers with free air miles. Have you reached PPS status on their FF Program you'll be treated like royalty even if you end up in economy...they will still make sure you are well looked after...and unlike Qantas, they will hardly ever give you a free upgrade...in all my years as a PPS flyer I was never ever given an upgrade. Whereas as a Platinum Qantas FF I usaully got upgraded 40% of the time...of course I would ask if there were any upgrades available and you'd be surprised how often I was upgraded from Bus to First purely because I asked...so don't be afraid to ask for the free upgrade.

As a Chinese passport holder, that’s the procedure of me applying visa for almost every country, including Australia, Uk, US and Europe

Just out of curiosity, how many pages are in your passport to accommodate all the visas and entry/exit stamps?
It’s a normal size passport, but I really need a physical Visa. I think I only get three or four per year.

As a 'tourist' I did the 2018 Shanghai GP.. no visa at all - used the transit without visa exception for a 6-day start, and travelled to Wuxi and Hangzhou as well. But takes some planning with flights (can't do a straight return)

Kym, that holding patten you were in is very common as you know, aircraft can be put into holding pattens for all manner of reasons.
If airport is busy, or maybe it’s an international airport with cargo planes they may get priority over other aircraft, or you may have smaller planes that land there at the same time, they may take priority of the bigger aircraft as bigger planes create more of a wake and so smaller planes getting caught up in that could be dangerous.
Back in the day, it was equally as difficult to visit Russia with all the protocols
Looks like you had a pretty good trip, a little harried at one point but you made it.On the the other hand I wouldn't blame you if you skipped China because of the hassle with paper work.
And on top of that the drama with getting pictures and videos uploaded given the Internet restrictions is mind-boggling

@@KymIllman The last time i took Qantas was in 2011. The A330 lost airspeed indication upon takeoff run and aborted the takeoff at BNE. Once brakes cooled and taxied back the crew duty period exceeded and i waited 8 hours for a replacement crew.
Yes Qantas is cheaper but the quality of the overall product and the safety issues.
SQ is my choice.

Personally, this regional concept is rather stupid, imo as they operate flights with regional cabins on 8-hour flights and many times also long haul cabins on flights less than 3hrs 🤔

Ever since that poor interaction with the girl (and a terrible apology) i've started to notice a lot of similar behavior. Like saying "whatever the hell that means" when she gave you the meal. The ego has grown out of control as well. Taking the photo of Carlos scar was another one. Very entitled behavior. I still watch b/c the quality is good but no longer subscribed. Kym has earned his success but needs to be more humble
