Would be helpful if you released more information on the full ingredient/contents of the purifying granules. Right now difficult to assess what exactly gets filtered out (and what does not)

The Aarke water purifier is the most beautiful water pitcher I've ever seen. It's sleek, modern, and ergonomic. This is a new product, however. Has there been any third party testing? The filter is filled with granules, of what, charcoal? The problem with granule filters is that when water filters down, channeling happens. Water finds the path of least resistance and if the water channels how much filtering is actually done? What particles and chemicals does the Aarke filter? For instance, how effective is the filter with lead and chlorine? The Aarke water purifier is awesome looking but I hope it's not just another pretty face.

Would love to know what is filtered and what testing has been done

Hey why when I try to use this water purifier some water goes through the perforations on a top of the filter's holder instead of going through the filter. Are there any parts missing in my package which are supposed to cover those holes?

We have evaluated many different water filters/purifiers in the past and this Aarke is not a new concept. Their web site is all sizzle and very little substance. Their 'enhanced' granules claim to reduce limescale by 80 to 100% ... that is clearly impossible and Trading Standards have been notified.
The ingredients used to 'filter' your tap water are inexpensive - a few £'s at most. Those clever marketing men wearing grey suits and designer stubble have produced an attractive and expensive looking device. This is a classic example of DISTRACTION MARKETING - ie., never mind how it performs, instead focus on the beautiful looks. Move on everyone, absolutely nothing to see here as they say in the movies!

Seems like a reasonable take but makes me wish we had the best of both worlds: quality design with innovative tech behind it. Maybe one day ~

Very briefly we see some 'granules' being added, then water. These granules are not new and they are very inexpensive to manufacture. They can only absorb a small amount of free & combined chlorine plus maybe a few heavy metals etc. The water needs to make contact with the granules for at least an hour or so to have any effect. We have tested similar devices in the past, they all failed to perform as well as even cheap active-carbon jug filters. Sooner or later, the user will drop this jug and then have to pick up a lot of shattered glass.... nice one!
This TV commercial style promo is designed to attract peeps with little ability to conduct any due diligence. Move on everyone.

Why would you drop the jug? There are advantages to using glass over plastic.

@@TwoLeftSh0es You don't understand. Some families have very young children, and/or adults that are clumsy. This jug is quite heavy when it contains water and will easily fall on a hard floor and shatter.
Solution: Look for Eastman Tritan, a BPA-free extremely tough impact-resistant material. Many quality bottles and containers are made from this food safe material. Get informed - you might be surprised at what you might discover.

@@return2earthvideochannelBPA-free plastics are often worse than BPA plastics because the replacement chemicals (often BPS or Tritan) are even worse for your health and for the environment. You are being misled by a corporate attempt to greenwash BPS and Tritan. These are unsafe materials which cause DNA damage, allergies, and act as excess estrogen in the body.
