Great play all-around. Nuss is a beast. Her attacks are amazing. I have to question the decision to display the score as two US flags. The teams are flipped back and forth from one side of the screen to the other, so (in these highlight clips at least) you can never tell who's in the lead. The only time the names of the players/teams are shown is at the end of each set. Really poor execution on the part of the broadcast team.
definitely not a lift on that last point, it was a double though -- I think it's the sidespin that got the call. we need a slow motion replay. ref motioned for a lift but I agree with the announcer that it's a double
It was all together as it was a horrible set... The referee has to say only 1 fault as both of them were made (very difficult to make worse)... It s difficult to say which of the 2 errors was made first.
@@reford285 whatever, there was 2 mistakes in 1 touch. The referee called 1 mistake as : it s not existing a gesture with : 2 faults in the same touch...
It's probably not the wrong call on a technical level: it likely was a fault. BUT refs are told to get looser and looser on judgment calls as the game gets down to business time. So, unless it was egregiously bad, they shouldn't have called it on match point. I personally don't like that philosophy, I think a fault should be called the same at point 1 or point 21, but obviously FIVB sees it differently.
bad set and not a lot of argument from Canon. looks like it slid through her hands a bit prompting the double. Lift or double for the call is appropriate. Just sucks that it happened at match point.

Terrible way to end the final match. Calling a lift/double on handset. 🤯😩
calling lift on final point on gold match is crazy

Eu tbm acho que vai ser uma final americana em Paris, mas também tem outras duplas fortes como a dupla da Letônia, Suiça e Holanda.

They also show the team colours next to the flags so it’s easy to follow if you notice that.
Congrats all USA Final
TERRIBLE Call by that ref on match point, that was ridiculous - Shame on her! Awesome Match all together though!
Assisti a esse jogo.
❤❤❤❤
I hope Cannon improves her passing.
A LIFT!?!?!? WHAT IN THE
They are trying to beat the wrong player. Nuss is the one to beat.

What a trash call on match point. Someone more versed in beach, correct me if I'm wrong.
