  • Ian and Roger stopped by and talked about why they hate the word "last", what they looking forward to in the not to distant and even in the distant future and the also tell us, why soundtechnicians never count to 3. These guys are not only legends but hilarious :)

Ian and Roger - what a class act!!! And not having your live show sounding like the recorded pieces - that's real musicianship!!! But then again - this is DEEP PURPLE!!! Cream of the crop!

Glad to see the band's approach to this, by hinting in a low-key manner that this tour will probably be the last, but leaving the final end date open. Much more classy than the way some bands conduct themselves by announcing farewell tours, then suddenly going back on their word. I'm sure Purple know the fans will be there for them for as long as they are willing (and able) to go on.

Deep Purple still makes great music. I like the bands attitude. The reverence the members have for the band and their music is awesome and I think little seen. I know in the 1960's we all hoped the music would never end. Most of us hoped the bands were around 5 years at least. I'm so glad that these bands are still being creative writing new music, recording, and touring some 50 years or more. I think we live in one of the most fertile and creative musical times in the history of the world.

What a tour with Edgar Winter-Alice Cooper-Deep Purple! Groups I loved then and still love now. Great vital bands all three of them. Thank you Deep Purple for a career that has not become old and moldy. I still loving seeing them. I agree I do not want an exact copy of the studio track played live. I love the jamming and the changes the band may add when they play live. Playing live is the payoff for all the hard work in the studio. Hard to find an interview with a band where you will find more humanity and honesty...and FUN. They encompass my feelings about music. They keep me wanting more...and I love it.

Wise words from some living legends and great musicians, I`m glad they are still touring and recording. They say they take a few years at the time, that si a good idea. Now there is anew alnum comming out, with show hoow great musicians they are.!
Deep purple and the members there has been a great inspiration for musicians for many years, almost no matter what style they play. On their conserts there is musicians who also come to watch their music idols to learn from that. Drummers, giutar players, bass players, and so on. And of course Ian Gillan has been a great inspiration for singers world wide, and still are.!
They also mention the wish to play and write that they still have, kind of the same feeling as in younger years. Great music is like wine, it keep its quality over the years..
They mention gospel chiors here, I grew up in one of those. There they also use songs from rock and pop bands, if the lyrics are good enough.! Also other chior use that kind of songs, and they are very populair.

I believe this great musician has been alongside with Ritchie Jon, Gillian, and always the thorough bred of Purple for me.Seeing Ian Paice back on stage with his magic sticks and beat gets Purple pulsating again like it was and always .Love the drumming on Fireball,Space Trucking,Highway Star, etc. Roger Glover is super trouper on bass .One of my favorites were Highwaystar, Never before,Black Night,Pictures of Home. Locks in well with Ian Paice',s drumming as well as great match fitting team.Paicey and Roger supply thunder and high voltage that alongside with Airey,Morse and Gillian keeps Purple a Power House and Highly Explosive piece!Rock on guys, life on a pleasure with souls on fire!

These guys are class acts. They are always given chances to rip Ritchie apart in interviews but choose the high road.
Everyone knows Ritchie is one of the biggest jackasses in the history of music by the way he treated the band and the fans.

Ritchie has acknowledged that he was an angry young man,and that this affected his dealings with people. He remembers being uptight at age 5 and does not understand why, where it came from. He himself asked, "what was happening psychologically then that I was so uptight?".

Ritchie is not a jackass at all, yeah he wasn't the easiest of people to deal with but that's the way he was/is, he is responsible for giving Deep Purple their most popular, successful and worldwide known songs. His approach on stage and performances were stunning, exciting and unpredictable, now they are so boring onstage it's unbelievable, this Steve Morse line up hasn't written one fucking hit or song that I can think of

Hardcore fan here.... who no longer goes to see my fave band, because I don’t need to hear them play SOTW or Highway Star again. Frankly, their rendition of those classics today is NOT up to the old performance standards, and therefore not all that thrilling to go see. Give me the new stuff, with an occasional dip into the back catalogue that they don’t ordinarily play. That would be worth spending my money to see.
