- we moved dorm rooms for the spring semester and decided to make another room tour. This time we gave a tour of the entire floor as well.
Wonderful video girls. My daughter is starting in August and the tour really helped my husband and I plan. Thank you!

When I move in, can I hang stuff with nails and screws on the wall or do I have to only tape things up???
you can only use command hooks and painters tape (regular tape could damage the paint)- for the new building. for the traditional building, you get a bulletin board where u can pin stuff up w thumbtacks
hey i recently got accepted and i was wondering what dorms you recommend for incoming freshmen unless we are put into a dorm. also what food plan do you recommend?
Congratulations!! Oh my gosh, I'm so excited!! You are able to choose which type of living situation you want, and then they would place you in the dorms that matches those descriptions. I recommend to get the lowest meal plan (140 swipes and 630 meal points) because I am in that plan, and last semester I had a lot of meal points left over as well as the swipes. -Hanna
I'm planning to applying to CPP next Fall for my Graduation in Computer Science
I wanna know about how's Computer Science there?
How's food inside the campus?
How's overall CPP? And is there anything i should know about before applying to CPP ..

tbh i have no idea abt the computer science grad program there. you can always look it up on the Cal Poly website.
the food inside the campus is really depends on the ppl. some likes it others not really. the dining hall basically offers the same food every time. the food court there are okay. if you like cooking your own food, there’s a market in the campus as well as a farm store.
overall i rlly enjoy cpp. the faculties are always helpful whenever i needed help or assistance. the staffs r friendly and the campus itself is pretty peaceful.
One thing you should find out is if the program you are applying for is impacted or not

do you know when they send how much you get for fafsa or cal grant?
I am not entirely sure when exactly you will be informed, but if you log into the Cal grant website later on nearing the fall semester you will most likely see how much you are eligible for. As for FAFSA, the amount will automatically be applied to your school's portal and you will have the opportunity to accept or deny the grant or loan they have offer.
It should take the school one to two weeks prior to the start of fall semester.

Can you ride your scooter to class? How are the bathrooms? How is the dining plan?
i use my scooter to go every places I go to in campus it's v useful to have so you don't have to walk everywhere since classes are usually far apart from each other and it's faster. The bathrooms are clean-- compared to high school's bathroom. I guess it really depends what building you're in. And for the dining plan, I applied for the cheapest option and it was more than enough for me. it was 140 meal swipes and 600+ (6 something meal points) and I would still have extras left over. It was amazing considering on how much I eat lols

Sesame StreetTV congrats on your acceptance!! So in the old buildings (Encinitas and montecitos) you share the bathroom with the entire wing on your floor. But I’m the new buildings you have assigned bathrooms and it is only you and seven others to share. There a pin that you will be given on the day you move in and that pin will get you inside your room and the bathroom.

MALAKA it is not hard to get into the dorms because freshmans are priority, it really depends when you applied for the housing is when they will place you in the dorms. Good luck to you! -Hanna

Hanna and Alyssa Since I’d be a freshman, would I be put into the new dorms or do they choose where freshman go? (I heard the old dorms got bad bugs). I’m also from the Bay Area, would I be able to bring my car if I dorm? How long is the winter break? Do a lot of people bike around campus (the campus looks big) because I want to bike but if no one bikes then I’m not going to bike LOL. Should I do the four year pledge thing? (I want to be on time to graduate even though that’s hard). Thanks for letting me ask (: sorry if it’s a lot

@@kat-zj1oh you will most likely be placed in the new dorms, but you may be asked regarding the dorming situation in your housing application (when you do apply). The old dorms aren't that bad, people exaggerate about the bugs, but I did not see much of the bugs they were complaining about.
I heard the Bay Area is really nice and yes, you are able to bring your car down. You will just need to purchase a parking permit so you'll be able to park on campus ground.
Winter break is roughly about a month. Mine was on December 10th- January 22nd many people have theirs from dec 15- jan 17. The start of your break will depend on what day your last class is.
Many people bike, skateboard, and electric and non electric scooter around campus. Make sure you have a lock for which ever you chose to bring. Campus is pretty big if you were to walk around. And don't worry, many people will be using bikes, scooters or skateboards.
I recommend you join the four year pledge thing because I believe they give you an advance spring classes registration (gets to choose classes earlier than everyone else). I think you'll be able to do 15 units (about 5 classes) per semester. I believe in you.
About the new dorms I am not quite sure if the prices are different from the old ones. Because we're currently paying the same amount as what we paid for the old buildings. But do expect that the prices will vary since there is now a single as well and not just a triple or a double.
