Thank you for bringing us this interesting video, you dealt with this problem very efficiently. It is a pity that the authorities had not put two drains here as it is collecting a lot of water. It was great that you had removed the leaves here. The authorities cannot be everywhere and the leaves can drop in a very short space of time so they are not always able to clear them up in time. I am sure that your community appreciate what you have done here.
A simple act of caring by helping clear drains can make a major difference to your community. Might consider a rack or potato rack. Keep up the awesome work.
City needs to take a vertical piece of wrapped rubber and place that near where the drain is. The rubber means that if someone hits it, the rubber will just bend. The wrapper can be white plastic (or more rubber) with appropriate colors on it according to the city code. This way you have a 2-3 foot tall obvious sign where the drain is located, instead of needing a stick and walking along the sidewalk
@John C Much easier to see a 2-3 foot tall piece of rubber sticking out of the ground, especially if it has been painted/sealed with a noticeable color
Well the Magic 🪄 Stick did the job! Great video! I think that Post 10 uses a wooden handle Bow Rake to clear drains and he also uses his feet!😁 You will get a lot of views and subscribers clearing drains like this so good luck 👍🏻 Thanks for sharing! Be safe and healthy 😷Take care!
Thing I noticed about American streets is that they have so few drains. So if one blocks, it causes problems. Maybe it doesn't rain as much as it does here in the UK?
Hi. From what I understand you could use the potatoe rake upside down so the back is down and rub it over the drain. No need for a new one. Also I guess people like the whirlpool. Even though it's noisey.😉 Great job keeping your neighborhood from flooding. It's good to raise awareness. I bet in the 40-50s people likely did this regularly. Nice video. Thank you. 👍👍👍👍👍😊
I feel as though that’s illegal in a lot of places, not to mention it’s just unsafe for both pedestrians and vehicles, since they wouldn’t be able to see the exposed drain pipe and move out of the way
@@DuncanEastwood I figured, but I think it’s still illegal, and there’s always that one knucklehead that sees a guy standing by a big puddle and thinks, “I’m going to splash him,” and if that manhole cover is gone, that idiot is probably going to sue somebody. Of course, those covers are also usually super heavy, like a few hundred pounds. No guarantee that he could move it in the first place
The sound is siphoning of the water into the whirlpool. Using a garden rake you can pull the leaves away from the drain with the flat side of the rake. A lot of water there probably too much for the drains with so many leaves. You live in a very pretty area.
Get a metal hook, made out of rebar, and just pick up the grate! The leaves will go down the drain, and when the water has drained, put the grate back down. You won't have to keep scraping the leaves and paper scraps away.
@0:41 sometimes it helps a broom. Simple. And please, work on your cameraskills. A viewer need a fixpoint/a horizon. If you are showing only water (@4:50), nobody knows where to look at. It's like waking up in complete darkness. You don't know, where you are.
That's crazy that the local city road crew can come by there and put up signs saying watch out for flooded streets but can't walk across the street and unblock the drainage line to keep the street clear from flooding out like that now
It looks miserable and cold. You've already had a frost? We are just now getting pretty cold. That was a big clog. A ton of water drained. Good neighbor. Even the drivers were careful to not splash you. Be careful.

@@fredfranklin8816 A person doesn't need classes on how to. It's not rocket science. Just common sense. And he used what he had and got the job done.
Great job!! Post 10 would be proud of you as well.
@Irish sixty six Fan still though
Your neighbors are lucky to have such a good man living there. Job well done!! And resourceful in your use of “tools”😂
It always amazes me how fast a flooded street drains once it’s cleared
Not huge amount of water, that's why :)
Excellent! I’m glad you’re putting your magic stick to good use! 😂
A magic stick is a friend to everyone!
post 10 has a rake. kenislovas has a magic stick
Comparing the size of their tools?
You’ve done a good job there 👍 leaves are a pain in the autumn. On the plus side we get to watch some good videos of people unblocking drains.
Must admit I love the drain unclogging the best…..thank you again for your videos ❤
Thank you so much for sharing this. One of my favorite types of videos. Great job Mantas
Great job.
Your neighbors appreciate it.
I guess so :)
Mr. Drain man never leave home without your trusty rake! Lol ! Great job
You and your magic stick did a great job. Chris from England 🏴
Thank You!
can you see someone doing that in england the police would be there and council would sue 🤔
Great job sir. More fun than pulling apart beaver dams! Big Al.
You and Post 10 should team up and clear all the drains in a town after the rain / storm.
The little whirlpool that tried. 😁😁😁😁 This is a quality addition to the Post 10 Wall of Drains. 😎😎👏🏻👏🏻

I'm waiting for Post10 to show up in the comments and recommend a rake for street drains like that.
I know what to use;)
Now that you know where the drain is, you can unclog it after every heavy rain. I'm sure that your neighbors will appreciate it!

@John C If the curb is underwater, that would make it harder to see the mark

What a beautiful neighborhood you live in … just like here in America. 👍👍👍👍😀😀😀😀

Samantha, I am from Lithuania not from USA ;)
@@Kenislovas lol. Well you guys need to install more drains too. That lovely brand new road ruined because it floods.
Goverment should do it:)
Those round drains don't have enough openings and are too narrow. Good job with the tool you had at hand. Did you do the other side of the street?
I imagined Mrs. Petrosius to live out in the boonies somewhere in a farm house with a barn. I was wrong. Ha
The sound of the water is so satisfying
Someone needs to get this gentleman a rake...

If your beaver dams were that easy it wouldn't be that much fun. Good job and good video of your work..
Thank You!
This really shows how important it is to clean up the leaves and not throw down small trash.
With out tools you done a great job 👏 like from Pakistan 🇵🇰
....good job , keep safe,,,,
Good job , now gave a Hot Toddy and look at some Post 10 videos for the right tools or stay inside and have anither one !!
This is oh the most satisfying video I ever saw!!
Looks like a strong broom would work on those drains.
I didn't know you did the Strom drains, and the beaver dams! Great way to stay in shape. Have a great day!
Thanks 👍
You should note down where all the drains are in your neighborhood so you can find them easily.
Using the stick to find the drain, so smart!
Good job man! Next time try to lift the metal lid up for a fast fix. If it fights you pry it with the pickaxe just don't damage the pickaxe 🤣
:DD

What a rookie flood! Fancy setting up right near post10’s house.
Divided by zero! So relaxing.
Great job, those drain covers are the worst design I've ever seen

Pick up cover, flip it and put back on drain. Come around after and flip them up
6:24 I love those sounds
Pretty good for just a stick 👍🇦🇺
Everyone should do the Post 10 challenge. This is awesome.
Greetings from the BIG SKY. Flooded out I see. You're getting wet, real good.
What do call it when post 10 uses hes feet to open a drain? Clog or unclog dancing but of course.😄
Sounded like the drain was gagging on the leaves, lol
Well done 👍
We literally need more people like him
Just use a rake mate like Post 10 does.
I haven't at that moment unfortunately..
Goo Job. I wonder if weather people added check your storm drain it would help?
So the drains are about 50 steps apart. Good planning by the city.
If you don't mind getting wet leaf blower pushes it out pretty good or a air chuck and a compressor
I think they need wider grates in the manhole cover though
Wrong drain covers on them. Maybe suggest to city or water dept to have them changed.
Great job with. Just a pole.
And the prize for the "Best neighbor 2021" goes to....
🇳🇱you need a rake look at post 10 on youtube who has experience greetings from a cold and wet Roosendaal in the Netherlands.

Water.....what water? Good job.
The magic stick 😳✨/✨
Good job my man :-)
Stick only stirs the leaves to easily reform the blockage… garden rake would remove the leaves etc…
Nice job!
Why don't they just put in open curb drains so nothing can get stuck?
You need to invest in a magic yard rake.
I don't know why you, Post10, and the others don't use a stiff broom to sweep the grates. seems to me it would be more effective.
I didn't have it at the time.. It was getting dark, so I have no time to bring it unfortunately. I know that there are many better tools ;)
The tool was wearing the boots.
If you put a magnet on the bottom of the stick it would be easier to find the metal grids
How tall are your boots?

yes!! its the euro post10!!
