We had 13 people on our boat baby that was literally just us!
@@CaseyWillax Was that 13 surfers plus the crew? I've been at a spot when two big boats arrived, approx 30 on each boat. Full of Russians, Israelies, Portugese or anyone that would pay, and they could stack on. Instant agro crowd that didn't give a rats about crowding the line-up. And their crew came out too! WTF! You know if you have a spot to yourself, it's only a matter of time before more arrive. (Just like in your next video) You just hope you have an experienced skipper who knows some spots that work in different swell directions and wind.

I stayed at the land camp maybe 5 years back. Was there for a week along with others including 2 brothers from the Sunshine Coast (Australia). The 2 brothers had no idea of what sharing means and they spent most of the day in the water - so that was frustrating (Eating at the same table was painful. They weren't friendly, so no "pleasant conversation") Just plain mean human bulldogs. Then a good swell arrived... along with 6 boats. The vibe wasn't evil, but the over representation of (even more) hungry Australians with no thought for anyone else was the final straw. I was happy to leave. Would like to go back - But you just don't know who you're going to be stuck with and how many boats will turn up. Macaroni's is the same issue. Land camp pro-wannabe's and boats galore.
I’ve felt similar vibes and encountered similar energies. I learned when you have a group of friends or even a boat of acquaintances your with, people don’t do that shit as much. Also, it’s so tough but being overly nice and complementing their waves after they surf acknowledging heavily that you saw them just get a really good wave and say that looked like so much fun, lets them ease up and let you get one. Kill em with kindness or just straight up call them out if that doesn’t work.
@@CaseyWillax Interesting take. But when they paddle past you and catch every set wave without even acknowledging that you are there (waiting for a wave), you never see their wave. Because you're never paddling back out to see it. I spent hours watching this. And sitting at the dinner table? No talk at all. Possibly the most socially inept pair you will ever witness. One day, in the water, the more annoying one even yelled at another land camper for dropping in! Considering they're taking every wave, what else could you do? I hope they read this - I'm sure they have a reputation. Someone in Sunshine Coast will know them.
