My Samsung Galaxy s5 got water damaged. All the buttons work, the lights light up, I still get noises for notifications, etc. But, the screen is completely black. Sometimes I can touch the screen and it is responsive, but most the time is not. The phone initially got damaged a few months ago, the water is dried up. What can I do to fix this? If you take the battery, doesn't the phone lose all power, so technically the phone won't turn on. Try this. Shut it off, hold power key, Homd button and the volume up key

Getoar Gashi Same. I charge the phone and I warm it up in my palm until it gets warm then I click on the side power button. then the display turns on after a few tries. then slide or give password and voila.
Thanks not only does this work on the s5 but it also worked on my girlfriend, I held down her power button for 1 min but still wasn't working properly but when I held down her power button for 2 mins straight she was functioning perfectly and like expected

+breanna breger the screen is burned out and will need to be replaced. I just went through this. if you have not registered your phone with Samsung do it now. put the purchase date as the day before and they will repair it for free. to replace it yourself it is over $100.

I do not have a black screen, everything shows up on my Samsung Phone screen, it is just unresponsive, anything you touch on the screen does not work. My phone did it again.. I tried this method 5 times, but the most iv gotten is a bad channel screen.. Like the blurry lines on a tv. I noticed if I push hard on the screen, where the cable is located, it will show the usual screens but as I let go, it freezes... Any solutions?
+Kyah Francis take a sewing needle and in the mid-top right corner where there is a small opening gently insert the needle and push down. It only moves it about the 3 millimeters but it will give you enough grab room.

I've tried mostly everything for my s5 and nothing works. Nothing turns on or vibrates. Idk if this helps but the charger that came with the phone doesn't plug in, but my s3 charger fits. I don't know if there's something stuck in there or if it would effect the phone at all. The man at my local Best Buy also used his battery to see if that would work, but still nothing. I haven't done anything to damage my phone, the screen just glitched out and permanently shut off after a year of having it.

It doesn't work for me, I think it's the LCD screen problem, I could only hear the sound of the phone when on and see the blue light from the notifications from whatsapp. It still happens to be blank/black . I had a dead screen on my s5 mini. I was able to locate where the connector under the screen was. Top right near the power button. I didn't need to remove the screen. Turns out the connector had just got dislodged when I dropped the phone. After pushing down on the screen at that point in the top right it reconnected and came back to life. Try that if these steps don't work!

I did it.. I remove my battery and put it on 7 times . i almost give up.. Suprisingly.. When the last try.. I open it and when i lokk at it its already working. Thnx to god.. Its working

i have a Galaxy S5, and it didnt work. It didnt get dropped or anything. the phone shocked me and went black. And i can see the lights, hear the sounds. nothing is working
My problem started with my S5 starting to slow down lagging apps and slow app starts and data loading. Then it wouldn't send texts when I hit send, I'd have to do it multiple times. Restarting didn't help. Then my touch screen started acting up I couldn't unlock it all the time. FInally one day when I would try to use it the buttons on the bottom would light up but the screen wouldn't come on. Tried restarting it and nothing. So I tried your trick and it didn't work. I had to do a master reset 4 times before it reset the phone. Now it works fine just like new. The operating system was corrupt is my best guess. There was no change in hardware or software for months before that.
How do you reconnect the cable to the screen. It works but no screen. I tried the upper right corner squeeze and it didn't work. Last time I took it in the guy said it came unplugged. He reconnected and worked just fine.
I tried all of these steps and it didn't work. I can get my galaxy s5 to begin the start up process - comes up with the galaxy logo but then goes black again, vibrates twice and keeps doing that on a loop over and over

All this does is discharge any remaining current in the circuits. I have this problem and I have pretty much given up hope now. The LED comes on and the lights at the bottom come on but the screen stays black. I hadn't dropped it or anything.

I fixed my galaxy s4 twice by leaving it on the charger for about 24 hours

My S5 will turn on if I take the battery out and put it back in but 5 to 10 mins later I get the same problem the screen freezes goes black but the phone is still running I trid this and it is still happening
I wonder, is this really a question of holding the power button or warming up the phone with the hand?

It doesn't work for me, I think it's the LCD screen problem, I could only hear the sound of the phone when on and see the blue light from the notifications from whatsapp. It still happens to be blank/black . I tried it many times , like taking the battery off several times but unfortunatly it still doesn't work . How long would it be to fix this at the repair shop? Like estimated time . Thanks!:)
I just bought a new battery and put it into my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone but the phone will not start at all even though it did 2 weeks ago but not recently. also I cannot get the sim card out and I did remove old battery and did remove sim card, I did hold on button on for one minute and did press power, volume down or volume up and home button etc. nothing works ? prior there was a boot loop and do not interrupt target and a lightning bolt but now nothing. The new battery comes with a small charge but when I put into phone nothing happens now and phone nor battery will charge?
i know nobody may see this, but i've tried it many times but it just vibrates. it stopped working when i dropped it at school, i've tried so many methods but it never works. help?

I had a dead screen on my s5 mini. I was able to locate where the connector under the screen was. Top right near the power button. I didn't need to remove the screen. Turns out the connector had just got dislodged when I dropped the phone. After pushing down on the screen at that point in the top right it reconnected and came back to life. Try that if these steps don't work!
Thats probably what happened to mine cuz i threw it and it stopped working

hey man, my Galaxy Amp 2 has been dropped numerous times. At first my problems started with my phone glitching out, flashing really quick, then the screen would go black and every time I would push the unlock button it would flash then unlock after pushing the unlock button countless times. I dropped it tonight and now it will turn on, I can hear it turn on but the screen isn't turning on. I've tried doing what was said in your video. Nothings working. please give some advice
I did it.. I remove my battery and put it on 7 times . i almost give up.. Suprisingly.. When the last try.. I open it and when i lokk at it its already working. Thnx to god.. Its working
and what if your screen is completely cracked, my phone fell screen first today and all i got is a black screen, i tried this but didn't work it only keeps vibrating and the led light flickers.
i drop my phone in the water, i let it dry, put in rice and stuff, but now i have the black screen, do you think this can work?
I have a black screen accompanied by a half/second flicker when it turns on and sometimes when i press the power or home buttons. I dropped the phone. I'm guessing something is loose.

All you need to do is warm the screen up. It appears to be an issue with the amoled panels not operating when they are too cold.
But if the power button dosen't work ¿ what other method is there to fix the black screen issue ? I connect my phone ,it vibrates,hear the logo music and the small lights go on but the screen remains the same.

i tried it with my Samsung Galaxy Note 3. It worked, however, when I press the power button to lock it, it goes back to black screen then I had to repeat the procedure. Please help
Mines worked Friday when I held the volume button down, then took the battery out. It did it today as well but turned off about 6 hours ago and won't come back on. The Samsung logo kept coming on and off about 3 hours ago, and now nothing works.

i have a Galaxy S5, and it didnt work. It didnt get dropped or anything. the phone shocked me and went black. And i can see the lights, hear the sounds. nothing is working
My problem started with my S5 starting to slow down lagging apps and slow app starts and data loading. Then it wouldn't send texts when I hit send, I'd have to do it multiple times. Restarting didn't help. Then my touch screen started acting up I couldn't unlock it all the time. FInally one day when I would try to use it the buttons on the bottom would light up but the screen wouldn't come on. Tried restarting it and nothing. So I tried your trick and it didn't work. I had to do a master reset 4 times before it reset the phone. Now it works fine just like new. The operating system was corrupt is my best guess. There was no change in hardware or software for months before that.

How do you reconnect the cable to the screen. It works but no screen. I tried the upper right corner squeeze and it didn't work. Last time I took it in the guy said it came unplugged. He reconnected and worked just fine.
My buttons, lights and sound work but no picture shows up is this the same issue or would it be a seperate issue

I tried all of these steps and it didn't work. I can get my galaxy s5 to begin the start up process - comes up with the galaxy logo but then goes black again, vibrates twice and keeps doing that on a loop over and over
my mini s 3 turns on 2 minuter everything works no call in or out: then screen turns black except for the top displying the battery date etc 2 minutes black ; then rebots nd turns off. this cycle continues when I start phone.

I can only hear vibrate for some reason, and after that a blue light flashes from the too left corner but it did not affect anything.
I need more help, I watch a lot if your videos, and tried everything. My s5 will vibrate and make sounds sometimes and will have a blue notification light. But the screen doesn't turn on. I tried holding the power button for 5 minutes with the battery in it and it still hasn't worked. Salon tried the volume down and power and still noting
All this does is discharge any remaining current in the circuits.
I have this problem and I have pretty much given up hope now.
The LED comes on and the lights at the bottom come on but the screen stays black.
I hadn't dropped it or anything.
