The Real Problems started after the Divorce In 1973, he didn't want it, he gave Priscilla the song "You were Always on My Mind, (according to Priscilla) hoping to get her back. Then he had some health problems including a Twisted colon, which was very painful. Doctors gave him pain killers. He was already going through bouts with depression and before you know it, everything began to spiral out of Control. The Doctor that kept him supplied with pain meds, eventually lost his license to practice medicine.
His Closest Friends, said he Loved her and wanted her back till the day he died, and Priscilla said he was the Love of her Life. Neither Ever Re Married.

Just an hour down the road from where I live, there's an annual Elvis festival. It's the largest in the southern hemisphere and attracts Elvis impersonators from all over the world. Goes for 5 days and now been 31 years since it started. Loads of people travel from all over Australia and other countries to attend. The town is called Parkes, in NSW, Australia. Population of just 6000 people.
I went this year and it's fabulous and loads of fun.
I'd say he's still as popular now as he was then. Cannot think of another artist who gets this much love so many decades after his death. Truly a legend and the GOAT.

Elvis's own father Vernon was 17 when he got married and started a family Priscillas own mother was 19 when she married and started a family. Elvis at 18-19 was trying to make money to marry his girlfriend at the time. So clearly the times were different.

Elvis did not perform a live concert between 1961 and 1969 - during this time he was making 3 movies a year and lived in California. In 1967 he married Priscilla who was nearly 22, he was 32. Nine months later their daughter Lisa was born on 1 Feb 68. In June 68 he recorded the Singer (Comeback) Show and this was the first time that Priscilla had seen him sing live. Priscilla remained at Graceland while Elvis was away making movies and then when Lisa came along she could not take her on the long trips to California (Elvis used to have a tour bus and drive all the way to California from Memphis). After Elvis finished the movies contracts and with the success of the Comeback Special Elvis was eager to do live performances again and in 1969 he appeared at the International Hotel, Las Vegas and normally did a month at a time in between tours that were subsequently booked - that was all that Elvis did perform at Vegas and then mini tours around America until the day he died - he was due to perform in Portland the day after he died!!!

She doesn't live there it's a museum now. Tho her daughter and her still go there and have dinners and special occasions. They are the only 2 people allowed upstairs. Is pricella and his daughter Lisa. Upstairs is cut off to the public. There is a woman that lives there as the director of the Presley estate and rubs the day to day tours. Graceland is the most visited mansion second to the white house. So it's important part of history. The reasoning that no one is allowed upstairs is because that was his private space from everyone and you had to be invited by Elvis to be allowed there. It's special

It was not only that girls threw themselves at him . Elvis loved women. He once said in an interview when he was Young ,when he got the question about which kind of girl he liked .” Female, Sir.” ”I like all kinds of girls,I like them all.” It started when he started out in the beginning.
And Joe esposito, one of Elvis’ long time close friends ,said that he schould’nt have been married, and that he also lost his marriage because of it . Because they were really bad. The women were married to them ,but not the other way around.
Former girlfriend Linda Thompson also said , in an interview with Larry King ,that there were always a new girl . Not the first year, though. She knew he was faithful, because they spent time 24/7.

People always forg3t that yes he was addicted to prescription drugs, but he did actually NEED those drugs. He had a lot of medical problems, including hypertrophy, a twisted colon, his organs had grown twice in size, unhealthy diet, and more. Ultimately he was prescribed drugs that helped each problem (drugs which were found in his immune system during the time of his death also) , but they were addictive drugs. He took them all at the same time which was dangerous, and dr nick was prescribing him with higher amounts than he should've. As well as this, elvis had trouble sleeping so relied on sleeping pills, but soon they didn't work as effectively so he ended up taking more, which led to him also needing pills to help him wake up. Truly disheartening to hear how his own doctor didn't do his job properly and save elvis. Back in the day people were too afraid to perform surgery on a superstar incase it went wrong, so they thought they could fix all elvis' problems with addictive medication :*(

Elvis, being who he was, should have never married...It would be impossible for ANYBODY to remain faithful with women always throwing themselves at them. A lot of his fans don't like Priscilla because she left Elvis , but she put up with a lifestyle that few have ever experienced . Elvis was Elvis, and nothing was going to change him , not even marriage...Priscilla has even said that her and Elvis had a better relationship being divorced. I believe they both truly did love each other, but being married was NEVER going to work for Elvis and his very unusual lifestyle. Give Priscilla some slack , she DID save Graceland from being sold and she has also worked hard to keep Elvis' legacy going .

A big pet peeve I have with her is that she acts like the divorce was a reaction to his infidelities yet fails to mention her own affairs. She cheated on him, the two were long divorced by the time he died and in fact, he was engaged to be married when he died so Priscilla would not have been the only woman he was married to if he lived even six more months. I'm not trying to take from the obvious love they shared but in your Elvis journey, I think you should know that Priscilla's words should always be given more context as she is not the credible source she appears at times.

I would rather live like Elvis did and die at 50, then live to be 100 and miserable. Elvi's management was reckless, and he should have made plenty of money on musical royalties and directed or acted in movies, which is something he wanted to do. He needed his colon operated on and to detox from all those drugs.
