Hi Dave, you are the best buncher operator on that job!!LOL!! Seriously though you really do a nice job my friend!! Hopefully it doesn't warm up there like it has down here. It was getting frozen down nicely. Then tonight is was 40 degrees at 5 PM tonight. Crazy weather!! Take care my friend!! Your friend Al.
Your weather is mimicking ours here in Alaska, coldest so far was -12°F and it's about 9°F now. We've had snow on the ground since October, but only about 6 inches, it just didn't melt. Have a great day.
You might have snow. We have rain. Last month we had 320mm plus of rain fall. A new record whoop whoop. Oh and a new record for mud levels too. Hang on it’s summer t8me here😜😜😜
My great great grandfather would have killed for that equipment. He did a little logging in your area. Check out the book on him. "Cutting across time".
So does the tree length go up to the falls or somewhere else. You need to crappy weather we had here last week cause no snow cover it froze the ground up pretty good around here. It never fails if it's nice and warm nothing breaks it colder out it never fails something goes wrong. Keep up the great videos
Hey, i found your channel 3 days ago and i absolutely love it! I just have one question as a non-logger, does your company harvest and transport the trees like a contractharvester does for a farmer or do you buy the trees from the landowners and sell them yourself so to speak?
David Haley no, I am wondering about the actual size. You guys cut trees down so short that they fit on the trailer sideways, instead of just cutting to fit long ways. I’m not sure how else to explain, it looks like rather than hauling 40ft logs you guys haul 8ft stuff and I am wondering why
The mills we deliver to are set up for 8 foot wood. They grind it or chip it to make their products. Fir are generally lumber quality so they want the longer lengths. Hope that helps.
David Haley okay, yeah was just wondering cause I heard in a couple of your videos you called it fire wood, and figured there was no way that firewood had that much profit in it lol but you never know till you ask.
absolutely love the videos dave keep the amazing work up!! exactly what i want to learn and watch from your videos much appreciation and love your way
Thank you Shane!!

Thanks Mike. Glad you enjoyed it.
Awesome video David. Just really enjoy your videos. You just show what's going on with out a lot of added baloney.
Well that's my strategy... But it leaves me full of bologna!

Yes it does sound similar. Someday I'd like to visit Alaska!!!
@@davidhaley7053 be careful about visiting, I came north for a job in 85, still here. It's the kind of place you either love or can't handle.
I'm guessing you love it ...
@@davidhaley7053 yep, Alaska is the only place I've stayed in for more than 3 years.
Great video and NICE Equipment !!!
Thanks man!
Nice welding got it all fixed up
Thanks William!
Great video Dave,That film crew though.😂😂😂

That's not a record that's fun to break!
I hope you have an ESPAR on every piece of equipment its one of the best things ever invented
They're great. Only half have heaters.

Thanks Kenny. The tree length will be slashed before it's hauled.
Kenny Mysak, yes whole POPLAR trees can go to International Falls; it just depends on the company.
Yup your Minnesotan not cold enough out. Well it's going to warm up a bit this weekend good luck
Yeah. Not good... Oh well.
Great video!!
Thanks Anthony. I'm not working very far from your work!
@@davidhaley7053 I'd like to come watch your operation....
Get my number from George and we could try to set something up someday.
@@davidhaley7053 sounds good Dave thanks
Nice
Thank you!
If we don't get any snow it will be a rough winter { lots of bouncing around ] Like them espars' ?
Yes I do like them!
Looking good Dave big piles when does pulp company pick them up?
It's our responsibility to get it to the mills.

Thank you very much. We do both. We buy our own stumpage to sell to mills and we cut stumpage owned by mills.
COOL!
Thanks James!
Where do you do most of your logging? What town or city do you live near? I live near Cloquet.
That delimber really can hammer through the wood! When does the loader and buck saw show up?
Yes it can. (It's there now)
Where at in mn? What do you do with the small trees?
North central. They're made into paper.
Do you log mostly for chips.
Mostly pulp.
Dean better slow down or he'll have to fire up the Timberking
That probably won't happen...
I have a question for ya, Just wondering why you guys cut the tree's down so short? Out here in the lad of the Doug Fir they run as long as possible.
Are you asking why this site was being harvested at such a young age? There was only a couple acres of it and they wanted the stand more even aged.

Do y'all haul the logs or somebody else haul for y'all?
We have trucks and also hire trucks.
Do you guys do mainly conventional or cut to length?
Mostly conventional.
Dale, I know that you would rather have the OLD GROWTH POPLAR TREE'S versus all of this CRAPPY POPLAR (that's all rotten)?
60 year old aspen would suit me just fine.
U can fire the camera guy if u can hire him back for less money
Yeah and make him get a good microphone too!
Ouch!
@@davidhaley7053 It won't hurt much!
