Thanks for the tip on the SC1 and CorrosionX. I'm going try to it. My last boat, I had a Yamaha and had nothing but trouble with it. Bought a Jon Boat with a Suzuki, never looked back. Their motors are phenomenal and boy, very quiet. Man, love your boat, that whole rear looks custom. Great review and keep those videos coming!
Pretty motor there, Bandit. I got worried about the bird nest and as soon as the video was over I walked out to my shop where I keep my Sea Hunt with a Yamaha 115 and took the cowl off to inspect. Fortunately nothing there! Always appreciate and look forward to your videos!
Thanks for all your videos on the Suzuki. I repowered my 22 Gulfcoast. Went with the 200 fly by wire thanks to you. Absolutely amazed. Smoothest running and quietest outboard ever. The Shaw wing …yep. Kevin at Fibertex in Corpus Christi makes these and is a good guy. Now if I just had the time to get out on water.
I just bought this motor at the fort Myers boat show today for my 22’ angler. Glad to hear you like it. I was worried about the torque because I’m going from a 225 6 cylinder merc to this. I hope it’s not too big of a difference. Super excited though!
hello Bayou thank you for all your videos on the suzuki 200 engine i am sixty years old and i have just passed my boat license this will help me a lot for maintenance. thanks again and congratulations for your investment and your sharing. thanks again jean from normandy france😀
I have the same 2023 200HP since 16 month now with almost 400 hours on a Boston Whaler Outrage 21, and this boat is flying , going offshore fishing for Tuna, Marlin , Wahoo and so on. I never used more than maybe 60-70% of the Power, because the tork of this engine is so strong, average consumption 1ltr/ Knot on cruising speed. Amazing solid engine, agree with you 100%!!
That same thing happens to me, they are Carolina Wrens where we live here in South Carolina and even after you clean the nest out and put the cover on, they’ll go and start nesting in the tea top. Covering the engine does keep them out and I stuffed pillows up in the tea top to fill the space where they try to nest and that seems to work OK.
So, I'm not the only one, lol! A cover would defiantly work, but I don't like a cover on my motor while on the water. As much as I use my boat, I would constantly be pulling it on and off.
I have a question for You: Can you please check tappet clearance now in 300 hours and make a video of it 🤗... Then it will be easy to all of us to maintain the whole outboard.
Hello, I seen your install Video of this Suzuki 200. I believe it was you and your Father installing outboard Question: Did Suzuki still cover warranty? After you installed outboard? I’ve seen that we can purchase an Outboard’s on web. But I was always told that a certification was needed to install
Hello friend! The propeller pitch is 20, and what is the propeller diameter? I have three blades. I go with a full load - 12 people. I want four blades. What do you advise?
My diameter is 15 1/4". It all depends on hull design and load, there will usually be some trial and error involved until you get the right prop. A 4 blade will improve hole shot and will allow you to stay on plane at a slower speed, but will run about 3-4 MPH slower than a 3 blade.
@@bayoubanditcharters I have a 16*20 propeller, the boat weighs 1100 kilograms. The engine spins at 6100 rpm. The maximum speed is 73 kilometers per hour. The boat is empty, I am alone. What speed did you accelerate to?
Only issue I have with my Suzuki 300 is that it’s making oil. I bought it with 100 hours. So can’t speak on the break in. My mech switched thermostats and type of oil and I’m running it harder. Seems better. I’m gonna fuel up wedn. Think I could add anything to help?
@@bayoubanditcharters it’s def slowed down since I’ve been running it harder. Only idling when docking. My mechanic is saying replacing Powerhead is the fix. So I’m keeping eye on it and running hard. Ty
Bought mine after you did your break in and review. Coming up on 100hr now and have no complaints!
Your video helped me show my friend how to service his new 200hp Suzuki and he saved huge $!

Thanks brother, my whole boat is custom built.

Just wondering how much your boat weighs?
Thanks brother!
I’ve honestly never weighed it, but it’s pretty heavy!

Good to know! I have an 89 Outrage 22 Cuddy WD and was considering this or a Yamaha.
What year is your outrage?
Thanks for another great video. Brand new Suzuki 115 going on my boat next week.
Heck yeah, you will love it brother!
You can’t beat them fantastic engines
I totally agree brother!

Dang birds, lol!
Thank you very much, it was a great video.
Thanks brother, appreciate your comment!
thanks for the video i have the same engine 2023 120 flawless hours did the 100 hour service our selves
I had the same problem with the birds, cheap cover off Amazon was my fix.
So, I'm not the only one, lol! A cover would defiantly work, but I don't like a cover on my motor while on the water. As much as I use my boat, I would constantly be pulling it on and off.
I use a rag or socks to keep birds out of the air intake. Just don't forget to remove them before heading out on the water.

I have the 150 APX

Yes, and you can also swing by a Suzuki dealer and let them check and approve your install
@@bayoubanditcharters great information, Thank You

Corrosion X is a winner.
Question for you Jody, if I get a rev limit alarm when I’m throttled all the way down for more than about 20 seconds, am I under propped?
Absolutely! The rev limit is 6200 RPM's on this motor, you should be between 5800 and 6200 at wide open throttle.
