jambajoby32 HA! God, that was me, and I’M cringing watching it now that you mention it!! It was also shocking to me how light that horn was. Felt great in the hands!
Just a heads up: You guys used the wrong intro text. I was expecting a video about Nicole's bassoon, and then I had the pleasure of listening to Doug sound like a million bucks plus interest. I don't think anybody was disappointed, though.

So he’s “third utility trumpet” in Oregon Symphony Orchestra. I can’t imagine what the first utility trumpet player sounds like! (I’ve never heard the term “utility” before, in terms of musicians.) Stellar musicianship, and what a sound! What a horn!
There is only one utility trumpet. Doug's position title should be written as "Third/Utility Trumpet." It isn't always the third trumpet that is utility. For example, Tage Larson is Fourth/Utility Trumpet in the Chicago Symphony. Here is some more info on what a utility trumpet does: www.trumpetherald.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1359824

Yes, we realized after the video was made that there was some old text from a different video accidentally included. Sorry about that!
