These starter decks are great, I've bought a couple to make decks with the core set and had no idea there was a manual hidden in the art lol
This looks pretty similar to Champions. Have you ever tried Warfighter? Stumbled on it recently and can’t stop playing it. Excellent solo mechanics.
Fantasy Flights progression of coop LCGs started here, then went to Arkham, and then Champions. So a lot of similarities ... but also a lot of changes, so going to rough rules wise for me. :)
I own Warfighter, but have not found the time to go through the rulebook. Maybe someone can teach me at GenCon. :)

Are these decks viable with small tweaks for any scenario, like the starter decks for the Arkham LCG? I never got into the LotR LCG since it required so much time and effort in deckbuilding and I just wanted to play...
I really haven't delved too deep into the game, but can say they are much better than the original "starter decks", but I'd assume depending on scenarios, some deck construction would be needed.
@@DaletheCasualGamer Gonna have to agree though I still love my Aragorn, Eowyn and Beravor Combo deck. it is literally cleaning house in multiple scenarios.

I think everything is a reprint (except campaign stuff in the bigger boxes).
I've been interested in picking up this game for a while. I used to play the old Lord of the Rings TCG quite a bit. Are you going to do a playthrough of the revised core (either with or without this)?
@Michael Wages I'll have a playthrough of the revised core campaign starting Friday ... and see how long I can keep the fellowship alive. :)

That starter deck looks well-built to help with 2-faction decks since some cards give you options to move resources around, especially when you can put them on your solo-faction hero to easily get cards out of his faction. I hope it's one of the decks you'll play with on your campaign, maybe also doing 2-handed with each of your 2 decks focusing on 2 factions each so that all 4 are featured in the videos (one uses green and red, while the other uses yellow and blue, as an example in terms of colors).
@Daniel Schaublin I've been hearing good things about this deck!! For the playthrough, I'll be staying with the core set, just to highlight what comes with that ... and playing solo. Not sure I could handle this game going two-handed like I do with Marvel Champions. :)

Had a lot of fun with this deck! Boromir is beast + 1atk and +1 willpower to everyone with visionary is insane! Defender of Rammas is sooo good.
I quickly swapped a hero for Beregond to have him use the gondorian shield for that juicy 6 def.
Btw the envoy of pelargir is misprinted, it should have 1 health but I don't care I play it with 2 :D
@aSyphodias A misprint in the revised edition!? Chances are I'll forget. Good to hear this is a fund deck. Did you get all the starter decks? If so, which do you like most?
@@DaletheCasualGamer I did get them all in the end. I'd say my least favourite was the dwarves. Rohan is also super fun with eomer and firefoot, might be favorite but Gondor is close. Elves is good but something about the playstyle did not grab me but I think most people love it.
Beregond + Boromir's Ability + Gondorian Shield is pretty much unkillable and a powerhouse.
This looks cool and the art on the cards is great!

@@DaletheCasualGamer I also used Miniature Market for games sometimes. They have great deals on board games, great customer service, and it's like the Amazon of board games, but they handing packing more effective than Amazon all the time.
I’m confident all these names and places are canon. Tolkien after all. But I shan’t pull out my copy of The Silmarillion to check the facts. I’ve become numb from the spill-and-spell nature of current fantasy.
It’s funny how, having never played this particular game, I can still see cards and think, “that one’s a trap”
