2022 Special Olympics NC Summer Games

The Special Olympics North Carolina Summer Games returned for the first time since 2019 June 3-5! Taking place in Raleigh, Cary and Holly Springs this weekend, nearly 900 Special Olympics athletes competed in seven sports.
www.sonc.net The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Special Olympics aims to combine high quality sports with a wide audience, and be a driving force for social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.
