Thanks for doing these kinds of videos. Even with critics, it's nice to have some options for non-eyewatering priced kites (students, normal people who maybe want an extra kite in their quiver). I like how you put everyone's opinion on their own. Right now I would'nt buy a paunch kite, but would probably try it if I started kiting as a student years ago.

@@OurKiteLife …and not to forget „Duotone DLAB“. Could mean: Light as a softkite but no swimming anymore if you catch a breeze after too long time drowning in the water… try them all 🙏🏼💪🏻
I ordered a 3m Genesis for my daughters few years ago to use as a trainer kite. The problem I see with Panch is quality control. Not bad for the price but very irregular construction.Out of the box, it's was terrible. I spoke to many owners and everytime, the problem is different from a kite to another. It took me a moment playing with ABC, front, rear line's ratio to get the best performance of this kite. And, it's not perfect. I can't use all the power/depower trim range. As you mention, that's not a beginner kite compare to my plug n' play CONCEPTAIR high end foil kites(and it's a local product !).
Nice range of opinions. I think a lot of people thinking about kiting look at the prices and think twice; but if they're dedicated try to get used or cheap equipment, not knowing where the difference can be critical. Did you guys all go to Cuba together? Nice to have such a group :-) I've only been on one group trip, and I was the oldest and least experienced. It was a nice trip / nice locations, though I wasn't quite in the same social niche (and with the pandemic pre-vaccine, different levels of concern for different age groups).
Thanks! Agreed - trying less expensive used gear is a better way to go than buying cheap gear. Yeah we did go together. Mostly local crew so it was pretty easy to plan. Nice thing about certain resorts in Cuba is that there’s usually a decent amount of kiters there to socialize with even if you don’t go with a group :)
@@OurKiteLife just curious how many of your interviewees out of the 5 own a Flysurfer kite already? I own 8m and 12m and no P. I realise you guys are biased for the reason you explained but do all the people interviewed already own Flysurfer? Feels like you’re asking Mercedes drivers if they like driving a Foton or Great Wall car.
We definitely hear you on this point. Out of the 5 in this video, 1 doesn't own a Flysurfer (he owns and flies LEIs, not foils). We can tell you we did try to involve other non-FS owners in this video but none of them took us up on the offer. Not sure if it's just general hesitation of flying foil kites, or perhaps discomfort with speaking on camera outside of our regular crew. It's something we're aware of and we do try to diversify the 'types' of riders, but it's not as easy as one may expect.
I had a Pansh 5 metre that I tried to use for landboarding. I found it very jerky compared to my 5m Rush. It had twin handles though whereas my Rush had a control bar so maybe that had something to do with it. In the end, I kept the Rush, sold the other one.
I just tried my 12m Pansh Aurora 3 foil kite here in South Padre TX and was really disappointed compared to my 9 m ozone hyperlite foil kite. The Aurora 3 had less power, was less stable deformed frequently in flight and It was a hard launch, I had to eject during one of the launches, which I so far have never done with my ozone hyperlite. I'm gonna agree with the people in your video who did not recommend this kite. I was just trying to get a cheaper kite but my opinioin is you get what you pay for.
Nice to see a Pansh on here, I’ve reviewed the genesis 6m on my channel and was fond of it for foiling. I think for the money you really can’t complain. Also had an aurora 2 and 3 and the higher aspect ratio means they are harder to fine tune for easy flying but once again they are super cheap. Ideal for foiling on a budget. I’ve flown plenty of Flysurfer gear, Peaks/Souls and Sonics. It’s obviously much better but you pay for that performance (Peak is good value though for foilers so I have one)
Test please Pansh Aurora, A15 and Genesis together in the size of 15m on water. I didn't find any infomative comparison between these 3 kites. I.e. Aurora - great low end, good lift but slow and have avarage/low stability especially in the corner of the wind window. Best for intermediate kitesurfing freeriders. A15 - stable, some faster than Aurora (like 20-30%) but generate less power for for m2. Also not stable in the wind window edges. Best for kitesurfing beginners and freestylers. Genesis - fast and stable, smooth in gusty winds, best of these 3 in the wind edges but it is also last of these 3 in power/m2 generation during the same movement speed. Best for foilers because delivering power smoothly. Some thing like that.
The Pansh Genisis 6m is my snowkite of choice... light, packs down well and easy to manage in big thick cold winds... have a 10m too with no complaints.
The aurora is not the best pansh kite in deed. The A15 need a modification to fly well ( jackomixer) but still is a Monster truck type kite and less power than a soul (12m soul=15m A15). The Genesis in small sizes (
Could you try the brand new Pansh Kestrel and tell us what you think ? Its designer says it is as good as a Soul or Sonic, haven't tried it myself yet. Avo
Hey Avo, thanks for the suggestion! We’ll look into the Kestrel - maybe film a review in the spring when more kiters/reviewers come out of hibernation :) cheers
I consider buying a foil kite, not necessarily PANSH, as an introduction to foil kiting (not foil board though) and I'm curious: is it the same criteria as it is when buying a normal LEI kite? I mean I'm about 68-72 kgs and I usually use a 10m LEI in my local conditions (14-22 kn most of the days). Should I also consider a 10m foil kite? Is it different for a foil kite? Are they less powerful than LEIs? Or are there more criteria to think about when choosing a foil kite? Thanks in advance. Awesome job. Keep it up guys!
Sorry, but you tested the wrong kite... Aurora is higher AR and has different goals than Soul. You should have chosen the A15 for comparison to Soul or Sonic to Aurora. Clearly the Aurora is not better than Sonic, too, but characteristics are closer. Aurora needs speed to build up power. Soul is more for beginner with brute force like tractor when starting but not much speed/power when getting faster. Both can be "good", depends on what you want. But if you compare, you should compare kites with same goals. Still I think the video is good. You were lucky with the Aurora it seems, some need some work on trim when you get it, but yours seems to work fine.
As mentioned in another comment the AR of these kites is almost exactly the same. And in the description of the Aurora III Pansh describes it as all “all round” performance good for kitesurfing, kiteboarding, land boarding and snowkiting. Not arguing that the A15 would’ve been the better choice to review (we hear the comments loud and clear lol), but for someone who is going off of what the manufacturer says and not forums, it’s fair to say that they may pick this kite for similar reasons that someone may pick a Soul.
@@OurKiteLife Yeah, I see. But I rode Soul, Sonic, Aurora and A15. And the Soul feels more similar to the A15 and the Aurora is more similar to Sonic. It seems it is not only AR. I always thought the Aurora has higher AR as it FEELS like that but never really compared. But you are right, they are close. I did not know or expect that. You need to ride Aurora more like the Sonic. Power is produced from Speed. Starting power is lesst than Soul.
@@OurKiteLife I’m looking to get a Pansh A15 15m (maybe 12m) or Genesis, if you will be doing an A15 UL review soon ? I will wait to buy after seeing your review. Sounds like the Ultra Light upgrade is the way to go with the A15. Thanks & great videos! Dave (Florida)
We are planning to but not sure exactly how soon we’ll be able to post the video. This time of year can also be harder for filming but we’ll do our best to get it done by spring :)
I still have the first 15m prototype aurora 1. It flew brilliantly from the bag. Confusingly the 8m was a bag of crap. Then I helped in a small capacity to develop the Cerberus and still have the 10m. Pansh can be massively hit n miss.
@@OurKiteLife they lack consistency in quality control and even communication with the customer service. If all kites flew as well as the ones I've had (bar 1) they would be a dominating brand just from the bargain they could represent. But they just dont.
The Aurora III looked like the newest kite - so we figured it would be the best one to try. Definitely seems like the A15 is worth trying based on the comments though!
@@OurKiteLife A3 is only a very slight update (added bridle lines in tipps, added internal bands, no real change in flight) to an older design. A15 is the latest design now available. Several new kites are ready, but not available, yet. I guess because of production issues.

You used a flysurfer bar, the back lines on the Pansh bar 8" shorter, it would hang at 12 and not much else. It did fly better on a Slingshot bar 23m, imo a waist of money.
Did I have right impression that all twintipers disliked the kite whereas the only guy that was foiling couldn't really complain? I mean it's a foiling kite after all... Most us will use LEI kite for twintip.
Hi Aleksandr. Are you interested in a Pansh Aurora III 12m2 Ultra Light? Originally I bought it to be able to kite on land under 10 knots. But the kite flies best in stable winds from 11 knots (according my experience). And this size of kite I don't dare to loop on land. So I just flew it several times, never crashed as I always flew in light winds; so it's pretty new.
@@shaa197 Thanks for the reply. Just an experience question: In which wind range (in knots) and for what are you using your Aurora? Foil, twintip, land?
@@balooa7133 I use my kite Aurora 2 only in winter and in the wind range from 4-4,5 to 14 knots. I use skis or snowboarding. In the summer I use kite Core and twintip.
For this price tag, there is no R/D, must only be making some profit from materials... Surely must be a copy? Are the other kites in their range similar price? Furthermore, only one of the testers was riding a foil for a foil kite? The flysurfer has got a great reputation for being a great crossover kite, but maybe this more foil specific?🤷♂
Could be the case! The Pansh website describes this particular kite as good all round performance for kitesurfing, kiteboarding, snowkiting and landboarding. In reality though it could be better suited for hydrofoiling
The best rider liked it and is doing awsome things with it… it proves the point that sharpening our skills goes a long way rather than trying to compensate with gear. Also he is foiling so if the power is much less than the shoul, than there you go. I think the Hawk is the Pansh kite that should be compared to the Soul, it might have helped the fellow who had issues launching it. In the summer I ride exclusively, Inflatables, I don’t care for how slow and non responsive the foil kites are. I think for the price, I might buy a pansh as a go to one size pull it out and go kite rather than dragging my tubes quiver. If less powerful, just take a bigger one…🤷🏻♂
Unfortunately, it seems Pansh do not phase out older models... and their marketing is very poor. From my reading their Genesis which had a refresh a few years ago is slow to turn but a good drifer so would be good in smaller sizes to compete with the FS Hybrid for hydrofoiling at a fraction of the price (or Peak but relaunchable as it has closed cells). Their newer models are designed by a Frenchman who is active on Kiteforum and Lezfoils forum. The Hawk he recommends in sizes up to 9m and the new Kestrel which is a higher aspect (6.4) 45 cell model for larger sizes. I suspect this is less powerful per m2 than the FS Soul but stable and quick to turn. I've ordered a 12m. The Aurora is an older design.
@@phildaintree2794 i bought the Hawk in 10m, cannot complain about the lowend, it was slow but pivotal turn around its axis so it dos not develop much if you steer it hard. No bad habits, tips remained well inflated and did not fold. I bought a different bar, 55cm low V instead of the Core bar, 50cm and à Y. I like it.
Thanks team for the review of the Pansh. I would not buy it. I have learned in my outdoor sports and activities to always go for quality over price. With quality the experience is better, 2ndly can be safer and 3rdly usually lasts longer which 1) better resell value and 2) cost difference narrows if quality product lasts longer. I am sure you can add to my points…
Those are all great points! We didn’t include it in the video, but I think if someone is on a budget it’s worth looking into high quality gently used kites
I am negatively impressed with the article. I find, a video published in a worldwide media, at least, disconcerting. You can't compare Soul's wing profile and in-flight behavior, performance and, handling and fine piloting, with an Aurora. They are for different programs. In addition the Soul, you fly it with your original bar and, to the Aurora , you adapt the flysurfer bar, at your discretion. It does not seem to me, that all riders are impartial, because they are not experts, in the handling and correct piloting of the foil kites. except: Nr. 1 You can not and should not create a current of opinion based on riders, also inexperienced in the handling and piloting of foil kites. In addition, the description and argumentation of this man, it is not at all instructive. Nr. 2 Well, it handles the foil kite like an LEI, that is, pull - pull of the bar, to "catch" wind, when, the foil kites, with more elongation, Aurora type, need to slide the kite, through the window of the wind and, at the exact moment, pull a little and, then, let it fly. I do not think that the opinion of this Rider with a VMG 1 or 2, and the twintip, gives him any positive feeling, except the realization that he does not know how to drive them. I have had and have pansh and, I have had and I have flysurfer. I am not moved by any commercial interest, but that people know more accurately, how much a kite of € 300 can offer. Health and luck Aloha 1) man with the prolimit impact vest 2)Man with black glasses and FCS hat.
This wasn’t a fair comparison, the aurora 3 is shit, was done after one from a friend. Wouldve been more objective if you did the a15 versus soul, it flies really well, comes close to a soul. However flysurfer soul is still king…
Ridiculous test. You compare a high AR vs. low AR. This test is not cheap vs. expensive. It just proofs how little you and the team seem to know about foilkites. You should compare apples to apples.
not sure what you are talking about, both Aurora and Soul have pretty similar AR (Aurora 5.6 vs Soul 5.5). Additionally, people compare sonics vs soul (low AR vs high AR) all the time. The issue is not kite specifics in this case, but the design and quality
@@OurKiteLife still the characteristics of the kites are very different. Aurora is not good for beginner, Soul is a beginner's kite. It's fine if you want to compare FreeRace to FreeRide to compare Sonic/Soul. But if you want to compare cheap to expensive both kites should be the same category. In this case most differences you saw are from different goals of the kite's design, not from quality. And on your choice to get thick lines and heavy cloth ;) But it's all well, some people on your group got it and some didn't. It's fine ;) I really liked how you let every opinion stand on it's own.

Im getting the 4m one! High winds! Land jumping! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Thanks for your review. After seeing a Ocean Rodeo Aluula and a Duotone SLS kite in the background I very much hope for a comparison and review of Softkite vs. lightweight LEI kite. 🙃🙃 I’m looking forward for that.
Not sure if we will have a video on it. We did talk to a few guys with OR Aluula kites on the beach but don’t know if it’s enough for a video.
Interesting. Really good how you moderate the different experiences from your group.
Thanks! We try to keep it balanced and real with multiple opinions :)
A15 ultralight is such a better kite I prefer flying compared to the soul but definitely less power.
We’ll have to review the A15 next!
@@OurKiteLife with and without the easy jackomixer mod on my channel. Also in 15m size the best imo it was the base model.
Please do. Longtime Pansh fan and gery happy with my A15 15m for $300 Aud ! 🤣
Agreed - you get what you pay for. That being said a lot of kiters rave about the Pansh Kestrel… we may review it this spring to see for ourselves :)
Would be nice to have my soul 2 this year, soo stoked! Shame mines on back order
Ahh, hope you get it soon!
I have never tried pansh but would say a new $300 pansh is a better kite than $300 used flysurfer or ozone.
Could be! Depends on how used the FS or Ozone kite is though
Thanks for the suggestion. We are hoping to review more Pansh kites this year
I was thinking for snow kiting it might be great. You might have to mess with it, but I bet you would have fun!
We’ll find out this winter - our friend bought it specifically for snowkiting so we’ll see how it goes!
The Pansh Genisis 6m is my snowkite of choice... light, packs down well and easy to manage in big thick cold winds... have a 10m too with no complaints.
Just bought the new North Orbits. Beautiful make and performance...big air
Nice, enjoy!!
The aurora is not the best pansh kite in deed. The A15 need a modification to fly well ( jackomixer) but still is a Monster truck type kite and less power than a soul (12m soul=15m A15). The Genesis in small sizes (
You tried the Kestrel?
Not yet!
Could you try the brand new Pansh Kestrel and tell us what you think ? Its designer says it is as good as a Soul or Sonic, haven't tried it myself yet.

Hey Avo, thanks for the suggestion! We’ll look into the Kestrel - maybe film a review in the spring when more kiters/reviewers come out of hibernation :) cheers
@@OurKiteLife I'll be waiting for it!
Nice review! Thank you, guys!!!
Glad you liked it 😊
Still waiting for the comparison of the Kitech FRS vs SOUL.
Hopefully we can make it happen soon!
Yes, the Kitech FRS is great for foiling. (havent used it on my TT)
Hi! Could you take a new model Kestrel from Pansh for review? I have one and I'm happy :)
Thanks for the suggestion, we’ll look into it :)
Hey, check out our video “5 things to know before buying your first foil kite” - this should hopefully help answer most of your questions :)

We are planning to but not sure exactly how soon we’ll be able to post the video. This time of year can also be harder for filming but we’ll do our best to get it done by spring :)
Time for a review of the new generation of Pansh kites. The Kestrel is reported to be a bog improvement over the Aurora
Agreed - we’ve heard good things about the Kestrel
I still have the first 15m prototype aurora 1. It flew brilliantly from the bag.
Confusingly the 8m was a bag of crap.
Then I helped in a small capacity to develop the Cerberus and still have the 10m.
Pansh can be massively hit n miss.
That’s what we have heard as well - that even within the same model and size there can be a lot of variation!
@@OurKiteLife they lack consistency in quality control and even communication with the customer service. If all kites flew as well as the ones I've had (bar 1) they would be a dominating brand just from the bargain they could represent. But they just dont.
Thank you for this review. Does anyone want to share his experience about the Genesis model? Thank you in advance.
Sorry, Rodrigo has already talked about his Genesis with 9m. Thank you Rodrigo.
Of the Pansh models, why did you choose the Aurora III? It seems a lot of Pansh-people prefer the A-15.
The Aurora III looked like the newest kite - so we figured it would be the best one to try. Definitely seems like the A15 is worth trying based on the comments though!
@@OurKiteLife When you do I will interested to see how you think they compare. Thanks for the great channel from Colorado!
@@OurKiteLife A3 is only a very slight update (added bridle lines in tipps, added internal bands, no real change in flight) to an older design. A15 is the latest design now available. Several new kites are ready, but not available, yet. I guess because of production issues.
Interesting video, thanks. My curiosity, where is this spot? It looks nice.
Most of the video was filmed in Cayo Coco, Cuba. We were staying at the Pullman Cayo Coco resort.

How does it compare to the Sonic? It feels more HR, so more similar to the Sonic than the Soul.
We love the Sonic3. I don’t think the Pansh comes even remotely close to the performance of the Sonic3.
I miss seeing the big kiter dude in your videos ... used to see him all the time at the Humber College launch site with his 21-speed ... can't remember his name ... I think he was from Russia or Czechoslovakia
Yeah a couple of the regulars moved away :(
I wouldn’t try it. As a beginner I’d go for a good used Soul to eliminate as many variables out of the equation. At least I’d know that it’s me and not the kite which is the problem.
I have the aurora III 8m and i'm very disappointed (it feel heavy in the bar) the deformation of the shape ...
Compare to my PeterLynn Nova or Aero V2 there is a ditch !
I recommande you to try a peterlynn kite and compare to the soul :)
Which Peter Lynn kite would you recommend? How do you find the Nova?
Can you buy the Peter Lynn? I want a fast winter kite for speed with my snow skis.
The aurora 2 was much much better.
Nothing beats the soul. Capa comes close .. but ?!?

It would be nice to have blind experiment
It would be great! But very difficult to actually execute. Would love it if brands would send us blank kites to test/compare but don’t think that will happen anytime soon

You should try the fly suffer vmg
It really doesn’t suit the style of riding we do!
Did I have right impression that all twintipers disliked the kite whereas the only guy that was foiling couldn't really complain? I mean it's a foiling kite after all... Most us will use LEI kite for twintip.

Definately for that money
Hello. I have Aurora 2, 12 m2. I'ts good kite. 👍
@@balooa7133 Hello Baloo A! Thank you for your offer. My Kite Aurora 2 suits me and in the near future I do not plan to change it.
@@OurKiteLife Great recommendation!
It does not seem to me, that all riders are impartial, because they are not experts, in the handling and correct piloting of the foil kites. except:
Nr. 1
You can not and should not create a current of opinion based on riders, also inexperienced in the handling and piloting of foil kites.
In addition, the description and argumentation of this man,
it is not at all instructive.
Nr. 2
Well, it handles the foil kite like an LEI, that is, pull - pull of the bar, to "catch" wind, when, the foil kites, with more elongation, Aurora type, need to slide the kite, through the window of the wind and, at the exact moment, pull a little and, then, let it fly.
Health and luck

This wasn’t a fair comparison, the aurora 3 is shit, was done after one from a friend. Wouldve been more objective if you did the a15 versus soul, it flies really well, comes close to a soul. However flysurfer soul is still king…

This strong accent speaking snob is absolutely unadequate in every vid. Zero objectiveness.
And on your choice to get thick lines and heavy cloth ;)
But it's all well, some people on your group got it and some didn't. It's fine ;) I really liked how you let every opinion stand on it's own.
