I grew up farming with Dad and 4 brothers in the 50's and early 60's, I still remember planting with stakes and wire, . We had pull- type combine and corn picker Every thing is history compared to your farming. I really enjoy watching you guys and the massive equipment. we had 250 Acers and I am thrilled with your large farm. I really enjoy Dougo when he has the camera -- and Chet you are amazing how versatile your knowledge and skills are. We also had hogs, but only 8 sows was our limit. As a high schooler who rode the dusty school bus (Well you know) chores were done before breakfast and supper. I hated hogs. We had 3 tractors, Alis Chalmers WC, Wd45, Oliver 880. I am globstruck with you Case IH quads. Love your channel, I have watched every episode at least twice and some many times. Keep it up and thank you..
Chet, you have captured a global audience through your enthusiasm about farming . Your an exceptionally talented young farmer who puts it on video. Thankyou . God bless Larson Farms Family.
Well, harvest is underway for 2022! Best of luck for a smooth and breakdown FREE Harvest! We farmed from 1974 to 1993. For me the most "fun" I had during harvest was climbing up on our grain dryer with a large bean can, scooping up a can full of beans and checking them for moisture! Then if the moisture checked out good.....I cooled the beans down and unloaded the beans into the bin! It was an exciting time! Dusty, very dusty, but exciting! Until your next video ~~~ Stay safe, healthy and happy! 🍁 🚜
Does anyone else want to see the big swed behind the wheel when harvesting his own soybeans and corn and Brody back in the grain cart. Also what is Randys job this harvest now that Brody is in the combine?
Ivers farms have an air compressor on their Case, then ran a pipe w/ a switch in the cab that blows the neck off. Pretty slick. Minnesota went from too wet to plant to too dry. Farmers work so hard to fine tune their operation, but can’t control the weather.
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Eric. Sorry you could not combine your beans. Am sure in another couple days you should be able to get them out. Slower harvesting with the moisture content. But sometimes that is just the way it goes. Believe you said you and Brody got out 175 acres which is not too bad. Am sure things will cooperate better soon and you can move right along. Can’t manage the weather although we would like to. You all hang in there. You all take care and be safe. Doing great on kicking out the videos at harvest time. Appreciate that. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything Chet. The Iowa farm boy.
Almost need a pitchfork to help clean off those headers. Yes, be careful with any dust on the farm. I had a cousin that developed farmer's lung that he eventually died from even after a double lung transplant. Keep up the good work!
We are in Pennsylvania. Almost always harvest beans higher moisture. At 15 %fans will knock it down no problem. Up to 17if it thrashes we go put on a little heat. Safe harvest guys
@@colorado1088 I haven’t seen them harvest beans. But, hay they use a bale builder that’s mechanical but not powered. No engine & they have a man riding back there to tip the bales out. 2 years ago, we were heading to the Amish/farm/greenhouse. Someone must’ve driven by just as they started swathing & tossed a cigarette into it went really fast(wind blowing toward the crop & houses) Buggies started rolling in, they were doing all they could to get the swathed hay away from it & loading bales on a wagon. Really really sad. That’s their live stock winter food. A discer would’ve probably saved a lot.
Pulled into 13% beans in the morning had sun and wind low 9%s by evening. Seen yeilds go up 20 bpa from one end of the through to the opposite end because of a shower at the right time. It happens especially on large fields. Have a safe harvest. Enjoy your videos.
I'm thinking those rain showers with lightning that skirt some fields get a boost from the lightning created nitrogen too which really affects yields more than just rain alone.
Yeah this year is not a good year soybean wise. However nothing in 2022 has been good. High gas/diesel prices and uncertain economy and just plain craziness. But that's how the world turns right now. We just gotta trust God. And pray 🙏 that we can endure what is going on. Things will get better. The soybeans will drop in moisture to acceptable levels and they will get harvested then the corn will get harvested. Then the season will end and then you get ready for planting for next season. Keep up the faith Larson family and know that things will always work out well in the end. God bless 🙌 🙏 ❤️
@WhatsApp👉𝟭𝟰𝟭𝟰𝟴𝟭𝟬𝟮𝟭𝟬𝟱 I must say, Dougo, that this set of digits is a wonderful combination. How on earth, or where ever Chet is from, did you find it?😉
you shoud add a camras to the grain cart espeshel to the back then eric can see when he backs up to the head trailer becuse we have one there and we love ares
Get yourselves a big trailer mounted air compressor. You don’t need pressure, just volume. You could run 2 hoses at one time, and blow everything off both machines each night.
Chet does that air manifold blow air over the feeder house keeping it clean ?? It doesn’t look like it works AT ALL ???? Maybe one on each side of the feeder house with a valve so you can choose which side blows ? Let me know what you think about the crary air flow over the feeder house ?? A waste of money adding the extra air manifold ?
Uff da, you aren't Norwegian, much, huh! Uff da, pretty much sums up a LOT of things. Hope your harvest goes well and you don't get any snow. After all it is Minnesota.
With the wind system on the heads could you not put an off take into it so that when you need to clean off you can attach a pipe and blow stuff off that way? Would mean only having the pipe with you, which could live somewhere on the head, rather than remembering to take a leaf blower with you each time.
I have never seen that type of scale used for a legit purpose. To get a reading below sensitivy, add beans until you get a reading and then divide to get a mean and multiply by 2 to achieve something that can scale up to a full section.
I guess I'm to old because a headland used to be where you laid out a divide in a field to work or plow the field and we called the end rows the end rows not the headlands
Better get those beans in BS your going to need extra cash at the Red Garter Saloon in Key West. Might deserve some warm sun at the Garden of Eden 3rd floor some things are optional!

We had a hard freeze here in Western Iowa about 10 days ago. Got down to 24*. Bean harvest is wrapping up and corn harvest is going hot n heavy. If the weather stays dry, like it has been all summer, harvest should be done in early November.

I'm going to guess he might be driving truck
Eric can't be trusted on the really big stuff.

Ya

Great video Chet and congratulations to you Eric on your fields. I truly enjoy all of your videos.
Great video Chet!! I always enjoy every one of them, but I love to see Toby!!
On your loss check. Add beans to get scale to read, divide out as needed, 2 beans in pan, add 18 divide by 10
awesome video Chet. Thank you guys for all the hard work
Dying to see the new overhead view of the farm. A lot has changed since your intro video.
Best Farm Channel on the Tube ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

@@bbrcummins1984 I agree. Wonderful family.
Good to see you getting started on the beans.
So you guys are working on the soybeans good job good job
Keep plugging away guys you’ll getter done. Stay safe and positive.
Get the milwaukee mini M18 leaf blower! Best thing ever to carry with in the cab! Nice small compact but plenty of power!

Most of the farms in my area in PA are Amish.
Same here . We harvest beans up to 16 % so we can get our wheat drilled early .

Hay Chet, I just want to say that I thought it was really nice of you to help out Cole the corn star with this combined settings.
I can tell those tracks are rough. I can even hear some squeaking from the cab as it's rolling. You're probably missing the tires for once lol.
Be fun to come visit one day!
I’m from Manitoba Canada 🇨🇦
Small farm .
Nice getting back to regular soybeans problemly will seem easy compared to the dirty black beans....corn must be getting ready also.....
Just in case you are unaware these videos were taped at least two weeks ago they are most likely in the middle of corn harvest by now.

Hello Big Zweed, collect 8 other beans you should be able to find in the field. Weigh all 10 and divide the result by 5. Use that number for your app.
Good idea- took me a minute to understand where you were going but makes sense
Good thinking jan
Yeah, where is the leaf blower? Leaf blower, water, fire extinguisher. Basic needs on a combine.
Great job guys!!🚜
Time for a new aerial picture of the farm
How meny beans hit that pan and bounced out. ?

Hows the pheasants lookin this yr

It's ok Erik they will dry up soon
Zach Johnson got a brand new john deere corn header
Eric don’t worry. They’ll dry down and you’ll get your payday buddy!
How did black bean harvest do
y cant u make a tube to come off the air bar that blows off the feeder house as u go that way it’s not so messy
Question? Is equipment theft from the fields at night a large problem?
Chet, for some of us new subscribers, can you explain the relationship between you, Eric and Brody? Great videos BTW!!
Eric is a good friend and hired hand...does a lot more than a typical hired man though. Brodie is also a hired man, but also Chet's uncle's son-in-law

Is the bean dust comparable to oats or barley dust? My experience with oats and barley was not fun. You tried not think about itching.
That weight device should measure in milligrams.
Milo is REALLY itchy! Left the window down once in the grain truck unloading...Never did that again.
There is a settin on the scale that you can change from 0.0 grams to 0.00 grams set it to 0.00 you get a reading
