Nice! Thanks for this breakdown! I've told people this concept before, genetics affect every variable in the result. Yield, fresh air demand, the environment that the mushrooms perform the best etc. Thanks for articulating this!

I'd really like to know exactly what it is about the bag that is different causing the lower yields. The results speak for themselves but there has to be a specific reason.

What's up willy. You got some sweet content. I've seen quite a few of your videos and it's all really helpful stuff. I actually just had my first tub of E4K and realized that strain actually came from you. Props bro.

I've had bags that didn't fruit at all! But the same genetics in a tub it was like a mushroom forest😮

i wonder if it could be surface area? maybe try a bag grow but with the bag laying down on its side to give it more surface area and slightly thinner thickness? it would be interesting to see if it then pins and fruits like a mono tub. cuz it seems to me thats the main difference between the 2.

There is a difference though. I guarantee if you pseudo case the bags like you do the tubs they will perform the same if not better.

I only wish I had seen this video a year ago! You can't imagine how many petri dishes, how many cultivation bags were wasted because I thought something was wrong, when in fact my genetics didn't like cultivation bags. Thanks! I was already thinking that I had lost my touch, that I was no longer a good cultivator. When in reality it was my genetics saying they didn't like the bag!

If you were to clone one of the fruits from the bag and culture out to inoculate another bag, I bet it would preform better next round

i spawned Estero into 8 dub tubs and got 3 fruits. i spawned 3 Texas Titans into the same dub tubs and had my first real Pan cyan success. i just decided i wouldn't grow Estero because it's too temperamental, but maybe i should do a small run with a tent, see if i can work it out.

if youre doing agar work correctly and have a proper labeling system, you dont need to be spending money on genetics every few months.

You should’ve use Max yield bins.. If you look at his design, he designed it that way for them to sell more filters.
Secondly, with them being a three-piece, you’re actually being able to put them in the tub put a flat top on them and stack several of them. I tried talking to Mike propose about this and that guy is nothing but rude. And then I kind of started looking at his design and figuring out his thought process. The guy sold filters for years. If you look at it, you have to plug where the filters go then you have to remove the plugs and put filters on well then when you use his tub again you’re gonna have to remove those filters. Stick the plugs back in. It’s just a horrible design, to make more money off filters.

Thanks man...always making sold contributions to the community. 1000% agree with and can't over stress the value of meticulous documentation no matter how much of a PITA is. From the agar carbohydrate to the fruiting process, every step and variable has influence. The only way to understand your babies is to know how they grew up. On the topic of genetics and helping people be successful cultivators, I did have an observation on a slight, but emerging trend, and one that might be adding some confusion and frustration for people. It is the term "mono". With the explosion of people doing genetic isolations, the term "mono" now has at least 3 popular meanings (these definitions are for unfamiliar readers, not you :) 1) mono as in the fruiting tub, 2) mono as a monoculture or one genetic variation (as you used it), and 3) mono as a monokaryon - a type of mycelium that cannot fruit. It is this last one that is the issue. I'm seeing this more often in various Discords and forums where people were repeatedly having healthy tubs or bags but no fruits. In several cases, they had bought "monos" thinking they were a monoculture and did not understand that they were monokaryons designed for mating and other research. This is confusion is exacerbated by the fluid descriptive language of genetics sellers. Not sure if you talk about this much in your content but might be something worth noting. Anyway, thanks again for your great content over the years and good luck!

I found out how vast the difference in genetics can be by using a single multispore syringe in 3 different bags. One grew tiny fruits, one grew fewer large fruits, and the 3rd was in the middle.

@@zachhabdhand9933 exactly. There were at least 2 different phenotypes of the same strain. One for smaller but numerous fruits, and one for fewer massive fruits
