School bus ride home in the 90's, listening to Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Hootie, Blind Melon, Collective Soul, Metallica, Weezer on our cassette or CD walkman's hoping it doesn't skip too much. Hop off the bus, run home and grab the bike, ride around for awhile with friends, maybe play some basketball, street hockey or rollerblading or skateboarding, some Hacky sack. Maybe a trip out into the woods to explore. Head home for dinner around 5-6pm and chow down real fast so you could go back outside until 7 or 8...or at least until the streetlights came on. Man, I miss those days so much.

Unlike the GARBAGE they throw at you these days. I hope this song makes an impression on you and has an impact in shaping YOU into a great person for the future. We are going to NEED a lot of great people in the future to fix a lot of what will soon be broken. Check out Dave Mathews Band as well. They have a song called "Crash"...that's a good starting point. But cheers Youngstar

Its not gone. It can be hard to find but ill do you a solid and throw you a couple of bones. Now im making a total assumption that you enjoy music that has heart. Has soul. And it wouldnt suck if it moved your soul a bit. Maybe disrupted your breathing every time you hear it. Not once or twice but every time you hear the first couple of chords? If i missed it with these suggestions i apologize but ill bet money others curious to see what im talking about will feel what i feel. 1. The Tesky Brothers Hold Me live at the forum. 2. Cookin on 3 burners sweet talker featuring Stella angellico 3. Cookin on 3 burners More than a mouthful feat Kylie Auldist. Now i will say these arent pop groups. Then again cookin on 3 burners might blow your mind if you search hard enough. They cannot be placed in a genre of music. These soulful aussies are as comfortable playing with rappers or all instumental jazz. 3 guys in that little room putting out the cleanest music. Throw a bit more at you. Kylie is aboriginal heritage who walked half way across australia to hear and learn her soulful sound. Stella? Oh my damn. My future ex wife. Shes a model. Song writer. Singer. Owns a artisan cookie company. A published author. And can make your hair stand up. The teskys? More aussies. Jimmy barnes turned me onto joshs soulful vocals. If none of these were your thing. Sorry. I tried. Its prob more than any stranger has tried to do for ya in quite a while

When I was 12 or so, I had a lot of health complications and spent months in the hospital. I had the amazing opportunity to meet Darius (who is a local) just chilling and playing guitar for all the kids in the large activity room there.
I had no idea at the time who he was, but I remember being the only kid to sit down in front of him and just vibe out and listen to him strum and sing some songs. I was astounded by how good he was, I think I even said something like "you could be famous or something!" lol. We spent a good while talking, exchanging stories, and he had the biggest heart and warmth of anyone I've ever met.
When I told my mom who I met, she lost her mind being such a big fan. She explained who he was and I started listening to his music, I've never been able to live down that I got to meet Darius Rucker and she didn't haha.
Growing up, he had a big impact on me that someone could be so successful but also so down to earth and generous that he'd spend his free time volunteering at a children's hospital. He never mentioned his fame to me and was totally content just relaxing and playing wonderful background music for the kids playing there. I hope I can always embody that warmth and humility.

Just a brilliant, catchy, eternally young song that is perfectly constructed in every way. The soundtrack to a really happy time for me growing up, at university and finding my feet in the world.
