For me, the video would be enhanced if there was a live concept map being developed in parallel with the discussion, shown on right side of the screen. This would allow me to see where you’ve been and how the ideas fit together.
This looks so fascinating! Many apps, including Obsidian and our own Remnote (formerly), operate on a similar principle of linking information together, and if you think about it, it's a logical approach, isn't it? Knowledge isn't siloed, regardless of where it came from. Everything is interconnected, which makes this feature particularly valuable. I'll definitely check Mem further!
Reach out with any questions. the main thing to keep in mind here is that all of this contingent on the knowledge you add. But the more you add, the better it will get.
Maybe I’m just dumb but I have no fucking clue what I just watched. I’m just considering the transition from Evernote to Obsidian so I thought this would be relevant to that decision, but this preso was so haphazard and rushed that I really don’t have any clue how to begin a comparison based on this.
I got a similar impression. Having tried a few different options for Second Brain software, I've decided to continue with Obsidian and have been using it for a while. If you're already considering transitioning to Obsidian, I recommend going with that. It has the same basic benefits as Mem like the global search, cross-linking, etc., but also a lot more practical features and customizability that Mem doesn't have. If you have any questions about Obsidian, feel free to ask! I'll do my best to answer & provide resources if that would be helpful.
True, this was very all over the place and without some defined direction (not yet, anyway, since it's part 1). However, I don't know why you would be basing your decision to switch from software A to software B by watching a video about software C.
Mem has been aa revelation to me in the last year or so! For an unorganized who likes to be organized, Mem is heaven on earth. Still lacks having good note taking qualities though. Very rough.
Maybe some feedback for the next video. Please start with: who is this dude, what is the software for, what is he using it for before showing me randomly how to create notes in a software i dont understand
Those empty "notes"/"tags" are similar to Obisidan/Logseq notes/pages, which are grayed out (not really created) 🤔 But, yeah, very impressive with the help of AI 😎
Rao is moving much too fast for me. It's as though he's talking just to you and not to us. Needs reminders of what we are looking at, which is what Tiago keeps trying to do.
What's the biggest problem that still has to be solved by these 2nd brain apps? I'm not sure about the obvious benefits beyond being another slightly cleaner standard of encapsulating the extensions of your first brain.
It resurfaces similar notes based on the current you’re writing or reviewing, provides generative AI based on your knowledge base of notes, and you can organize your notes in collections. It can also suggest the tags for your notes.
Tana needs to rewrite their backend, release a mobile (not capture) app and charge for use first. There's no point in making it more popular at this stage, it's beta and requires additional steps to get in.
Billion dollar global insight for real life, movie, anime, or thesis to feedback to management and max profits. Sales and marketing problem - Mr Srini Rao is no double knowledgeable and have great technical skills. Perhaps with decades of hard work, that’s why his face looks tired with heavy black eye bags. The problem is viewers (most customers like a pretty or handsome face and sex sells) feel demotivated when looking at Srini Rao (no offence, please see this as goodwill feedback). This is not a live on stage speech. Thus the host - Tiago could prepare a script, with pre-prepared answers from the interviewee, which Srini can type and reply to the questions posed by Tiago using his expert knowledge. Then hire a “temp sales rep” or someone working in his company with excellent communication skills and looks attractive to perform the recorded interview with the host using the Q&A script. You don’t sell million dollar luxury cars or see Apple retail stores being staffed by unattractive or unkept homeless people right. Real life is harsh.
These two are weird for me. Is Rao Indian? Did he had good sleep past years? Or was he busy taking notes without sleep? And the other guy, is he caucasian? He looks Chinese for a second. I'm very confused

guys you’re no longer owning remnote? what happened?

I was thinking about the exact same thing.
For me, it felt as "yet another note-taking app where you can reference other notes"
I hope I'm wrong.

My point was C entered the decision process for B. Was that really so hard to grasp? @@Gigusx
@@hostnik777 Yes. It happens when people don't express themselves properly.
Looks like a really productive notetaking application. Currently using Obsidian myself, but going to try Mem out for sure!
Can't wait for Part 2. Really have me curious about Mem now.

Awesome video 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you 🤗
I've been looking for something just like this. Just signed up for paid account.
Feel free to reach out with any questions. It's got a bit of a learning curve. But once you add about 50 notes the magic kicks in:)

Simply incredible 😲

you need to do an overview for the xtiles app
Cool - thanks
9:19 this is cool if it is using the other connected notes. I'll wait heptabase to have this.

Slow down speed on UA-cam
Yes, it's infuriating. He is no clearer when you slow him down!

Semantic search.

I wish notion Ai had mems Ai featutes
You have yet to try Tana
I switched from obsidian.
❤❤❤❤❤
I really don’t like the fact that you can’t reference the backlinks in a similar way that you can do in Roam.
can't try without giving credit card data...thanks...
This guys getting famous partially because he looks like elon musk.
Absolutely
na I didn't even see it until reading your comment
When Tana?

Mem is a no for me simply from the sign up process. If I have to use Google or Microsoft just to use it, nope.

I'm curious, why does this matter?
