- Having residency in Panama when you're over 55 opens up a BIG door to fly for way less.
And for anyone who can’t escape the winter, this is a great choice to help you get through it.

It's one of the most excellent videos I have seen in a while. Thank you for doing this.
Thanks for doing this folks. We've been wondering how it will work and this was very well presented. Cheers
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching, John.
we used the discount to travel to Mexico in June. There was a problem with the website, but we found that by going to the COPA office on Calle 50 (near Starbucks) everything was sorted out easily and quickly.
Amazing 😊
Thanks
Thanks for watching 😊
You guys are awesome, thank you!
Wonderful explanation...thanks so much.
Hi Jan. Thanks for watching 😊
Great info, thank you
Hi Kelly. You’re so welcome ☺️
Do you notice the price being that much cheaper if you for example used United to go to the US from Panama City?
I ran a few trips online (Orbitz, Cheapoair, Copa, Air Canada). All the typical sites were around the same price. Copa's price was equal or a little bit more than what those sites were asking (hard to nail down prices because some had free seats or baggage and others didn't - so you had to add those in as extras). But then Copa's price drops 25% (on the flight, not the taxes too) when they give you the pensionado discount.
if i flight to Cuba the pricelock doesn't appear. I called them but i still don't know how to do it
Thank you for the video, but I thought the 25% discount was applied on all flights originating in Panama regardless of the airline and not only on Copa Airlines. How could an airline decline a request for the discount if you have a visa and are a resident over the age of 60?
Actually I thought and was told the same thing.
You're correct. You can (supposed to) get the discount on all airlines with flights from Panama. We only did this one because others may have to go through a travel agent, or you need to go to their offices, or not be available from out of the country (on the phone) etc. Copa's is cut and dry and can all be done on the website from anywhere in the world. And, as they mention, they'll do it 'into' Panama not just 'from' Panama. It was an easier explanation and way to show how to get the discount. I've read on blogs where United will also do it but how is nowhere on their website, nor info on how to pull that off.
@@laptopseniors thanks for the clarification. I believe all the other airlines only offer the discount for flights originating in Panama. I am only 55, so who knows what the rules will be in 5 years.
Hello! Thanks for your informative videoclip. I would ask your kind opinion if there is a discount for other kinds of Permanent Residency Visa, such as Friendly Nations Visa. Thanks!
I would err on the right side and book a whole week before the flight.
Or more normally. Thanks for watching 😊
