    What kind of movie or franchise do you want to see John Krasinski direct next?
    One: Speak up and join the conversation- we encourage respectful debate.
    Two: Respect your community- racism, misogyny, homophobia and hate speech aren’t tolerated.
    Three: “Be nice.” - Dalton from Roadhouse

      Darth Kamen That bugged me to no end. Sigh. That and the corn in the silo acting as though there was a void at the bottom to allow sinking. Corn doesn’t act like that. It’s not like quicksand. If it showed a kid accidentally turning a valve to let some out, I’d not be as bothered (although they’d not displace enough quickly enough to sink like that, but still it’s a nod to physics!). And risking having a kid when even conception could be deadly, depending, is just.... I mean.... they make a fine couple, lol, but I’d prefer to stay alive and not risk an unmonitored pregnancy (and the way she was bleeding was not normal so really it should have not had a happy ending with a live happy baby) and then a possible unaided birth and then raising a kid in quiet! I remembered how they’d have to drug kids or babies in the Underground Railroad, or a few times they were inadvertently smothered trying to keep them quiet to keep everyone from being found and captured. It’s just... a bad bad bad idea on so many levels.

    -Rip to everyone in the movie with allergies, no matter how quiet you are, your sneezes will kill you.
    -I was curious about the snapping part too, maybe it depends on how far away they are?
    -Also the wife was the most badass in the whole movie. She was in labor, stuck her foot on a nail and stuck in a house with a killer alien and she did all that without making a single noise.

      Yeah it's more than just sneezes if you think about it. No coughing, snoring, hiccups, burping, farting, ANY, er, bathroom... stuff whatsoever. God forbid you get a cold or something, or eat some bad food. You couldn't realistically live, which is why I like the Honest Trailer basically says "if you don't think about it too hard". It's the only way to enjoy the movie.

      Yeah! Makes me wonder if the rest of the world is either hidden away underground, dead, or is actually surviving because they figured out how to fend off the creatures. Like, the human body makes so many sounds we don't notice. Just imagine you skip lunch and you're walking home and your stomach growls just a little too loudly. Dead!

    The reason they didmt live next to the waterfall is because building a house requires materials and you cant get those without making sound. Also the farm that they live on already had an entire crop system.

    • @marcaveli7791
      @marcaveli7791 6 років тому +7

      But they could have developed countless sound generating devices around them with all the electricity they were using to power countless lights and monitors

    • @JilliWanKenobi
      @JilliWanKenobi 6 років тому +5

      Another reason not to live near the river is the possibility of flooding. They wouldn't want to live close enough to the river for it to flood their house, and at that point, it may be too far from the river for it to provide much noise cover.

    • @noahwindhouwer2977
      @noahwindhouwer2977 6 років тому +3

      Marcaveli7 but if they would use those devices the aliens would have come to the perimeter. By using lights as comunication and moniters they were able to saty quite keeping the larger groups of aliens not interested in their area. And thus they had minimal activity

    • @ShokuaK
      @ShokuaK 5 років тому +5

      Marcaveli7 The waterfall is a natural sound that the creatures must have had enough time to realize wasn't worth running to. A bunch of noisy machines something new they'd come to investigate. They would've made for a better distraction than the fireworks though.

    • @goneyon
      @goneyon 5 років тому +2

      @ShokuaK Not worth the risk. The creatures probably reproduce, and they operate solely by echolocation in order to murder, so they probably aren't smart enough to pass knowledge onto their kids. Every new creature would investigate the waterfall by itself, so living next to it would be a constant hazard.
      Even if this isn't the case, how would you be alerted if a creature did happen to approach for any reason? The waterfall would ruin any chance of being warned beforehand. Better to live in a soundless environment, even if that means giving up conveniences in life.

      I personally like looking at people's shoes and their eyes. It's harder to get away with looking at eyes though, it's a little to obvious.

    this movie would've been great if it didn't drive home the point that children serve no purpose in movies but to make it difficult for everyone to survive. literally every bad thing in this movie happened because of the presence of children.
