Look the top 4 are improving. City has been investing and has an identity. Tottenham are making a new stadium to compete at the top level. Liverpool are makimg good signings and are a threat. Man U are slowly improving from their abysmal few years in the League. Chelsea are gonna sack Conte and challenge for the League like they always do. I understand wanting to compete for the Premier League, but hate it when anyone belittles cup wins. Winning three FA Cups in five years isn't a bad thing. Winning the Europa League and getting into the Champions League would be another major achievement.

DT is absolutely right about everything going Man City's way this season. A last minute deflected winner against Bournemouth, red card for Sadio Mane, countless winners in the final 2-3 mins of matches and a missed penalty by Palace. Add on top of that the fact that they never picked up any injuries to key players like De Bruyne or Silva. City are a very good team, but this is a freak season.

Wrong there DT. Chelsea didn't win the league the following season after winning the UCL. They won the EL after dropping from UCL. Get your facts right mate. Chelsea finished 6th and won the UCL. Chelsea finished 3rd and won the EL. They finished 3rd the following season as well. And then they won the league the next season in 14/15. In the 11/12 season, City won the league. In 12/13, United won the league. In 13/14, City won again. In 14/15, Chelsea won the league. 15/16 season, Leicester won it. 16/17 Chelsea again but no European football. 17/18, City champions elect.
DT - You can't just dismiss an argument by saying 'that's just playing devil's advocate'...... Yes, Robbie is playing Devil's advocate.... and that's a very important thing to do. If you're going to argue something... put forward a; point, idea, plan, etc.... then you need to look at that from all angles.... you don't just get to say 'Well, that's just playing devil's advocate' and have the argument disappear.
The self sustaining model will be very beneficial in the long run. But there needs to be ambition on the pitch.

Premier League or Champions League are the real trophies. Beside winning the other trophies once in a while you must win one of the 2 big prices. We are talking about Arsenal FC here. And if a manager don't win it you have too change the manager. I support Real Madrid since I was 10 (1996). I can't remember how many managers we had. But I do remember winning 6 Champions Leagues and 7 League titles. You can critisise Perez but he know what is important. He doesn't only care about making profit. He enjoys winning the big trophies.
The answer to every point you guys raised here is employing a director of football. The Bayern Munich model works perfectly and they've been solid for 30+ years.
In the modern era, big clubs need a director of football with a long-term plan for the club. A guy who knows the club's history, style of play and expectations of the owners and fans (Patrick Vieira, for example). He'd oversee all transfers, wouldn't allow the current manager to buy or sell players if it isn't in the club's long-term interest.
If you do that, you can maintain stability and still change managers every 3 years, bring in fresh ideas and keep a competitive edge.
Sorry for the essay but it's the only way forward for all top clubs.

If Kroenke would've supported Arsenal like Abramovich supported Chelsea over these last 10 years, then maybe Arsenal could've better competed with Chelsea. On the contrary, Arsenal have had to sell their best players in order to buy good players. We bought Ozil, Sanchez, Aubameyang, etc but with money generated by the Arsenal FC itself. Kroenke hasn't put a dime into the club. As a matter of fact, Kroenke siphons £3m every year from the club for "consulting fees". This guy is a parasite and I rather have him leave first before Wenger.

Walcott, Chamberlain both left after not improving. Wilshere hasn't improved. Bellerin and iwobi broke into the team but have become average. Mustafi got worse. Ozil went from the best no10 in the world to an inconsistent player who's scapegoated regularly. What's any of that got to do with Kroenke or the board? Wenger has good players, but hasn't developed them, used them well together or coached them well enough. He makes the choices of coaching staff, we thought Steve Bould would help but the defense has actually gotten worse in the last 2 years. The gk coach oh my God, turned Cech into a terrible keeper. Robbie HAS to play Devils Advocate when interviewing such a strong and vocal 'Wenger Out' fan. If he interviewed Ty he would be acting the opposite way and being so Wenger In. It makes for an interesting podcast and expresses why DT so strongly believes Wenger should go and DT can argue his case to those that still want Wenger to stay. Robbie isn't like this with Troopz etc. Because he doesn't need to be.
