VOICE COACH REACTS | Slaughter to Prevail... BABA YAGA | the most russian video i have ever seen...

- Welcome!
Today's video is a reaction and breakdown of Slaughter to Prevail's newest release Baba Yaga. For those of you unfamiliar with Baba Yaga, she is a significant figure in slavic folklore. Presented as an old woman (or three sisters) her thing is eating people, mostly children. Join me in diving into this gory song from Slaughter to Prevail to see if there is any connection to the folklore and, of course, to hear what we hear from Alex Terrible's incredible harsh vocals.
If you enjoyed this video please like, sub and hit the bell (if you want to).

OMG you first who say BABA YAGA right!

Ur a Legend🙏
Didn’t take long for Alex to show up! What up dude!
thanks :) and thank you for the awesome song man, it was wild from start to finish.
p.s where did you get the bear? it's adorable.
You guys are awesome, hope you tour the U.S soon.
holy moly the BEAR IS REAL. I REPEAT. THE BEAR IS REAL.
As you said, most Russian video EVAR lol
He was so excited to meet Alex. 😂🙃
And he's cute as hell
I guess the bear is his pet.
Yes, he is real :)
She does the stinkface, she's one of us!!🤘
Julia evolving into a metalhead is my favorite plotline.
Character development.
Yesssssss
That’s been my favorite thing about watching reaction videos! Watching all of them slowly becoming fans of the genre!
I think Julia is turning into a metal head. That’s so awesome!
Time 9.28, She could feel that drop the way it's meant to be felt🤘
She obviously likes the sound :)
It true, when you can't explain what you are hearing or feeling but it's speaking to you, it's too late, your one of us🤘🔥😈
We surely will embrace her in our lovely community. She is awesome!
I've long held that anyone who really appreciates music in general would appreciate metal if they just gave it a real chance. I base that on how, if you work the other way around, so many metalheads are also really into classical or any other prime examples from other genres, from Johnny Cash to Miles Davis.
I figure Alex just has very unique anatomy. He always screws up his nose in a way to make that space cavernous as well as his mouth and just creates a vortex in there, so rare to get that level of demon in a vocalist so effortlessly
He talks about it on his channel.
i haven't listened to a lot of other harsh vocalists to compare but it's still impressive the sounds he makes so consistently
@@Madison.CRUZ. i'll have to check that out then!
He definitely does, he's one of the few vocalists blessed with uniqueness. He's a lot like Corey Taylor!
@@Duskwalker68 Russian corey taylor. Korey taylorich!
Have we created a new metal head? Give it a few months and we’ll have Julia growling along with Alex!
Dude I think we have! Soon she'll be jamming MGLA at the gym.
@@highandtight5544 haha yeah man. Let’s see if Infant Annihilator make an appearance on the channel.
Yes LOL
Just like with the Demolisher reaction, it's not everyone's cup of tea but I love that you view it as something new to explore rather than avoid/trash. Always fun watching someone try to navigate these unfamiliar sounds
"Bears, and tanks, and rocket launchers, oh my!" - Wizard of Ozcow
From freaking out about Demolisher to head banging and air drumming during a breakdown, complete with stank face. You're officially a metalhead.
Alex has been checking out a lot of these reactions. Hope he sees this one.
He did!
He commented 😛
Slaughter to Prevail sound like they're morphing into a newer heavier version of Slipknot!
Honestly theyre one of tbe few bands that im just absolutely here for all of it!
I was just thinking the same thing!
It was my first time hearing them. That´s some hot shit! But after I heard it a few times, i don´t think that they are heavier than Slipknot. It´s just the first shock that makes you believe they are heavier than Slipknot.
A bit. Alex Terrible loves Slipknot, and definitely takes influence from Corey Taylor. This song reminds a bit of Slipknot circa 2001.
YA ain't wrong... Also, check out Tallah Matriphagy- great mix of SLipknot and KoRn type sounds.
She's really getting the faces right during the breakdown especially lmao, I think she's becoming a metal head!
She even gave it the stank face seal of approval
When they go stank face you know you've got them hooked
YO! This song is NUTS! I totally relate to your reaction at 9:30 😂
Hey Mark! :) my face couldn’t help itself.
One word: Spiritbox
Gotta start checking out Spiritbox.
"Circle With Me" specifically, but yeah, Spiritbox needs to happen.
And rule of nines! I also really like perennial too!
Yes, just wanted to leave a comment with the same thing
I wanted to start to invite to Spiritbox with iwrestledabearonce on this one 😀 do rule of nines julia ! ✌
Definitely Belcarra, Mara 2 or Beauty of Suffering
Yep. She’s definitely a metalhead now. The transition from her Jinjer reaction to this one is just beautiful 🤩
"Classy look but headbanging to Slaughter to Prevail"
every metal-guy dream girl.
Yagá.. almost all native English speakers stress the first syllable, but Julia puts the stress on the second, and rightly so! Молодец ❤️
Yaga would be pronounced yAyGa in English although their might be a tendancy to also pronounce it yAyGar. Another way of looking at it would be combining the word Ya with ga which would be pronounced YarGur. It would likely be pronounced that way with some of the regional accents in the South West of England but it is unlikely to be pronounced that way anywhere else.
What does Molodec mean? Btw im Serbian
@@damnjanivanovic6413 Zdravo, Damnjan! Literally, it's a 'good girl' or a 'good guy', but in this context it will just be 'great' or 'well done'.

Omg, your face during the breakdown, that's says it all!!
She pronounced “Baba Yaga” exactly how it’s pronounced in Russian, I’m impressed ! 😃
It sounds like nothing special, but most of the people pronounce it “Baba YAga” instead of “Baba YagA”, if you know what I mean ! 😆
Maybe because she's from Australia and they speak a different accent? I'm German, and we pronnounce it the correct way aswell. Maybe mostly Americans and Brits who pronnounce it wrong.
The first one is correct it's yAga not yagA
@@BeefStakewithButterandGarlic other way around. Alex said himself
@@goodnightosaka Exactly and I know Russian, so... 😉👍🏻
@@GrotesqueSmurf Ich höre ehrlich gesagt die meisten eher „YAga“ sagen 😆🤷🏻♂️
I love how obviously into it you are without even saying anything. I'm really glad metal seems to be getting more and more positive attention in recent years.
О, она правильно поставила ударение в слове "ягА"
лол ваще пиздец, походу первая
In Bulgaria we say Яга
@@tkzsfen He sings that part in Russian so it must be pronounced as the Russian form, ягА
@@angryktulhu так её же Юлькой зовут))))
Такая же реакция.Неужели правильное ударение.
I love the fact that Julia makes the STANK FACE during breakdowns. Sign of a metalhead
Who's here in the comments waiting for Alex Terrible to show up and comment? lol
I love seeing you go from totally shocked by the vocals the first time you reacted to deathcore..to replaying parts over and over AND headbanging along 🤣 love to see it , it grows on you for some reason
It’s physically impossible not to make a stank face at the breakdown, which was on point!
“Little roar” puh!! 🤣 I love how you caught yourself on that! I absolutely love your videos!! You are by far my favorite vocal coach reactor out there!
I have watched so many reactions to this song, but yours is by far my favorite. You actually felt the music, instead of just treating it as some shock value because of Alex's voice.
It's so cool that you are open to this kind of music and are enjoying it :) Channel is getting better and better with much variety. Keep up doing awesome reactions!
was super excited to hear your reaction to this because it is definitely more accessible but also more inventive with some of the more melodic parts and including the choir in the breakdown, etc
All we need to do know is get her a STP mask and the ritual will be complete! i mean uhhh metalhead..... :D
Thanks for this!!! Some how I missed these guys and now I cannot stop listening. The first time in ages that I have actually gone through a bands back catalogue!! NEW FAVOURITE BAND!!
Love watching you do these metal reactions! Your energy and breakdown of this style of music is very impressive. Keep up the great work!
This song is like the 90s personified haha nu as fuck. What a banger.
Video creator: How Russian do you want this video?
Alex Terrible: Yes
Putin endorses this video
@@da1ewok don't show this to Bayden.. 🤔
The breakdown appreciation is appreciated 🤘🏼 your ear is learning to pick those nuances on the instruments. Super rad. Alex should put you in their next video and you can head bang in the breakdown. That would be something. 1,000,000 views/likes instantly
OMG .... so brave of you to react to this.... I love your channel.
You're amazing, thanks for the reaction and breakdown!
FINALLY I was waiting this reaction a long time!
You really need to listen to Diana Ankudinova singing “Reshenka” a classic Russian folk song and she has one of the most intere voices you will hear.
I think she has reached to Diana's Wicked Games but not Rechenka. Diana stroll forward like a shaman, calling forward all the spirits of nature.
I'm so thankful for your input and expertise, even though you say you're not too familiar with the techniques, your points and observations are extremely valid and gave me more than a few ideas to experiment with as an intermediate metal vocalist. Sincerely, thank you, please keep it up!
Love your reactions to Slaughter to Prevail
My god I am so here for this! Long time watcher, first time commenter hahah. I would LOVE to see you react to more deathcore, the reaction to the pure evilness of his vocals makes me so happy 😂 awesome reaction! Big love from Melbourne 😁
Love your reaction!)
I love how all the men reacting to them are freaking out about that stuff like blood, weapons and body parts, and she is just like "oh thats so cool"
YYEEEEEESSSSSS!!!! I've been waiting for this one!!
Every time a great reaction. I like your mimic when you watch the videos, so true and funny ;). UA-cam should make possible 2 thumbs up. Greetings from 🇩🇪
I love the look of complete confusion/intriguement/fear/kind of vibing all at once during the build up to one of the best breakdowns ever, followed by just stank face after it drops. These videos are so entertaining to watch because they are experiencing a myriad of emotions at the same time. Julia took a deep dive straight into the depths of metal with this one.
The fact you've kept diving down this metal avenue is awesome!
Was waiting for the reaction from you)
Thanks Julia, after the excellent video you did on demolisher , its awsome you also have done one for baba yaga¡¡¡ great job¡¡¡
I love that your exploring the metal genre more!
I am not sure what I am even doing here lol but I have watched it and I do love how open minded you are. Great reaction.
That was pure Awesome..subbed🤘
First time viewer, I think you do a great job! I wish more people were into heavy metal like you.
Do agony by slaughter to prevail. That song demonstrates a bit similar structure vocal wise as this one but an amazing song and interesting music video
I'd watch this anyway but the thumbnail image was a classic.
Stank face lmao.
You're so right! This is really catchy - a pop song almost. They should represent Russia at next year's Eurovision Song Contest. Live bears on stage and prop body parts!
I'm afraid that strict fire safety rules won't allow the RPG use, even once :(
I can't get over how excited you are reacting to this music, I love it 😁😍´.
I love songs like this. Just throws you into the deep end from the get-go no warm up no preparation no nothin' I love it!!!
Thank you! I was wondering what baby yaga was, great react and a learning experience lol
Ah I’ve been waiting for this one from you :)
Awesome video and awesome song! I love your channel!
Just come back from a 4 and half hour car drive and then hit by this. 11pm and it is just getting dark. My brain just melted.
Ok, now you've said it- I'm dying to see a video of you practising your metal vocals. Is that possible? Because I would LOVE to see that video. 😄😄😄
Great reaction!
She's by far the most authentic music reactor there is. Looking at her, you would never guess she would even watch this. But she breaks it down perfectly. She's so non judgemental.
The stank face in the breakdown! When you get it.....you get it. 🤘
Nice, super reaction🙂
well i think she starts digging metal. You need to react to Spiritbox - Secret Garden
I think Secret garden wrong song, to react first. Maybe Rule of nines live one take performance or blessed be would be better)
I think before secret garden need to listen circle with me
Nope.
"Holy Roller"
"Blessed Be"
"Rule Of Nines"
yeah anything by Spiritbox but i think she need more appreciation on Courtney's cleans first then surprising her with some heavy sht haha
That ending is absolutely cold everytime.
Hey Dear.... indeed, that was the best "Breakdown" of the year, right ???
I"m a musician, not young, on guitar bass... and to me, perhaps the best Breakdown i never heard since 40 years... Goddam it !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thx so much to share your interesting react about Alex's band (made in Russia)... this Alex is very very "Terrible" (lol)
We salute you from France... & keep safe Dear,
Fantastic how your hair colour matches the red light in the video :D
"This is the most Russian thing" Hahaha you killed me !
Alex’s vocals remind me of the band Sikth during the chorus. I love that so much. If you wanna hear what I mean, check out their song Sanguine Seas of Bigotry.
Professional reactions , keep it up !!!
Watching these poor innocent clean vocalists get overwhelmed is hilarious, Music like this is A-LOT to take in all at once 🤣
What a demolish song and reaction. You do great work (even if this kind of music is out your comfort zone). Thank you for this very educative video.
wow, the way you sang "I can't stand" 😍
His gutteral growls are so satisfying, thank you for the reaction!
One of the best parts of the video is Evgeny shaking his head in the breakdown… just adds a sense of
Fuck yes to the video
Your the only person I have seen reacting to this music video who was aware of baba tags folklore.
Your facial expressions when it gets savage are the best!!! 🤯
Don't know if you've seen it yet or not, but he did a one-take of their song Viking, it will shed some light on what/how he does things, and we NEED more Slaughter on this channel it's been far too long
The lead up into and that breakdown is gloriously filthy. I love it
During the breakdown and the outro there is also a choir layered in the background, which I find pretty enjoyable. I love Brand of Sacrifice and they love to do this also.
I was literally praying you were going to review/react to this new music video when I watched it. I immediately thought reading the name of it Baba Yaga hmm…what could it mean!? Just something Russian!? I also said the same thing too at the beginning of the video. Wow, this is quite a graphic music video. Well who knew it is actually a Folklore!? Ty very much for clearing that up for us. It makes it seem much less graphic knowing that it is actually part of the story. Great review/reaction! Well done. Plus to have Alex Terrible the bad ass singer himself reply to your video is just awesome! GG
Love the pull down tremolo breakdown 5////// awesome
Can't wait for Alex to see this.
He see
The choirs hidden in the background of the breakdown are epic!!!! They give a haunting, subliminally gothic effect. GNARLY
I Would so love to See you react to "as everything unfolds" with their Song "stay". The girl has a georgeus voice and great variety in her singing. So hope you do a Video of that.
The choir at the breakdown is a nice effect on good headphones.
You should check out his cover version of Barbie Girl or whatever it's called. It's hilarious.
You're right, this song is more variety than Demolisher. The chorus is very nu-metal, very Slipknot vibe. The guitar solo towards the end feels like punk rock/emo in it.
Holy crap! You mentioned the pencil thing! My 3rd grade music teacher taught me that, and it helped me greatly when I was younger. I've told other people about that technique and they just look at me like I'm an alien lol. I knew I wasn't just spewing non-sense!
Very interesting. I must admit that I don't listen to guttural vocals on a regular basis, but I do love my metal. I particularly like those devolving slides on the guitar during the breakdown. This track is now added to my evergrowing playlist.
Nobody : Screaming can hurt your sound
Alex : Yes
favorite part, I'm in danger hahahaahhaha Love it Julia!
i like how she's slowly becoming a metal head lmao
I still love how when Julia is explaining highs Alex is fighting a bear and covered in blood all while her mood is just ":D"
