When I was14 these guys were my favourite band, not punk etc or new wave, and I have always had an eye for dark girls ever since. The cutie in the band is fantastic
It is lip synced just as almost all such TV appearances were back in the day, it doesn't take anything away form it though... 😉 PS: If it sounds exactly like the studio recorder record thens that's because it is the studio recorded track they are singing too, no band or artist no matter who they may be can ever sound live exactly like the studio recorded track... 😉
Grew up with this band I have all their albums in my mind they will never fade my youth is cos of them.fank you darts u really don't know how u helped my youth lol I fort I was Rita Ray lol ♥️ x
I believe he still sings with the band as and when he can, as his time and commitments allow. There's a lot more recent vids of Darts on UA-cam that'll support me over this
Two things regarding what you said there.. First thing is, many people think I'm kidding them when I mention you used to be able to buy records from Boots back in the day, not sure why they do but it was just a simple fact of life.. Second thing is... I'm always amazed and wee bit saddened that of all the great records Darts produced they never once got to number one in the UK charts... I love all Darts singles but "Duke of Earl" for me is their crowning glory and as you say, they deserved to get to number one with this rendition.. Ah well, number one or not it won't change the fact that Darts were/ are one of the best British groups of all time...😉
Sorry to hear about your friend, my condolences to you on your loss... :-( It's nice to remember someone through their favourite music and associate happy memories of them with it... take care and remember the good times you had together... :-)
This song has many great memories for me from my youth. Thanks for sharing the only excellent quality version I can find online. Shared this on Facebook. Much appreciated :-)
+johnatkin69 You had good memories? I lost my virginity to the strains of this song, albeit in a shed of neighbours we knew to be on holiday, with her sat upon a dustbin, whilst my cousin and his girlfriend were going nowhere (despite his attempts) up against the far wall. Happy days, cringe-worthy though it might now seem.
Alberto Torrres Not sure what photos you mean but there were 13 different members of Darts over the years they were together so Kenny Andrews (the coloured guy) whom only joined them in 1978 of course isn't going to be in all Darts photos...
Wullie you are so lost! The only boring here is you're bad taste, Darts are class! Go listen to shitty rap or something. I bet its people like you to blame for the "music" of today
I remember this as a kid. Can they sing or what!😁

They gave us much to aspire to, it helps us in our youth, and now in later years x
Talented band 👍
Love Griff
Love this. Also like Sha Na Na's various performances of it but think this is the best overall.
Great quality! this really takes me back, good times.
Would he loved to have seen Den still part of the band for this but regardless of that, this song still rules!!
I believe he still sings with the band as and when he can, as his time and commitments allow. There's a lot more recent vids of Darts on UA-cam that'll support me over this
❤

They are in the Guinness world records.
As one of the top 500
Selling bands..
Not many can say that.
@@MadFranko008 3 x No 2's isn't bad.
Got mine second hand from ForBuoys I think lol
Lets go Ritta
Ce qui s’est fait de mieux dans les années 70 avec SHA NA NA. Ils étaient anglais n’est-ce pas, tout comme les Stray Cats?
Wow Greg Davies was the lead singer of darts
Had to look up who this "Greg Davies" was you mentioned... all I can see is... you need to go to SpecSavers I reckon... 🤓
Where's the nutty one?
At this point in the bands career Big Den Hegarty had left to look after his terminally ill father...
@@MadFranko008 Thank you
Being a fan of most modern pop and electronic music, this is a refreshing discovery.
Glad you liked it... it's always nice to discover music that you've never heard before and it turns out to be good... :-)
I never get tired of listening to this!
love this group many fond memorys
First band I ever saw live, The Dome, Brighton 1979. Brilliant!!!
A friend of mine died today. This was his favourite song. I play this one for him. Thanks #Madfrank

Exactly. You have put the spell on it! Keep sharing ny friend..
Great upload. 1979 is my favourite year for music so many fantastic songs from every genre.
It wouldn't have been out of place in the Goodfellas soundtrack.. Good sound harmony.
luv this song it was in the movie king Ralph John Goodman sung it
thanks! nice quality .. love the darts
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed the quality of it... :-)
Thank you for sharing such quality!...

frankos golden music years 1977-82...
Very true Jackoby, very true indeed... :-)
What happened to the black guy? Did he get replaced?
Erm.. he's in the video !!!
It's the other way round the coloured guy replaced Den Hegarty (the big daft guy in earlier Darts songs)...
MadFranko008 but in the photos of the band it doesn't show him as a constant member of the band. I love the song very underrated band.

missing Dan in this video boring
