  • In 1912 the legendary Olympic cyclist Henrik Morén established a new 24-hour record on a Crescent bike. A feat which suddenly made the brand famous on an international scale.
More triumphs should follow in the decades to come: in 1928 Henry Hansen won a gold medal in the Olympic Games and in 1931 he was triumphant at the world championships.
The World Championships proved a good event for Crescent bikes to shine. In 1948 Harry Snell won the title on an orange bike from Sweden. The colour had become iconic and was typical for Crescent bikes.
It was after this Victory that Crescent marketed their racing machines as world champion bikes 'Världsmästarcykeln

What an lovely restoration. Well done! It seems to be Fashion Line 307. It's from the latter half of '80s. NOT from the '50s 😀It's got Shimano Positron gearing system that have indexing built inside the rear derailleur and stiff "piano wire" instead of typical cable. If you want to be able to change the gears again you need to have that stiff wire - the normal cables won't work because they are not able to push - only pull. Also the bottom bracket is weird on these. They make adapters to take normal BSA style bottom brackets but the weird one that comes with these is built like an tank so no need to change the BB unless you really want to (these were cheap bikes at the time so imho it's not worth it) . I love these old Crescents (and Monarks - it's the same company) - they are robust quality bikes from Sweden.

Aluminum parts were buffed and other parts where chromium plated. I didn’t want to extend the video too long so it would get boring. Next time will definitely add ☺️
