When the water comes off the high banker onto the sluice it hits the curvature in the half pipe design and you lose water over the edge. Now im not a miner just a veiwer with a keen intreast in the process so please check with an actual miner before taking what i say too serious as i have zero practical experiance... But if im right you are creating work for no returns with this system because 1. The water lose as previously mentioned will decrease the water you have going over the sluice section which inbturn reduces the exchange between the light and heavies 2. The water is no longer clear water and is sloshing side to side as it travels down the sluice section in the same way used to clean out the gold and possibly blowing gold out as you run. You could put a clip on high wall on the sluice to stop water flowing over the edge - a thin metal or plastic barrier, a few extra inches to keep the water flow the same from the top of the high banker to the bottom of the sluice and to stop the sideways sloshing and to restore clear water you could put a barrier on the sluice where the highbanker discharges onto the sluice, with a gap at the bottom so the water flows smoothly and uniformly underneath the barrier... the gap needs to be low enough that water smooths out but not so low that it causes the water to back-up behind it... Hope thats clear and i hope its useful ....
