One thing about binging all your videos is getting to see how far you've come in a year or even less. Got your automatic up and going and then credit cards right after. Excited to see what else you've got coming up!
Credit cards are a essential Chris I had credit cards for 14 years and I am at 70% credit card business. In fact the car wash I am renovating now I am also doing tap and go!! Great job
Hello Chris, In Canada, the Monex system doesn't allow counting upwards. This setup will work if you configure it for debit card use only. Additionally, I've noticed some limitations on the dashboard. Are there more settings on the terminal itself that can be programmed? If coins are completely removed, there will be no bypass option to wash the bays, requiring payment each time.
can you please let me know what the cost breakdown is for the purchase and installation per bay is? I am purchasing a 4 bay and would like to have these installed
Okay well I’m back after watching all videos up to date and now waiting for my notification bell to start working! So I have some questions that hopefully make it in the next Q&A! 1. Uncle Stevie mentioned in a video how some car washes he’s bought we’re “flips”how does that process work as a tenant working with a landlord? Does the new tenant buying from you work with the existing landlord? 2. At what point would you consider a property that you are leasing not worth it and not putting up numbers you expected and what do you do next? I also had some ideas based strictly off watching your videos, you should make a video of how to properly use a self serve car wash and set up a QR code sign to your channel in each bay for customers who may have never used one efficiently, increase quality of washes and boost views! Let’s get to know your worker if he’s willing! It would be interesting to know how things work from his point of view and we’ve been seeing a little more of him every video! You are the man keep up the great work and maybe we’ll see some notes under doors being put to good use!
you have a great set up so it looks like you have your wash setup to accept quarters, tokens and now credit is that correct? can you do a video on how you set it up to accept the quarters and tokens and now the credit cards I'm looking for a in-depth video of the actual wiring and equipment setup. I would like to do this also.
My grandfather owns and runs a car wash....but his has been running since I think 64 or 65....and he obviously doesn't know that much how technology works and stuff. This will be a game changer for sure
Like your video’s. Took your advise and bought Monex card readers. My experience hasn’t been as complimentary as yours. Trying to get this installed in a Hamilton Gold Line GL-ACW. They told me it was compatible and an easy install. I asked for a price for installation help from Monex multiple time and they never gave me a price. After purchase and attempting to install this unit myself and dealing with the technical support of Monex, I discover they have no idea how to install this unit into my system and they then ask me to contact Hamilton for a wiring schematic. Next I contact Hamilton company for assistance to which they refused to help me because this card reader from (Monex) wasn’t recognized or approved by them. It’s been two weeks trying to get someone to walk me through getting this installed and I have had little to no help as of yet. So far I am not happy with them.
Hi Chris , Iam looking at a Ice machine for the car wash , I am not sure if your area is worth catering for , but a good little earner .only need 20 sq feet .
@@CarWashChronicles keep simple ice only , The ice Depot is excellent , don’t worry about all the flashy other equipment, very expensive and to many moving parts . Congratulations, CWC. Cannot wait for your update on the increase/change in sales. How did you know to go with Monex vs. Square or some other competitor? Recommendation from your bank? Do you plan on raising prices to to offset the credit card processing fees?
Thanks! Yes I’m interested to see how the cash vs credit cards will be. Basically shopped around and after talking with a few companies i guess it was just my gut feeling that wanted to go with these. I don’t plan on raising the prices. I’ll see how they go.

Yeah I hear ya. I feel like the terminals are less likely to be broken as there’s nothing for them. Not trying to get money so I find they’re less likely to bother touching them. Just more of an A-hole act
@@CarWashChronicles yeah I've had people torch cut a vacuum to seal 3 dollars of quarters. I sometimes wish they would ask me and I would give them the money not to torch cut the vacuum and cost me thousands to fix it. That's why I'm thinking about going token on the carwash side and the laundry stays quarters. Less likely to break in if they see tokens more.
Sad me dont have a self serve car wash nearby of the quality of yours. Often not even a foam gun. Theyre old or not well maintained. Most only offer shampoo, clear water, wax, spot free and thats it. One older system where i think the manufacturer doesnt even exist anymore it got good pressure, two bays as high as for RVs or higher vehicles, the foam brush isnt really foam but it has alot of soap water running through it if u use it which also works great to be honest. but no bill changers or acceptors, no vending machines, no credit card payment....... The best we have around has a foam gun (Pretty watery though) and they cheap out on the foam brush there isnt very much water at all coming thru it. For that u get a vending machine for tire cleaner, 6 bays that are clean and well maintained and lighted well, vending machines for cockpit towels a token machine a shop downstairs for products and like 8 vacuums with two hoses for each side of your car. But im not aware of any self serve around that has tire cleaner in the bay or an air dryer or the likes. Most also dont allow bringing on chemicals or handwashing as well...... BTW, maybe you could offer a sink or something where people can pull water buckets with or without shampoo mixed into it and allow handwashing in one or two bays or at certain times when theres not alot going on at all. Many owners seem to start offering that.
Curious as to what area you are in. If only you could take over an existing wash and make it awesome. In my experience the sinks attract more homeless to wash in it and gave me more problems than customer benefits. But I see what you mean.
Thank you sir for information. I just ordered my Monex credit cards. Should be here in a couple of weeks. I would like to see your mounting plate if possible as I am going to install them myself.
That’s awesome. You won’t be disappointed. My mounting plates were custom made from my worker who made them out of pieces of metal so I’m sure each wash will be different depending on your faceplate.
I've been involved with car washes for 40 years. I've been a professional technician for 30. I've serviced at least 500 different car washes. I see a mistake in your video that I've seen many times. Don't leave your keys inside your changer! In fact don't leave them anywhere on site. It's bad enough that thieves target the changer, but when they find keys they take everything, not just the coins, but they will take your vaults and coin drawers and anything they touch because they don't want to leave prints behind. You'll be out potentially thousands of dollars and be down for weeks while you track down new parts, some of which are no longer available. All for the sake of convenience over leaving your keys hanging on the inside of the changer door. Now thousands of people know.
Newest problem is they are not that water proof. We have a few that quit working only to start working when they dry out might take a few days. Still not taking debit cards. Be careful.
