The only version of Sonic Generations I played was the PS3 version so I am very unaware of the modding community for the game, the Classic Sonic skin change spooked me for a second.
Haha Yeah the modding community has some crazy talent and could see how it would spook you if you haven't seen a few mods before but would recommend modding the game if you had interest in it makes the game even more fun then it already is!

27:13 ok so, here’s a highly possible explanation. When playing through the stage normally, the rocket gates are there right? Well they level beyond doesn’t load until breaking those gates to avoid possible lag issues, because that level is HUGE. However due to the gates being removed as you use spike, the level doesn’t detect the gate being broken, and load the rest of the level, thus making the collision be there, but not the textures.
That's very possible I'm not sure where the load points are in the stage but if that's true that the load point is where you break the gate that would be the most logical answer!
hey, im the creator of the 3D classic sonic but fun to play mod(M2311), and i just needed to tell you that the wrong version of the mod was used which was why green hill was difficult. The version that was used, was the one for level mods, which is only supposed to be used for modded stages, i did name it a bit weird, which i will change soon. But the reason green hill glitched was classic sonics gravity needs to be the same as moderns for him to work in his stages. For example, classic sonics gravity is 33, but moderns is 35. classic sonics being 33 doesnt allow him to transition into the camera change quick enough, so now its 3D movement in a section that should be 2D. Also to compensate for classic sonic needing to have higher gravity in modern levels, his jump height was also higher to compensate. Wording was a bit unclear in my mod, sorry for that. Speed highway was also the reason for the rocket not being grabber normally

28:08 no, I've let the homing attack slide cuz it's one of his skills, i've let that spinach m9d slide cuz it shows how well classic sonic would do without that 3D spindash bug. I was unsure about the spike wisp being in the rocket wisp's place & the removal of the obstacles that only the rocket wisp can break, but those spring are definitely not there, so i'm calling that rigged & consider planet wisp impossible

Tbf classic sonic DID learn how to homing attack so I see nothing wrong with adding the homing attack especially since classic sonic had the fire shield dash before 3d was even a thing anyway

using all these mods kinda defeats the point of the challenge, like i think the 3d spindash fix is fair game, but everything else seems like it's unnecessary for the challenge or borderline cheating
