Millennial mashup 1. Fix Your Toxicity - Coldplay ft System Of A Down 2. Faint Toxic - Linkin Park ft. Britney Spears 3. Boulevard of Broken Wall - Greenday ft Oasis Killing in The of Thousand Miles - Vanessa Carlton ft Rage Against The Machine
I love this so much... the distress coming from the vocals overlaying the calming background music- as though no one can see or cares about what the singer is saying so he must scream to be heard. I absolutely love this chaos of a creation
That’s a great description: very perceptive. Almost like a depressed person screaming to be heard while the calling music underneath tells of a soul that as already decided it’s destiny.......pure calmness and acceptance mixed with complete anger at nobody coming to help! Merged together it really is a story of.......life.!
thank you for all your comments whether positive or negative. certainly it is not perfect but some have been affected by this mix, this feeling that I felt when I made it thank you all mad martigan
I thought it was killer. Who cares what anyone else thinks. I’m a musician also and whatever ‘timing’ issues there might have been aren’t worth mentioning
No. The "somewhere between the sacred silence" part isn't off beat. Those are triplettes. The creator even pushed them a beat earlier so that it made sense. Listen to it as if you didn't know the original song and it sounds perfectly fine.
I'm no musician, but I had never heard the System of a down song. It did sound a tiny bit strange in the beginning, but it quickly grew on me. What an absolute gem of a mashup!
Damn son all the feels AND flipping 6/8 to 4/4? I pity the fool who doesn’t understand the genius at work here. I laughed, I cried, then I left stunned as thoroughly impressed with the techniques at play. You hit the trifecta. If Dilla we’re still with us I think he’d be really proud of you well done 🙏
I just listened to this three times in a row on the way to band practice. I have no words for how beautiful and powerful this is today. Thank you for changing my day.
Its weird. I actually understand the song this way. I guess when your not jamming to that badass drum line and guitar you actually feel the message. At least that's how I see it. So thanks for this
You have served US great portion od music art, art, which stopped Our world for a while to listen it with absolute awareness. Except of little rythm differencess in culmination, it drains tears. Great work.
This was so.. perfectly put together.. the video imagery had more intensity of an emotional feel with the Coldplay soundtrack... I honestly felt like crying at the end of the video.
This is gorgeous! I adore Bill's Mashups, he's great. But this one just has something special that touches my heart. Smooth Coldplay and stiffupperlip Toxicity Vox just complement perfectly. Thank you!
This composition is marvelous and majestic at the same time. I cannot believe how beautiful this came out to be. The moments where the singing doesn't line up in tempo with the music has no effect on how beautiful this song came out. As a musician I got to enjoy this "awesome" mix with full heart. Damn ninjas cutting onions again..
Holy crap. I had no idea how Toxicity could flow, but the vocals are powerfully downbeat with the backing swapped out with Fix You. Damn! Solid timing matches really seal this as a good mashup. That's the biggest factor often missed in mashup attempts. You nailed this. Sweet vid to boot. hellsyeah
Hmmm. See several people saying this doesn't work, that it doesn't fit the music, is off the beat, etc. Now, I might be blessed with not knowing 'Toxicity' very well from previous (only heard it a few times and far between), but I think this works amazingly well. An inspired mash-up by whoever thought it up to begin with :)
flucking super freaking awesome! i can watch it for the next 100 years without getting bored of it! whoever edited this just have an artist's ear :') he just put the vocals in their right place! nice work man! :)
Slackerphilosopher Actually, I went through a similar experience several years ago... it sucks, but eventually I found someone else. You will be fine, I know it hurts but things like that makes you stronger and a better person. Don't be angry, don't be mad. Respect the girl and who knows... maybe you guys may become good friends... but anyway... keep going and take care of the most important: "yourself"; that's my suggestion. Cheers!
There's a few bits where it drifts out.....but considering this guy managed to mix a song in 6/8 and a song in 4/4 and it fucking works is majestic, expert level mash-uppery as far as I'm concerned.
I actually like it. Shortly after those parts are when they sync up the best so it gives a good build. I understand what you mean though it doesn't really sound natural.

This description gave me chills- so poignant
Serj has a hell of a voice...

@feargm i would say he only sings with his nose these days hahaha
@feargm i appreciate your comment on serj's voice, well said.
The off tempo just makes it more natural, like an emotional improvised live performance with a touch.
Cristian Zappoli yes
@Cristian Zappoli because many performers are off the tempo on the purpose to make the performance unique.
Disorder
It was weird to me at the beginning but this is too incredible to discredit for that
I know what parts you’re talking about and it’s not actually off tempo it’s an upbeat which is not unheard of and not easy to pull off
I love the mix of the calm, heartbreaking music and serj's screaming
it's like desperation
Some Guy Like my crippling depression c:
It's called Passive Agression. Same vibe of Killing in The Name of Thousand Miles by Rage Against The Machine ft Vanessa Carlton
thank you for all your comments whether positive or negative.
certainly it is not perfect but some have been affected by this mix, this feeling that I felt when I made it

It's an amazing mix man, you did a great job
Thank you ❤️
No man. Thank YOU
I thought it was killer. Who cares what anyone else thinks. I’m a musician also and whatever ‘timing’ issues there might have been aren’t worth mentioning
Amazing mash up. Well done 👍🤘
Cheers for doing this pal
this sounds like something that serj would write for his solo album
Sven Kobus Made my night
Sven Kobus except he's not singing through his nose
Nirvana Rin Tin i don't get it, explain please
Ghazian Hindami his voice changed with age
best comment!
The inconsistent tempo makes this better for some reason
Exactly
More wild/raw/emotional
Sound like a sad angry drunkard
Synchopation
It almost bothers me tho
I didn't think the parts where Serj yelled was gonna fit with the tune, but it actually goes together beautifully.
I've had this on my Playlist for a little over a decade now, thank you. What a dream of a song. I see others here in 2024, hell yeah.

All you so-called musicians complaining about the "tempo" need to brush up on polyrhythms and polymeters. This mash-up is brilliant.
Do you

I mean, it doesn’t perfectly match up (but you can’t really do it anyways, so this is a really good edit anyways)
I’ve been coming back to this song every now and then over the past 9 years absolutely love this
You didn't need to put Awesome in the title, we can come to that conclusion ourselves.

I don't know about any of you but this is just pure beautiful ... Made me cry
Lil Dub when angels deserve to die
Gaia Stella Cannata ohh man thats wonderful
Lil Dub There’s something about actually being able to hear his lyrics with a soaring, melodramatic backing track that makes it poignant.
I felt it too. Pretty amazing.
🙋💜 yupp me tooo. So much more magick emotion to the song. I think I love this "acoustic" version better than the original.
I have loved this for years. I always come back.
Thank you.
This is a work of mathematical genius.

I love his voice, especially when he adds that arabic vibrato onto disorder. It's beautiful
DakAttack serj is Armenian.
DakAttack Armenian
Are you saying Armenians can't perform an "Arabic vibrato"? Such racism!
No vibrato there.....
He has a rare voice can hit notes you don't here now a days he's a once in a generation dare I say more.
This is more deep than both originals
Was about to say that they complement themselves in a great way!!!
Totally, for real my favorite music of the two bands jakdjakdjakdjdjd
I agree.
Totally man. Wew. Tears
I never thought either of these songs could be merged with another to sound as amazing as they did before.. but this is bloody incredible.

I've now heard this more than Toxicity normally, I can't even listen to it anymore. THIS is Toxicity now
Finally after years I've found it again 🎉🎉
Thank God it wasn't SOAD with Chris Martin singing.
It would be *toxic it*
He has an amazing voice what's wrong with it ? Maybe his voice is not for metal songs but just think Coldplay is alternative
@@RockyHellers yeah, I think that's what he was trying to say
Soad with Chris vocals would be Deftones
Who the fuck is Chris Martin?
2:33 is mind blowing. The melancholy melody of Fix You, mixed with the aggressive lyrics of Toxicity really compliment one another.

Still here in 2019 listening to this absolutely brilliant mash-up.
only found this 2 days ago i love it's haunting brutality
I did not know I needed this until now.
I can't help but to notice the pain in the original lyrics amplified when the vocals put in a sort of dominance over the whole song.

No.

Wow… great job! A song in 4/4 with another song in 6/8… woah!
Yeah, it sounds so weird together lol
Absolut Lucho But actually not that bad, it surprised me
Hemiolas 4 daayyyyzz boiii
Toxicity is 6/8 during the verse and 4/4 during the chorus
i love the mashup but it's not really that weird. 6/8 has more in common with 2/4 than it does with 3/4, and 2/4 quite frequently sounds like 4/4
The lord of all mashups
Oh my God, how did I never hear this before? I love SOAD and Coldplay! Bravo! Thanks for this! Love it!
