I love how they speak of only 1% being insignificant ! Would you fly on a plane where 1 out of 100 seats fall out of the plane while in flight ? Plus these 1% and 2% for various problems add up to a significant percentage !
1% is also one of the lower estimates for PVPS. Some studies suggest it's as high as 10%. Incidentally, the World Health Organization regards a 1% incidence of anything as "common", not insignificant.
You have a higher percentage of getting in a car wreck but you're not going to stop driving because of that. It's unfortunate but everything in life has risk.
Here's an excerpt from a reputable medical site: Persistent testicular pain (PVPS) is the most frequent vasectomy complication that can adversely affect quality of life. Because of this, it should be included in the vasectomy consent process. Due to a lack of prospective data and differing definitions for post-vasectomy pain, consensus on incidence has not been reached. In available studies, a wide range of incidence from 14-33% is reported for any testicular pain after vasectomy. A smaller group of patients, 1-5%, have severe pain that affects quality of life or sexual function. A conservative estimate for chronic PVPS of 1-5% of vasectomized men may be warranted based on available data, but the overall incidence may be higher.

Have them removed? Tough call but I’d take it. Also doctors will lie to keep you buying painkillers, keep asking till someone tells you something else.
I’m in constant pain. I wasn’t even told this was a possible outcome. The medical profession needs to do better with regard to being more honest about the risks. The way this procedure is minimised is unethical.
Sorry to hear about that. I Completely agree. I’m in the same boat. Now that I’ve had the procedure and have pain all the time, I hear more and more stories of people who had the same results, even from my own doctor! I’m shocked how this is never mentioned before you get it done. I’m almost 5 months post procedure. Curious to know if your pain has stopped or if you did anything that made it better? How long did it last?
After suffering for couple of years, it is now clear in my case pvps is stress related. I had my vasectomy during a very stressful moment in my life(which was a bad timing) and due to continuous stress accompanied by wrong body posture when sitting, wrong breathing etc. etc. my pelvic floor was trained to stay higher and in more tension, pressing all kind of nerves. Pelvic floor physiotherapy but most importantly, stress management reduced and occasionally eliminated the pain. For example, I never have pain during vacation when being completely disconnected from work. Good luck!
Hi Sr after how many year did it took for the pain to reduced or completely stop & WHAT about ejaculation is it less then before i mean sex sensation is same or less
I have had testicular pain ever since my vasectomy 3 years ago. I don’t want kids and never will, but I regret getting snipped due to the constant discomfort and sometimes pain. Then I have to pay $200 every time the pain becomes unbearable just to talk to the doc about it. Then he prescribes me some kind of antibiotic that costs another $100. Gonna have to get a reversal
My husband is almost 6m out and still has slight discomfort and depending on if we were a little more ruff than normal that he’s in pain for a few days afterwards even. I feel bad cause when we’ve wanted to continue things after he’s ejaculated sometimes it’ll start to bother him more and he can’t. When he had the procedure done one side hurt worse then the other and same side is the side that continues to hurt him. We’re making him a doc app to see what’s going on and why.
I am 8 months post surgery. Both sides had different aches right off the bat. One side's pain has completely disappeared but the other is similar to your husbands. A soreness that carries into my left lower abdomen whenever there is some manipulation. A feeling of cords being pulled. I am so over this. Hoping a little more time and the big 1 year mark ends this nightmare.
I'm about a year post vasectomy. I noticed I had sperm granulomas form on both vas deferens(es/i?). I only experienced very mild discomfort occasionally up until I got sick a ~3 wks ago. As time has gone on since then my left granuloma seems to have swollen (about twice its prior size) and has become fairly tender. I'm not sure if the virus or immune system is somehow impacting it, or perhaps all the coughing I was doing did something. For now I'm controlling the swelling and waiting to see if anything changes.
Fuck all the articles where i read its safe. Fuck all the doctors who said its safe. After nearly 6 monts I am starting to have pain before ejaculation and it hurts so bad😢😢
I feel like a rabbit pellet on each side of my testicals . The are hard but dont hurt. I had a vasectomy 25 years ago . So is this normal. I went to a urologist he said it was sperm something and basically told me to masterbate more often??? So i would like a second opinion. He didnt use a utra sound he just felt around. And was joking around about why i didn't want my femal nurse to feel my testicals. I get in that profession you have to have a good sense of humor. But anyways. I would like a second opion. Any input? They dont hurt they just feel like hard pellets. Do you think he is right that they are scar tissue from the vasectomy and are sperm granuloma?
Just out of curiousity, i am at the 3 month mark and still experiencing minor discomfort keeping me from excercising, etc. What is the average timeframe for this extended pain group to resolve?
By now i am much better. I have progressed(with the help of prescribed antibiotics and anti-inflamatories) to the point of being able to excercise fully. The only issue i have now is minor discomfort from underwear being too tight, same with some pants. Minor twinges of pain that are random. Also the pressure of closing my legs together bothers me at certain angles. But altogether the pain is much better now than months ago. I can actually do 95 percent of what i want. Looking into a de-nerving surgery for the rest of the discomfort tho.
