How much time does this take? How many units of labor would a shop charge ?
I have a m276 e350. I believe it replaced the m272 engine in 2010. My 2009 had the engine your showing. The belts and engine are different. The 276 requires CONTINENTAL Belt 6K X 2130 0039935796 / 6K2130 which I just replaced. Very easy.
When the car is running are these tensioners supposed to make small adjustments like every second?
Hi I have a 2010 E350 4matic the belt broke causing the top pulley to get stuck and shatter. watching your video I decided to replace the 2 pulleys and the tensioner, a week later the belt broke again. The installation was done according to your video and replacing the parts one by one, double checking the diagram and adjusting tights the bolts. I bought a more expensive belt thinking that the one I bought was defective, I drove back to my house another 45 miles and again it was about to break into pieces. Does anyone know or have any idea what the problem may be?
Good question...I had a 1994 Ford F150 that I changed the tensioner...It kept eating belts...Never did figure out why....
Is it necessary to replace tensioner when replacing pulley and belt?
Thanks for the video! Would you be able to post a video to replace idler pulleys as well? I will really appreciate that. thanks
And why does it need replacement? Does it make noise? Thank you
changing the tensioner and the idler preserves the belt accessories from getting abused by too much lateral freeplay and a jammed tensioner.
Nice design with cheap parts to force maintenance one way or another 😅
What size is the hex that holds the tensioner?
This looks the same for an e550, is that right?
Thanks for the video very easy to follow. Question, I purchased one of these from ina but the markings on the metallic section show gates. Was wondering if this is common on all these tensioners to have a gates metallic part and i'm just buying an ina made pulley?
Hi - What size is the bolt on the upper and lower idler pulleys?
+Pat B These are E12 tensioner mounting bolts. Thanks for watching!
