I've been primarily using Procreate for my drawing workflow, but I'm really excited about the new Live Brushes that are in Adobe Fresco, and in this tutorial I'll show you how to get started.

Thank you, I was having so much trouble with how to color without coloring over my line work. The fact that all you had to do was move it under is kinda funny.
I’ve been using adobe fresco for a while now, i had no idea about the timelapse export and i released i had been screen recording this whole time and speeding up the video in stead of exporting a timelapsed video straight away. Sounds like me complaining but i’m saying thanks for showing me this

Thank you, Jai! I’m really loving drawing on an iPad - I feel like I can explore more without “wasting” paper or getting psyched out with a white canvas because I can always undo or erase. Maybe that dilutes the traditional art approach, but for me it makes it super relaxing to keep sketching and experimenting. I’m also getting better because I’m using it more. I’m enjoying simply taking notes on the iPad too, which is something I didn’t even consider when I got it.
That's great to know. I also feel intimidated by white space. I just saw a trick by a guy on youtube using procreate where if you hook it up to a monitor you can change a setting so that even if you're zoomed in on the ipad you can have a static full view of the complete image. I thought that was rather cool. I'll find the video and share here if you want (not sure if you want that or not)

Have you seen the new sidecar feature that the latest Mac OS has with iPads? It’s INSANE! I’m so pumped about it and I think I’m going to make Wednesday’s new video about how to use it so you can sketch on an iPad like a Wacom tablet with Photoshop using a tethered Mac. 😱🤯
Derrick Mitchell yes I’ve seen some videos on it but my Mac mini is late 2014 so sidecar wont work apparently- I haven’t looked into it yet.

I need help. When I went to use the oil or watercolor brushes, they were extremely pixelated. I've been messing with the settings and I just can't seem to figure it out. I don't want to give up, I really want to get good at this... but I'm having some trouble. Any advice?

I’m stoked for Procreate 5 too! Hopefully Fresco catches up soon, lol. I’m really missing the filter and text features that Procreate has.
@@DerrickMitchell well, its Adobe bro..... they are always slow with new features and updates. All their old apps had this problem so i hope they step it up otherwise Fresco will be just replaced in a few years.

It is an 11” iPad Pro. I just upgraded to the new M2 12.9 iPad though and I’m loving it so far.

Is there a way to change the color of the stencil after you’ve already done the line art? From black to Xcolor?
Maybe in one year you figured it out, but for anyone else with the same question: select the magic wand select tool, tap on the line work and paint over that selection

Not that I know of- that would be more of a Photoshop filter you’re probably looking for.

Price=FAIL... unless you are subscribed already - who is going to spend $120 on this product? NO THX... I'll give concepts and procreate my $9.99 for lifetime updates!
I agree - at least as it stands now, Procreate has WAY more features. I miss being able to add text and use filters like the blur filter, etc. I also like being able to select different brushes for the eraser in Procreate.
It will be really interesting to see how things play out the next few months between Procreate 5, Photoshop on the iPad, and the promised “coming soon” features for Fresco.
Currently, it’s only the water color and oil brushes that sets Fresco apart. If you’re already paying for the Creative Cloud, then it’s a nice bonus, otherwise, you’re right- $9.99/ is steep.

@@DerrickMitchell Agree... procreate has some really nice watercolor/oil brushes as well by users - but the flow and interaction is not as good as Fresco. Also recommend CONCEPTS as a great drawing app... Enjoy!

NOT WORTH IT! Stay way is toooooo EXPENSIVE and is not better then procreate. Is just new and that's it.
Hi Tara! I think you mean Procreate. I wouldn’t necessarily say “stay away” if you already have free access with the Creative Cloud subscription, however, I agree that it’s not worth it as a standalone app if you pay for it by itself.… The Live brushes are incredible though and still a welcomed tool for traditional artists, but personally after having used both apps, I still really prefer Procreate, and the Procreate 5 updates are incredible.
@@DerrickMitchell yes let me correct my mistake procreate is super cool especially the price is AMAZING! I did try Fr and calculating how much per year I was completely bomb by it.
