I had to look it up after rewatching her episode as its specified she's an orpban, no family whatsoever and as she dies so does her lineage. What the Doctor refers to is the rift remembering her face and over the generations of Gwen's family living near the rift that face got spat out again (that's terribly worded but hope you understand!)!

They missed some other great choices for this list, too. Here’s just a few obvious ones, off the top of my head.
-“Gretchen Alison Carlisle. Do something good and name it after me”. -Gretchen, Into the Dalek
-“Clara, for what it’s worth, and it might not be worth much, but when your whole life flashes in front of you, you see people you love, and people missing you. I see no-one” -Psi, Time Heist (like Jack in Parting of the ways, he survives, but he’s absolutely sure he won’t and still stares the Teller down like a baller)
-“Shh, Spoilers” -River Song, Forest of the Dead (As if I needed to give a reference for that epitaph!)
-“Affirmative” -K9, School Reunion (I know, it was actually a self sacrifice, which should be a whole other list, but c’mon, you gotta include it!)
-“I think sir, you know me at my best””Ready””Content” -Octavian, Flesh and Stone
-“Did I ever tell you about this boy I met there, who pretended to be in a band? -Amy Pond [+36yrs], The Girl Who Waited
-“Oh, you know nothing of any human, and that will be your downfall” -Harriett Jones (former Prime Minister), The Stolen Earth
I actually wouldn’t have included either Doctors deaths, as they do come back in a fashion and know this, but I can live with it and remember Tennent’s description of the regeneration cycle. I definitely wouldn’t have added Donna, as I don’t think she knew she was dead, she just knew she may die, and, what do you know? She survived.

No, Dickens had already written “A Christmas Carol” long before the events in “The Unquiet Dead”! He’s actually sick of performing it in the episode. He IS working on “The Mystery of Edwin Drood”. He tells the Doctor and Rose that he is going to include ghosts in the conclusion of the story. Except, Dickens never finished that novel, he was still working on it when he died.

I think an interesting one is in the episode Let's Kill Hitler from series 6B, where after River kisses him with poisonous lipstick, the Doctor knows that he's going to die in half an hour. Instead of freaking out or giving up, he decides to dress in a fancy outfit and continue being himself for the last half hour of his life. His insistence on not having a bleak outlook coupled with his dismissive acceptance of his impending doom make it a fun episode.

Catherine Tate absolutely dominates every moment she's on screen in her season. There was so much development she had left and to see her character go from vain and shallow to a thoroughly decent woman by Journeys End and to have it stolen from her. The doctor took all that from her and it was easily the saddest moment of that season and a fate worse than death, and her acting in that scene shows it thoroughly.

I've personally never viewed the Pompeii episode with the perspective that Donna thought she was going to die in that moment, though it is an interesting one. I've always seen it more of her realizing the gravity of the situation, that the Doctor is technically the reason Pompeii was destroyed, and her deciding that she will not let him take on that weight by himself, thus introducing us to her selfless nature.

You forgot about Astrid peth It’s in the Christmas episode voyage of the Damned, she knows that unless she does what she does, there is no way the doctor is going to survive, and he hast to survive, which makes her more than just companion material. It shows why the doctor himself is so heartbroken when she dies when he cannot save her and he really tries. If you watch the episode and you see the look on her face it says everything.
Ironically, the character is played by Kylie Minogue and she plays her brilliantly.

I just love Jenna Coleman; she died three times on the show, and better each time. But some others were not included: Kylie Minogue did well and died spectacularly. Alex Kingston's River Song died well in the library, as the Doctor was just a little late in saving her. And Harriet (yes, we know who you were) Jones perished for Queen and country as well. And John Barrowman, well, he's just just a glutton for punishment as Captain Jack.

I think Hartman's death is underrated. Yes, she was a bit of a pain as a character (great acting, btw), and her overblown patriotism seemed to be too much. But then she walks to her conversion with dignity, repeating that phrase, and then still saying it _as a Cyberman,_ she saves human (and a loose Gallifreyan's 😅 11:20 ) lives.
She overcame the programming of the Cybermen! She should have been given the Victoria Cross for that IMHO. She put her fellow citizens - and by assisting them, by definition the Queen and the rest of the Royal Family - above herself. Having looked at her hard as she is being taken to be converted, I am convinced she kept repeating that phrase because she had the idea to work against them from the inside, if you'll pardon my word choice, and thought it might help her remember it.
Just how I feel about it, that's all.

Eccleston's Doctor had to lay the ground rules of what it meant to be a Time Lord for the new viewers AND reassure the classic Who fans that the series was back. It honestly doesn't matter what happened behind the scenes for the parting of ways for the BBC and Eccleston. The first series of the current Doctor Who ended in the only way it could; by showing the last rule of being a Time Lord...regeneration.

I mean, we know regeneration is going to happen at some point. But the new generation? Given how popcorn instant gratification centric the world was becoming at the time they would have abandoned the show if it happened at the end of any other season.

Once they knew they had to get a message to a particular person (Sally Sparrow) at a particular time, there were *tons* of ways to ensure she got it. For example, I'm sure UNIT would have been more than happy to deliver a specific message at a specific time for the Doctor. Then, once resolved, Billy could've come back with Martha and Tennant in the TARDIS.
But no, Billy has to live through the entire thing the long way round just to drop off a message. WTF, Ten.
