The Smart Tap? Nope! You should be able to use it with or without LEDs, although I do recommend upgrading the stock lights. The features of the Smart Tap really come to life with the LED bulbs.
Meaning you can switch the LEDs back out to the factory bulbs? Yes. The bulbs are plug and play, as is the Smart Tap relay. They can be returned to stock if you want!
Does the turn signal / smart tap stop hyper blinking? And will it work on my 07 wrx? I just bought Auxito led turn signals with resisters. Only installed the rear two and no hyper blinking yet. Just curious incase I run in to any issues down the road
@mrhiddendeath YES! If nothing else, hyperblink is the biggest reason to get the Smart Tap. I can’t confirm fitment on an ‘07, but Diode Dynamics customer support is awesome, so I bet they could point you in the right direction!
I got my relay out from going underneath. Plasma purple hatch are rare 👍🏼
