@@pauljoseph8338 Ditto that. I'm guessing that much of it is behind the scenes of movie-making and ads, and that isn't up for grabs from the companies he works for. I loved the scenes he was able to show from Colorado offroad mountains.
ALWAYS wanting to see more of this side of your work. Been watching since the old days flying the big rig through trees. Love the airplane stuff, but as a drone pilot I'd love to see more on the professional side of things.
Trent, I'm looking at getting into the agricultural drone business...spraying, seeding, and imaging at the urging of several friends. I know it's not necessarily your thing but I'd be very appreciative of any advice and insight you might have. This is a complete shift in professions and skill sets for me. This is uncharted territory for me and I'm sure that any reply to a comment will only scratch the surface from your prospective. For reference the 3 drones I'm looking at are the DJI AgrasT-40, the Hylio 272, and the XAG P100. Thank you for the inspiration to makes this jump, whether or not you reply to this.
I feel like they still need to work on the performance of how the motors interact with each other while making high speed turns. Meaning if you are parallel with you subject in sport mode say 40mph then start to orbit around to the front of the subject, it seems the drone will slow down, you lose that momentum that you had while you were beside your subject esp if you make a quick turn to change the angle. Coming from the Phantom / Inspire series of drones, that did not happen. They also allowed you to fly in ATTI mode something that they still haven't integrated into any of the Mavic 3's. Down wind ATTI mode was a joy, something I really miss and can only do on my inspire 2 now. These drones are great but I think they need to mimic the flying characteristics of the phantom/inspire series, those in my opinion were the best flying DJI drones. A micro 4/3 sensor below a phantom 5 with ATTI mode is what I would die for :)
I will totally agree with you about this, at first I thought it was me not being able to fly it precicely but then I reaslised it's probably because the camera is located in the front and not on the bottom of the aircarft which makes it a little bit jerky while turning / orbiting following a subject, on my phantom 4 pro I could execute really really precise and intricate maneuvers while controlling the gimbal at the same time, with mavic 3 I find it kinda dificult.
I haven't flown the Mavic 3 but I can agree that the newer drones handle MUCH better. I've flown my Mavic mini and Mavic air 2s in the same session and its remarkable how much better the MA2s responds to my input. Great shots and great video!
Did they send you the drone with the grenade dropping option ? I've heard you might have some use for it. By the way, watch your six because i've heard Just Plane Silly is coming for your drone.
3:30 Quality of the main camera is leagues ahead of the others. The improvements here are nice, but not at all groundbreaking and I think little reason to upgrade for most people.
The Hasselblad sensor still shines for sure but I will say 99% of viewers won’t notice the difference in actual quality of the other 2 cameras, but it does open up a whole lot of possibilities for the pilot/creator. I think it’ll come down to each persons preference of what is important to them in a drone like this.
Awesome piece of kit, love the ability to to fly a longer lens.. however I'd prefer a single sensor with either a 24-70mm (equiv) optical zoom or interchangeable lenses. Great review!
@@TrentonPalmer One can buy a $270 PTZ camera for a security system. I wonder why they haven't put a real zoom (optical) on a drone yet. It's too bad that DJI isn't an American company.

Absolutely, the Mavic 2 Pro was great at the time but the 3 is in a whole different league. It flies better, flies much longer, and the image off of it is worlds better. Don’t get me wrong, the Mavic 2 is still a great drone but if you are using it regularly then the 3 is going to be a well worthwhile investment.
@@TrentonPalmer Thanks. I'll seriously consider it then. I work in television in Australia & while I was using my Mavic 2 Pro heavily a couple of years ago, a change in production roles reduced the amount I was using it. I'm doing more news camera work again, so I might look at the upgrade in the months ahead. Did you use the live HDMI-out during your testing of the Remote Controller too?
I wonder how steady the 166mm mode is when using 'Waypoints'? If it works, it's a lot easier than hand flying(I might think). Question...did you have to use a lot of post stabilization when using the 166mm?
What's the speed capability flying sideways? Following a train and filming it sideways flying is needed. I know about sports mode but the videos I've seen test the speed only forward. Now flying a Mini 3 PRO but soon a Mavic 3 PRO.

You commented on being able to change the camera view on the fly. Now, I can't be the only one thinking this but ... why not the ability to use all 3 cameras at the SAME TIME and choose your field of view / zoom during editing. (Yes, I know it will fill the memory pretty fast and reduce flight time a bit, but...)
Nice kit but the price! Being an ancient meanie I'll stick to my Brownie. Seriously I guess that if you are using it commercially it is worth the price. Great shots by the way. Regards, Jim the Brit in NI UK
Apples and oranges to some extent. The inspire has a larger sensor with interchangeable lenses and a much more robust codec that it records in. That said the wide angle Hasselblad sensor on the Mavic 3 looks damn near as good as the inspire to me, the other sensors aren’t quite as good. But again, the Mavic is much cheaper, way more compact and flies for twice as long as the inspire, so it’s a pretty big difference platform wise.
For picture taking... are you able to take advantage of any of the zoom features in camera mode - Zooming and picture clicking is a locked feature with the Mavic 3 Classic (one lens). thanks!
