All urologists should always disclose any financial relationship with the makers of the urolift equipment .

I'm sold on the Urolift. Heard nothing but good things from guys who've had it done. My VA Urologist just ordered the equipment. I'm going to wait while he practices on other Veterans before I schedule to have him do it. Currently I am self cathing after I stopped being able to pee at all. Since then I recovered so that today I can partially empty my bladder but I'm always amazed how much urine is still in me when I cath. Catherization is fast and painless and especially at night it assures me a good uninterrupted nights sleep which I hadn't experienced in years. Before I would wake up 4-6 times every night even after taking sleeping pills!

Urolift procedure has COMPLETELY PERMANENTLY DESTROYED my life. Made my condition WORSE. My urologist says he can try to fix it with laser surgery BUT I would have to self catherize DAILY for the rest of my life in order for scar tissue not to come back which would result in more surgeries. So catch 22. Ultimately PERMANENTLY destroyed my life. No going back. Now my condition is WORSE than when I started.

I just had the procedure done, and am experiencing a lot of pelvic pain, frequent urination, with blood and occasional blood clots, that are long and stringy. Pretty gross! This is the third day post surgery, and still passing a lot of blood in my opinion. I am on warfarin therapy for a heart valve, and taking Lovenox injections twice daily, while my surgeon told me to take all my meds the night on the day I had my procedure. Was told this is all normal, but the blood coming out really scares me!

Dr, I hope you can give me a reply. I am a 64 year old male. It's been less than one week that I had the Urolift procedure done. I had some blood in my urine for a few days, but that's all over and done. What's driving me NUTS is the constant urge to pee (or the sensation of wanting to pee and have nothing happen). I know I'm still in the early stage or recovery, but I'm curious s to why this is part of the side effects. Is my prostate still enlarged and needs time to shrink? I'm still on Tasmulosin and Finesteride, and took Azo for a few days after the procedure.
Any info you can give, I would greatly appreciate.

A stupid sententious urologist destroyed my prostate with a turp . Dry orgasm is awful mainly because i get no post climax, i.e. tension relief . I suppose its too late for me to have urolift . life has become worse than death . I read that the destroyed vesical sphincter and/or that a prostate that grows back to a functioning organ by genetic treatment . The article ends by who would want one . I would and many other men would want their prostates back too ! dry orgasm is a terrible tease that leaves you with more tension after the pathetic dry orgasm . i mean it is actually is painful , dry orgasm is !!!! My current urologist says i probably have a neurogenic bladder since i still have to intermittent catheter even after my turp . it would be wonderful miracle for a guy like me who has had a lonely life to have my seed come out my phallus again . I am heterosexual .

Don't waste your time on these gimmicks! If your prostate is limiting your urination get a TURP. It is the GOLD standard for a very good reason. Find a GOOD urologist and have it done. It changed my life at 59 years of age. Pissin like a racehorse and NO problems..!

breakawaymotorsports TURP procedure is no walk in the park. I encourage everyone to do your own research on both procedures. Also, maybe folks should not comment on a procedure that they have never had done.

The “Gold” standard should be whatever is minimally invasive, not otherwise.
