    You're so right about standing firm about the prices. Let them go elsewhere. Discounts always bring on regret and people who get discounts tend to be more demanding.

      Hello, I have a question I’m hoping you can help me with please.
      I am making my labels for my granola, bags etc. I am using white matte labels (actually sticker paper).
      I am cutting them out with my Cricut machine.
      Being that most of my products have some type of oil in them, whether it be from adding oil or from the nuts, I am concerned that the label will become greasy. My other concern is that the print on my labels will smear because I am printing them using an inkjet printer.
      With all of that being said, does anyone have any tips for this or what do you do?
      I have been applying clear contact paper to the labels, and then cutting them out. This is a bit much for each label, and I’m hoping it isn’t necessary.
      I saw on a UA-cam video where someone uses Krylon UV Resistant Clear Acrylic Coating. I am hesitant to use this as I don’t want it to come in contact with the food product while being eaten.
      I know weather-proof stickers are an option, but they are so expensive and I am trying to keep cost down.
      Sorry to go on so long, but I wanted to give a clear explanation of my issue. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    You will need a business license and depending on your state and local laws may need to rent a commercial kitchen. In a lot of states you cannot bake from your home kitchen as it's used for personal cooking as well. A separate kitchen in the home may be acceptable if it's only used for commercial uses.

    Hi. I love your videos because they're so helpful. My question about pricing is: How do I factor pricing for different size cookies? Do I need to charge more if the cookie is bigger like 4in or 5in or more because it's small like 2in and it might be more difficult to work with? Thanks!

    • @SweetDreamsBakeShoppe
      @SweetDreamsBakeShoppe  3 роки тому +7

      If it isn't a stock order (for example, a packet of mini cookies), then I generally like to keep my cookies around the same size because a smaller cookie doesn't necessarily mean 'less work'. If a customer really wants a particular sized cookie, I still maintain the same prices because for cookies, it's mostly about time rather than a small increase in the amount of product. Hope that helps, Wendy!

    • @SweetDreamsBakeShoppe
      @SweetDreamsBakeShoppe  3 роки тому +1

      Here are some of my tips for freezing/storing items: ua-cam.com/video/wpdZOSzRGKA/v-deo.html
      I have browned my butter for sugar cookies before and I will often add powdered flavourings like espresso powders or earl grey. I tend to shy away from less natural flavourings like extracts (other than vanilla) as I'm not a fan of the synthetic flavour as much.

      Honestly, if I felt the labels were integral for my product, I would just buy them in bulk even though they're a bit more costly. • @SweetDreamsBakeShoppe
      @SweetDreamsBakeShoppe  3 роки тому

      So hard to say as I can’t see the cookie detailing...also “medium size” is incredibly vague. Don’t worry though-if you feel you can’t charge what you originally quoted just bring down the price a bit. No bakery in my area sells even stock cookies for less than $3.50 so I began to set that as my minimum, but I was also super clear if my cutters were small and usually customers would either accept the small sizing or opt for something else. Let me know what you decide!! 💕
