I bought a Scientific Anglers starter kit with a rod, reel, a box, leader, fly line and a few flies when I first began fly fishing. It came with an instructional DVD that I watched a few times and it featured a guy and his wife who I never heard of before then. Brian O'Keefe, and he got me started. It took a long time to even be competent at fly casting, fishing, line control and just in general. But I won't forget seeing this guy to begin my journey of fly fishing and always recognizing him since. What I didn't know about him was his expert level casting and insane adventures to incredible fly fishing places he would go on and he has become a fly fishing idol for me. If I could credit some people for getting me into the hobby, he would be top 3.
Right on! Wonderful scenery, gorgeous trout. Those techniques are great for my local smallmouth too. Under the overhanging trees is a great cast on a sunny day. Cheers from Chicagoland.
The first cast in this video was beautiful. Fast forward cast followed by lifting rod tip up helped the turn over of the fly line. Absolutely great work.

Great, well-done video. A little different style than your usual videos, but the same excellent quality, and lots of good information. I'd like to ask Brian how he always runs over rocks, boulders, and log jams and never seems to slip, much less fall.
Hi James, I’ll be peppering in a few of these here and there. So much good info from these anglers, fun to get them explaining things a bit. Here is another one if you haven’t seen it… ua-cam.com/video/kq-QATKiOio/v-deo.html Thanks for watching!
@@CatchMagazine I’m from south of Italy, here fly fishing is difficult because there are not great spots, therefore I’m a spinner because I love artificial baits

This is great Adam. I think a ton of people would say the same thing. Thanks for sharing and glad you enjoyed this one!!! Have a great day out there!
O'Keefe's a madman. I love his style of fishing.
Very true. I like this, he’s definitely a madman with a fly rod. He just makes it fun.
Good stuff from a masterful angler! For all those anglers who want to learn the nuts and bolts of fly fishing Brian explains it well.

@@CatchMagazine , I've seen it. Awesome video. Anything with Pete Corbett or Brian is always good. Just adds to your already great videos.
спасибо, отличное видео
Thank you!
What fun😉
What attractor fly pattern is shown around the 2:50 min mark?
The mouse video is also awesome
Absolutely. If you search, Brian and I have done dozens of films here on the Catch Magazine channel!
Un crack Brian!

Вашему отношению к природе можно только позавидовать! Как и скандинавам... 👏👏👏👍👍👍
В России вас тоже смотрят! 😉
СПАСИБО!
I'm trying to remember if he has ever spoken in a video before🤣. I just figured he was the actor/stuntman😉.
He’s just been the actor-stuntman for years. He’s got a lot to say as well!!!
Why are there not amazing contents like this about spinning?😢
You just gave me an idea…

O’keefe and his friends will pinch you in on the lower D with their spinning rods.
WHO IS BRIAN O'KEEFE?
I’m not sure? 😜 I think he’s in this video though!
