- Mamutik Island off of Kota Kinabalu’s coastline is truly a beautiful place. Getting a tour from Jesselton Point could not have been easier! There were quite a bit of tourists, but as you’ll notice, we were still able to find a secluded area! Lastly, there was a good amount of garbage found on the beach which to what we’ve noticed is common on many islands in Asia. Just a reminder to take care of our world!

No matter how many times we clean our beach here in KK, it keeps coming back 😂 It's so frustrating sometimes. Thank you for highlighting that.

You can't get rid of 'em if we're not tackling the source of it. We need to start from it source. I mean the water villages. 99% of garbage on the ocean is from them.

Totally agree that it's just upsetting, when everyone wants to enjoy nature's beauty, but reckless about cleanliness and hygiene...
Semporna (sempurna means perfect in malay / indonesian) in Sabah is infamously even called the dirtiest town in Malaysia...
Sabah has long been plagued by illegal immigrants from Indonesia n the Philippines, n where they congregate or set up settlements, the places quickly resembled deplorable dumpsites...
Oh no! We were excited to visit Semporna but maybe it’s a must still because then we can #CleanTheOtherSide!
Hope everyone watching this video will change their daily buying and discarding habits WOOT WOOT!
The problem is , these illegal immigrants don't really take the trash issue seriously .
Most illegal immigrants in Sabah lived in slum settlements. They don't care about cleanliness.
When you are back in KL, visit the Batu Caves. A little further north of KL is Genting Highlands. It has great activities there and houses the world largest hotel, the First world hotel with 7,351 rooms. Then further north to the Cameron Highlands, where you have tea plantations, mossy forest, great hiking trails. The weather there is much cooler. Then head north to Penang Island and later to Lankawi Island further north. If you want to do Perhentian Islands, you may have to go there first, before you embark on the West Coast journey.
Please remember, the Monsoon season that began on the first week of October is in full swing. Have a good umbrella or raincoat handy.Where I live on the West Coast in Perak, we have been getting very heavy rain, lightning and thunder almost daily. Some days it rains "hesitantly" as though in instalments throughout the day and night.

Hi there The Other Side, I really wanna thank both of you for cleaning up the beach..it is worrying when the garbage being dump in the sea or wash away to the sea and later to the beautiful beaches..We have many courses to inculcate awareness about this in Malaysia, even our Royals too have done tremendous campaigns. Hopefully it will bring us to zero garbage on the beaches. Thanks guys..you guys are awesome ❤️

if still stay at jeselton area .. you can take expresss boat. go to labuan island .so much fun ...it will take about 3 hour to get there.

I applaud you for doing this. The caption is very much needed. True, in Asia, most beaches which are publicly accessible are ladened with trash.
It's sad but true! We can't just make a beautiful travel video and act like everything is ok and there is no trash. It's good that people start understanding the consequences...

Kota Kinabalu is having a season right now. In the morning its going to be sunny and it will start raining either in the afternoon or evening.

Went there early October this year. And yes, tonnes of rubbish you can find there. Quite surprising for a tourist attraction like this turning into a thrash island.

tip: just need to walk furthered to the other side of the manukan island and I swear you will found the mount view

Trash in the water is one of the serious problem to deal with here, hard to change thier habits. There's many who live on a island next to manukan island, they always throw rubbish directly to the water. Yea it's beautiful island, just hope they will change thier bad habit. You did a great job bro.

I love the islands in Sabah but I also saw all the trash in the ocean. It's very sad that they don't do something about it. Great work guys. I travel with a mesh din bag ( which I keep my snorkeling gear in) but put trash in while while at the beach.
My team and I done cleaning for many times (swim and dive) until we fed up because of our own people who dont even care about it. Majority mind set mostly like "oh there always be someone to take care of the trashes...so I dont really need to do anything about it" but to be exact It would be much better if everyone take responsibility together...Here im from Sabah and would like to thank you for your video for highlighting the trash issue that been going on for many years until recent. We tried to voice out but sadly get ignore most of the time.

Theres a conservation and research centre there too (I found kinabalu park to be too touristy and not at all educational but this is the real deal) It was easily the most beautiful place I've been too. Hey guys, I'm sabahan..for your info, the Gaya islands u guys pass by is mostly are houses where the illegal immigration live which produce the most trash in the nearby islands and beaches..this was our problem we facing here for many years..
What's up Mr.Bond! Dang that stinks! It's hard to blame one single group of people and I bet it's the tourists too! Everyone needs to work together and just pick up trash and use a little less plastic here and there!

how long are you staying in malaysia? are you guys still coming back to west malaysia? depends on where you are it will be easier to give you food or activity recommendations. if you're still in sabah, "sang nyuk mee" (pork noodle) is a must try. also try teh tarik / teh ais.
We are staying in Borneo for around 20 days! We are headed back to West Malaysia near the end of our trip and are thinking about Langkawi and other islands too!

The thought was legit. Where do the trash go even after they get picked up? That's a very good question. It's a shame really. I grew up in Tanjung Aru. I love Sabah. Just too bad some are too ignorant and stupid that causes a lot of those mess

We don't use chopstick on a plate. It is only use on bowl. So It's always spoon and fork and if it's Western food...it's knife and fork...

Wait till you see morons throwing trash out of their moving cars. Once an epic dumb@$$ threw a burger wrapper of our his car and it just flew directly towards me and worst part was, the wrapper glued itself onto my windshield because there was ketchup on it, completely covering my line of view. I literally had to drive to the side of the road to remove that piece of paper. Some people have totally no sense of civic mindedness or whatsoever. That's why, we Malaysians can never have nice things for public amenities because there will always be morons who will either vandalize them or worse, STEAL THEM!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
