Learn BMX tricks EASILY on a home made trampoline bike!!!

It is next to impossible to buy a trampoline bike in the UK right now... and after Harley had a try of his friend Ezra's Aerosteeze tramp bike he really really wanted one to play on...
... so we made him one!! We bought a Cult 14 second hand and stripped almost everything off it. We left just the frame and the bars... oh... and for some reason we decided to leave the bearings in. Which now rattle around when he bounces because they came loose.
PSA: take the bearings out! They will rattle loose!!! 🤣
Our basic 'how to build a trampoline bike' and specifications:
The ‪@CultCrew‬ Cult 14 inch BMX is a similar size to the aerosteeze 16 inch frame
We cut approx 2 inches off each side of the bars - to help make bar spins a bit easier to learn - after watching the incredible Chii BMX over on Insta.
We removed the cranks, chain, brake and wheels (thanks to the guys at ‪@rampworx‬). The only 'special tool' needed was the chain splitter. Basically: You only need a BMX frame, handlebars and forks
We used pipe lagging from Homebase - 2 sticks left us with spare. And it was fun to beat each other with them. The shopping trip with a 5yr old was emotional.
We used up 1.5 rolls of ASDA own gaffa tape - was cheaper than the name brands and so far a few weeks in seems to be holding up fine.
In terms of weight this build IS heavier than the aerosteeze tramp bike BUT we guess it probably makes it feel closer to the real thing?!
If we could buy an aerosteeze would we? Yeah. Because they're incredible... and we're probs going to have to redo this tape/padding after a few months use. When we do... we're taking out the rattling bearings!!!
***in the video Ryan Williams used a pillow and towels. This would for sure make it softer and probably make the pipe lagging last longer but we felt it would add too much weight for a little rider like Harley to use... and he isn't whipping it round as fast as an adult like R Willy would. For an adult making a trampoline bike I would be using all the padding I can get because I just not bounce like I used to 🤣
