- In tandem with the 40th anniversary of the legendary concert, WCCO dug into its archives to find video footage that hasn't seen the light of day in decades, of Prince debuting "Computer Blue."

If only the new Estate was able to do a great job, all of us fans would have the chance to see this marvelous show in great quality. However, the new ones in charge of preserving Prince Legacy alive are lax.
Yes the footage is obviously there and the fans would love to see it in good quality as possible, im just glad that there are people out there that put it out there from their own collections etc this is one of my favorite concerts, the first time he played Purple Rain and other songs, and love the version of Electric Intercourse

The previous administration sold the rights to this concert and the ability to make a documentary out of the lead up to it - to Apple. Apple owns this footage now. There's nothing the current estate can do about it.

I agree 100% with your comment about how amazingly talented Prince was as a guitar-player...though I will respectfully put forth that most fans of music history are very aware of just how great a guitar player Prince was...though, yes, that somehow occasionally gets overlooked because he was also such an amazing performer, dancer, songwriter, arranger, etc. (Did you ever see/hear Prince perform the guitar solo in George Harrison's WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS at the 2004 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony? I knew someone wouldn't get it. "The Purple Rain" set meaning the infamous set the song was recorded on. Not him performing the actual song. Learn to comprehend what you read.
This was the Purple Rain set. He was debuting new material at First Avenue for a charity event. This was before the movie and the album.
Parts of this show made it to the final record.

Michael Jackson was great but he was just pop music not a real true musician but an entertainer he could sing and dance but not as versatile as prince...the purple one had it all!!

It’s not new but it’s a different angle than what you would see on those circulating First Ave 83’ bootlegs. This is rare.
