I know this an old comment but man... yes, yes, and yes. That bang on the snare is just perfect! Bill Stewarts brilliance to me is built on the suspense in not knowing what the hell he'll do next, lots of fun listening to, a true inspiration!
I bought some sticks with his signature on them. I did not know who he was. So I went to UA-cam, and now he is a favorite drummer of mine. Excellent, brilliant, masterful, musical.
someone needs to post Larry Goldings playing Back in the Day with bill stewart and peter bernstein. even if its just audio. its from his album (larrys) As One
Superb. How he is everytime able to compose such clear melodic solos on the spot is a revelation. Master!
Bill did this all while repeatedly reining in a rogue hi hat stand. Amazing.

Stewart is hands down the most melodic drummer I've ever seen.
one of the best drummer in the world !
Bill is so amazing! I get bored with a lot of drum solos but his are so musical it's crazy.
love you bill, my fav drummer, such an inspiration!!!
This fucking SOLO. Bill fucking Stewart has it, man.

bill stewart is a bloody master. his playing will make or break a drum student
I like the way you hear his stick so clearly from the moment he's starting his solo. (around 1.50)
just great!
Im taking this as a cue to listen more to bill stewart. Hes sensitive, and very original
Bill Stewart makes Iowa alot less boring! His work with the John Scofield / Joe Lovano1990's Quartet is my favorite!
Damn, just listen to the amazing ride!
He's soooo good!
Just amazing
He got huge notch on his right cymbal, and he keep pulling back the hat with his foot so funny
Great very musical solos here!
Man, this is crazy. Bill.. Wow.
Amazing Trio.....
Fantastico.
crazy time, crazy movement
ti amo bill
Um......WOW!!!!!!!!
Number…1!
that's how i want to sound - both the drums and the playing.
Candela en el cañaveral!
The difference between playing with soul .. and just playing

when i first saw this i thought greg kinnear was paying the drums
yep it's not all about screaming round the kit, that was some musical stuff
What's with the video and the audio not synchronizing up? 🤨
1:25 !
Is there a synchronization problem between the audio and video or is it simply my connection?
1:15...
I like those cymbals he is using, anyone know what specific ones?
Tyler Steege idk what cymbals those are, but check out mycymbal.com they got tons of cymbals that are like these if not better
Did someone take a bite out of his ride cymbal ??? Looks like there's a chunk missing
Wow I didn't know Steve Gadd played organ.
Wheres the complete video of this song? It was on youtube but now its not!!!
I haven't seen it on youtube for a while, but it's still on the modern drummer website. Search for Bill Stewart on there and it'll show up.
asf10208 Sorry, I said modern drummer. I meant drummer world. I always get the two mixed up.
Il y a un problème de décalage du son .
@drycomplexity it's sooooo dry!
Does anyone know who composed this tune?
Shane Dahler Sonny Rollins
The sound latency is irritating.
