Hello, as soon as I download it, only the audio can be visible, literally the audio is visible, not the images. I already make sure that te video plays correctly in the Media Window
Hi Tom, Is there a way to have the video looping? Also, the video I have inserted into my indesign file, once exported appears as a black frame to start with, then auto plays. Not sure what I am doing wrong, how can I make sure the video initial frame appears from the start?
I cannot play videos in PDF anymore due to the end of Flash Player. I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro and there is no option to uncheck "use Flash-Player to play 3D and multimedia content" in the preferences under "3D and multimedia". Is there any other option to view videos in a PDF-file?
Hi Philipp, the check box to disable the "use Flash-Player to play 3D and multimedia content" should be located at the very top of the "3D and multimedia" tab in preferences. If this is not there make sure your adobe acrobat pro is fully updated and also make sure the video file you have imported into your pdf is an MP4 not a SWF or FLV. This seems to be a common error and you can check this forum post for more info: indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601021-adobe-indesign-feature-requests/suggestions/38389570-flash-player-should-not-be-required-to-play-non-fl
I am in dire need of creating a PDF file with embedded videos, from InDesign layout. This tutorial no longer works and my system is forcing the use of Flash. How do we get around this?
Hi Wendy, so unfortunately because Flash has now been discontinued you are no longer able to embed videos via indesign. The best option would probably be to have the video clip host online and to have a link to this video in your PDF file. It's an unfortunate work around, but because Flash has come to an end the media in pdfs is now very limited
@@claudioabado3317 For another option, you might check out in5, which will create HTML directly from InDesign and will let you control video. Quick intro: ua-cam.com/video/J39c3cMgqZo/v-deo.html
I hate adobe so much, all their programs are obsolete and flawed, it’s been several days of trying to do this with several of their programs. No kidding they switched off comments on most of their youtube channel tutorials.
None of this works anymore.

How is the audio visible may I ask?
If it is what I get, it is a black box, showing the sound wave of the audio as it plays.@@andrewkarlsson4212

You cannot control that in a PDF: ua-cam.com/video/F89HdXNV1pk/v-deo.html

You're right. This won't work consistently. Please check out: ua-cam.com/video/XW-dvtI6g2U/v-deo.html
Trust document button does not work. I set it to "Trust this document always," the message bar does not disappear, and the video does not play.

@@tombudd15 It seems I'm able to embed videos in InDesignCC 2021 (v16.0) documents. But I have no control on how to play them in the exported PDF.

How to start without Flash?
That is a big problem. I describe it here and suggest an alternative: ua-cam.com/video/XW-dvtI6g2U/v-deo.html
Doesn't work in the browser

How do you "control" playing?
You cannot control playback, and it can be unreliable. More: ua-cam.com/video/F89HdXNV1pk/v-deo.html
