- If you find yourself driving and the engine is overheating and the air conditioning is blowing warm.

Make sure your AC button is pressed to ensure fans are commanded to run. Verify cooling fans in front of radiator are not running. If they are running this is probably not your problem.
Go to engine compartment fuse box.
Verify F8 fuse is 20 AMP will likely be blown. If F8 20 AMP fuse is present this upgrade has not done. F8 needs to be a 30 AMP.
F30 and F31 are 40 AMP they will likely be blown as well.
I quickly checked my relays to make sure none of the terminals were burned up. You can swap them in the event one is faulty. But you probably won't have to go that far.
The fuses are called FMX LP you will need a 30 AMP and (2) 40 AMP fuses. In a emergency and only temporary fix is to pull fuses from your passenger fuse box located under the steering wheel.
Life saver, van started to overheat today just before the Blackwall tunnel London, with an accident. Pulled over to the hard shoulder to find 3 fuses blown with my meter and no fan running and ac blowing warm. Swapped fuses and drove 3 hours no overheating or issues. I salute you.
That's great love to hear those success stories. Please subscribe!!!!
Make sure you replace every radiator hose on the transit before 115 thousand miles if you have the ecoboost!!!!!
Brother I changed the thermostat the fans and still wasn’t cooling all because the stupid fuse and i have replace the fuse with a 20 but nothing replaced with the 30 now is working thank you so much brother
No problem!!!!! Please subscribe it doesn't help me out now but maybe this will go some place.
Brother you save me money time my day god knows what else 😂 thank you thank you !!
Glad I was able to help. If you ever need help with your transit van let me know. I have a bunch of repairs I haven't posted yet. But in the next few weeks I'll be doing rear brakes and rotors not just pads. I will also be eliminating the squeel some transits have when it's cold and in reverse that comes from the pads.. As always please like and subscribe.
Oh they piss me off that the company’s are all like oh a 20 amp will work it won’t be that bad later down the road blows 3 fuses that causes the ac not to work what the hell. Thank you for the video.
No problem!!!
Hi mate thanks for the video. In the UK with a similar issue. Can I please ask where you got the info from that the 20A should be swapped for a 30A?
From Ford.
That helped Thanks 🙏
Thanks so much for the feedback! Please like & subscribe so the video can be found by more people.
Our Transit relays (r-15 and r-18 on this video) were overheating and burning out; one van actually was buning where the relay was inserted. You can see the gray relay's brownish overheat marks clearly on the top. We replaced those that have the burning marks and all fans then worked properly. Maybe this is only in Las Vegas where the temp is 110 during this summer.
The one relay is super expensive, too! Not sure why your relays burned up. Was this after the fuses were upgraded?
Happens in the UK too...
Thanks Brotha! I’m lookin at getting a “new” used 2015 where the guy states it’s having overheating issues, and listing it low for that reason. Hoping this is going to be a great easy fix. How many miles do ya have on your 2017?
I don't recall offhand
The relays are probably good just the fuses
Do you have an update with your used transit???
Q.- My 2016 bring my attention that the Fuses configuration are slightly different that yours. Also manual or handbook bring me the info in another pages. By the way mine just have 1 30 amps no 20’s and the two 40’ all in good condition. No idea if relays are the issue. Can’t test them. The one similar to the fan controls is the horn and as soon you disconnect it, horn started sound very loud. I try to swap them see if works. No a/c no fans working, so overheating is immediately. Check engine lights also on all times. What is your thoughts?
Is your transit a 350 XLT?
Have you pulled the codes?
Just off hand. Pull up the service bulletin that i gave make sure your transit falls within those parameters. Those fuses are really hard to tell if they are blown. Id start by pulling the check engine light codes. Some cars deactivate the AC i believe chevy does this when certain codes are set. So pull the codes for sure. I'd unplug the fans and send them 12 volts power and see if they run. Than id see if you have 12 volts power at the connectors and grounds. I don't have a wire diagram for the fan connector pins but that would help. But i will tell you i didn't think my fuses were blown but they were.
Let me know if this helps you.
hi there i wonder so now your radiator fan is working? Because i want to try replacement the fuse and relay same as you.
I got noticed my radiator fan , 2015 ford transit 350 xlt not working. I was about to replace the fan but i have your video and will check fuse and relay.
Yup check the fuses all 3 of them. The relays are probably ok not to mention expensive. The fuses are not easy to get out so use a needle nose. If my video helped out please like and subscribe I'll add more videos!
PS I purchased the relays and kept them as spares since they were fine. The one relay is really expensive. If your fuse is labeled 20 amps that's most likely your problem. You want to see a 30 amp and two 40 amp fuses. If you have any other questions let me know
Was it your fuse a 20 AMP?
Am I reading my manual wrong or did you point at the wrong f8? I think you are pointing at f18 and f8 is the one below it
It's the middle on the left side. I can double check if you still have questions. I have fat fingers.
Ok. Thanks
Let me know how you make out
How can I send you a pic of the fuses?
Like a picture of the type of fuse?
Yes 👍
That's great! It took me forever to figure it out! Please like the video and subscribe! I have more Transit repairs coming
Is the one under the hood.
Yes
I'm stuck...in the hood...help lol
I suggest running west.
Hi. My van don have f42
Are you sure you are at the right fuse box?
My van is 2015 350 xtl
Make sure you are at the engine fuse box under the hood kf the car
I did tanks
Did that solve your problem?
