I lived 15 minutes from laguna seca raceway in Monterey California. As a kid in the late 60's to the end of the series I watched these cars run. Mclaren's, jim halls chaparral. Great time.

That Lola is also badass.. even with the advanced aerodynamic, both cars must have been a handful

@Nicholas Baindbridge: He drove it at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2009.
Back then this March had the body (longer nose) of the 707. After that it was converted back to the original 717 look, like in this video.

Hilborn injected aluminum BBC with straight pipes - Mmmmm ! Can sure tell the V8s from the V12s and Flat 12s when they go by. Thanks!

Those Big Bang Chevy V8's are my favorite. The McClaren M6's, M8's and M20 were fast as friggin hell.

This unit was the same of 86 that can achieve 1500 hp, infact It would have been tested with Momo Moretti years later and proving successful

But the green Lola T292 kicks everybody’s butt because it has a 3 liter Cosworth F1 engine.

They used to race CanAm a fair bit at Mosport where i took hundreds of photos in the 70's and 80's. It still bugs me that I never did get there for a CanAm event.
The closest I got to these was my 1/32 scale Chaparral slot car when I was 13. I still miss that too :)
BTW, how can a gomer title this video and not spell CanAm correctly with capital C, capital A? This must be the guy that writes the news articles about Nato and Nasa.

I used to marshal races at Mosport back in the day. CanAm races were the best. Loved to watch Bruce Mclaren and Denny Hume destroy the field and then after the race walk the pits and sell upgrades to their competitors. Both of those guys were very friendly and fun to be around. John Cordts (not sure on spelling) was an excellent driver always wondered why he never got a good sponsor ride. Steve O

I’ll take that kind of guy (who is also providing the very content you criticize) over the kind who craps on a title oversight from afar.
