Man, Samsung Pay can be used almost anywhere. Even when they tell you "Sorry our system cant accept that .." Boom..I already put it near the machine and the cashier looks surprised it worked. Really cool.
Richard Laguardia Yeah I have the same reaction from cashiers. I love the shock and surprise look on their faces when Samsung Pay works. 😂😂😂😂😂
Richard Laguardia the cashier is probably apple sheep
Ha ha all the freaking time. That face a cashier makes, makes me want to buy more crap that I don't need just to see it lol.
I walk inside a old store, exhausted from work I pick my product. As the cashier passed the barcode to the laser, i got ready to use my Samsung Pay. It is one of the latest and greatest technologies. I already can see the cost of the product, as im about to take out my phone the cashier smiled and stated “Sorry it doesn’t accept mobile payment”. I was looking the cashier in the eyes. “Try me”. I Swiftly take out my Samsung S9 and pay for my item, surely i know the cashier was impressed, but for me was nothing new. “Wow how did you payed for it!?”. I gently tuck my Samsung S9 onto my pocket, and looked at the cashier. “Oh that, pfff, thats nothing new Kid” I was sure i made the cashier moist with my amazing technological device. My time was running out, i pick up the bag and walk out of the store. I felt proud, happy for proving someone wrong yet again, as I put my Shades and drive.
Richard Laguardia I get the people (usually Target) who think Samsung Pay and "Android Pay" are synonymous and that my Google Pixel should work when in reality their terminal doesn't support NFC 😒...
In Australia literally no one swipes their card anymore. NFC is huge, I use my Apple Watch to Pay all the time and sometimes I tap my card not swipe it using pay pass or pay wave, literally every terminal has nfc.
I fuckin love being an Aussie
No one swipes cards anymore outside the US. In some regions such as Europe or Australia, NFC is ubiquitous, and in others such as Mexico and other parts of Hispanic America chip is already the standard, but magnetic stripes are part of the past in most of the world outside the US.

Even if Samsung Pay comes up as "Card Read Error" or something similar, it will *always* work when tapping a second or third time. Plus, something not mentioned in this video is that Samsung Pay gives points for each purchase, which lead to rewards like instant wins, gift cards, & much more. ONE LAST THING: the Gear S3 Frontier & Classic watches (which can operate Samsung Pay themselves) are compatible with Android phones from other manufacturers as well as all generations of the iPhone released over the last three years.
Bottom line: Samsung Pay is by far *the* *best* electronic payment system.
Warning: incomplete transactions on Samsung pay leave that “token” available for 24 hours. If the token were to be intercepted during transmission, it could be reused. The caveat is it could only be intercepted by someone that is standing physically right next to you using an obvious electronic device. The point is whenever you experience an incomplete transaction immediately close the Samsung pay app and clear your devices memory via the device manager. Better safe than sorry.

Samsung pay seems to be way better, but here in sweden every terminal is NFC so no issues for me and my Pixel 3 XL
If Samsung Pay doesn't work, the shop is doing something wrong. It's literally read as a credit card. The reader doesn't know the difference. It gets the magnetic signal and voila. If it didn't work, they're pressing the wrong button or keying it in wrong. I've had that happen a few times, I was persistent that it should work, to try it again as credit, and it worked. Your lack of persistence shouldn't have any effect on whether or not you think it's good. I've used mine everywhere, been told 1000 times it's not going to work. I've always walked out with the bill paid.
It won't work if you have to insert the card. Only works for swipe payments.
@@taydinghan00 and NFC just like the others .
I totally second Jacob here. My experience is exactly the same. Most of US citizens buy iPhones soooooo blindly that they have no clue what other phones like Samsung have to offer (which in my opinion is faaaaaaar better than iPhones). For instance they have no clue what Samsung pay is and the moment you say "I'll pay thru Samsung Pay" they'll bring up the screen on their terminal which is used for manually keying in the credit card number, obviously Samsung Pay will not work when their system is in manual entry mode. I've to repeatedly tell them to act as if I'm swiping my physical card and then let me use my phone when it's time to swipe the card. Finally they understand that its exactly similar to physical credit card swipe as far as they are concerned and are amazed when the bill prints out.
I used a self pay machine at a Lowes and my Samsung pay didnt work. I then tried with the teller (not sure exactly what her screen said but we tried debit and credit) and still no dice. It's worked EVERY other time tho, I have a feeling it was just a freak thing.
I hear you but not everyone likes confrontation enough to be "persistent". You put up with crap all day at work and home; who wants to argue with a clerk making $12/hr? It's perfectly reasonable to factor that into any comparison even if it's not Samsung's fault per se.

I use Samsung Pay. Having MST is what truly sets it apart especially for as long as the majority of merchants don't have NFC. I will add though that Samsung Pay does not usually work at card terminals where you insert your card instead of swiping. But there is a trick where you can insert a dummy card which will trigger the terminal to start reading magnetic information which then you can hold your Samsung device up to the terminal. I do this all the time at gas stalls to make sure my CC information never gets skimmed.
If you lost your card, you should cancel it. Fast.
Just memorizing the numbers and let it go is probably the worst thing you can do when losing a credit card...

I was actually changing over to Google wallet from Samsung pay when this video was recommend to me. This was very useful
I've been using Google Pay in Australia with my S7 Edge for an entire year and haven't found one terminal that doesn't support it. I've literally been in the middle of remote country-side towns and never found it not to work. Same story with Apple Pay I'd suppose as they both use NFC. Been great so far, amazing to see the US so behind here.
It's a strategy from Apple to convince Samsung users to switch to the Apple ecosystem which is stupid, but hey its for customer attraction.
Sooooo Samsung pay doesn't work on iPads... Go figure 🙃
why tf are you paying for stuff with a ipad? Same goes the otherway, Apple pay doesn't work on anything but apple devices.
because she mention Samsung pay works 99% of the time and only one time it doesn't work, and she said ipad based system lol
Ya know, I've used Samsung Pay to buy things at the Apple Store ;) In the 1% of cases it doesn't work, it's not the fact that it's an iPad, it's that the system running the payment system doesn't work with MST.
the lady on the right is such a iSheep
no she's not she has just been locked in by apple and has not been able to try anything else. that's not her fault.
Great job ladies... Very informative
3:29 what do you mean
If ur pressing continue and confirm purchase that means ur buying it.
I’m sorry that’s just stupid
The missing security is worse than stupid. Means that if someone steals the phone from your hand (ot if it has got a bad security like face unlock) they can turn off screen/phone time out and shop away untill you lock down the phone remotely...but since your phone is stolen that can take some expensive time, ESPECIALLY if you are abroad (where the risk csn be a lot higher for theft depending on where you travel)
@@bigbadboogie6842 if anyone steals a card you could just call the bank and they will block it out.
It’s not stupid. Any thief can press continue if they were to go on a online retailer and use your info. Having any sort of security measure is smart including Face ID which works really well. (Not sure what the other guy is talking about)
@@bigbadboogie6842 what's the difference from using a bank card? In Australia we can spend $100 without using pin code or inserting the card you just tap it like the phone. So you can literally take anyone's card and spend as much as you want as long as each purchase is under $100
@@bigbadboogie6842 just call the bank and block the card
I have a BPay loop that fits onto my Ticwatch E strap, it works for all contactless terminals and doesn't need charging. My wallet is almost permanently at home these days.
For the machines that require you to insert your card (like a gas station pump), just insert a card with the strip on the wrong side, while holding your Samsung Pay device up close to the reader. All you're doing is activating the strip reader, which detects your phone.
Good to know, will have to try that -- then again, does kind of defeat the purpose of having just the phone with you!
yeah, but you get your .5 pt for the transaction.
Cool tip. I want to try it
Or just go inside to the cashier and use your Samsung Pay at the terminal. We've gotten so lazy! Although I would be interested to try your method.
@@runegeezy Just because you don't want to go inside doesn't make you lazy lol There could be a big crowd in the store you just want to avoid or don't have time for... No judgement.
Thnk you, most helpful.
One thing i love of Samsung pay you get points and you can get spend them on themes fonts and other on Galaxy store
Samsung Pay For Sure 😎
Samsung Pay all the way 👍👍
Anas Adani we indians hate iphone yeah
@@hairstuff371 Lol
🖕
Josh Mole ???
Nope apple pay
I love the idea on all of them, and I will plan on giving it a try but I'm still worried about the security.
*5:51** star trek Starfleet command wallpaper is on the (presumably) iPhone X screen during the NFC payment test. Definitely "made my day" experience for a Trekkie.🖖*
I use samsung pay regularly and throw off vendors all the time when it works .... Bloop !!😜😜😂😂😂 Love my Note 8 works at more vendors ...
Mark Clarke happens to me every time. They say it doesn't work, then it works
Haha... Same here... Then there are those iPhone zombies behind me who try and use it... Feels good telling them their iPhone won't work only Samsung... 😂😂😂
Mark Clarke I cant wait till I get credit card and be the only one able to use it since Apple pay sucks compared to Samsung Pay.
Is 100% true I have a Apple phone and I couldn't buy in some place because of that I switch to Samsung phone and I NEVER have a issue that I cannot pay. AWESOEM LOVE Samsung Pay.
Going to set up samsung pay on my s10e right now lol. Touch to pay is very common in Australia where I live
I went into a public library in the heart of Silicon Valley, wanted to buy a book from the used book sale section, but they would not take any kind of card or electronic payment. (You could pay overdue fines electronically, however.)
Samsung pay works everywhere
Samsung pay
You picked products, put them in your cart, continued to checkout, selected confirm order and then decided to you didn’t want the product? Lmao wtf?
How is that Googles fault exactly?
Right?......DUH!
Everytime I think of your comment, I "lmao".
Not many would have picked up on that.
Exactly what I thought.... Stupid comment from her
I was thinking the same thing!!!
🤣🤣🤣
In Turkey, we dont have any of these payment systems but we do have nfc payment on literally every single pos device. Our banks provide the contactless mobile payment option in the online banking app. I'd definetely prefer using Gpay or Samsung Pay but this works too, I guess.
Samsung Pay. I've only had a very small percentage of places where it doesn't work, like the liquor store 😂 Their credit card terminal seems to have a really high "lip" that doesn't allow the phone to get close enough.
Great video. Do note than, on iPads, apple pay is only available for online purchases but not for in-store purchases.
Also, the beauty of these services is that they can be used virtually anywhere contactless payment can be found (and everywhere else for Samsung Pay). This includes merchants in unsupported countries. In my case, for example, I have been using apple pay for two years in both the US (supported country) and Mexico (unsupported country) anywhere nfc contactless payment is accepted.
1 year later..., Apple Pay is in a lot more places and mostly everywhere where it counts here in my small hometown. Now the only time I’ve had problems with Apple Pay not working is when the business’ card reader thingy isn’t working at all.
I want an update one...thank you!!
SamsungPay!
Who else uses PayPal to pay friends?
i use paypal all the time, samsung pay lets u link a paypal card too.
love it. I've even used my samsung pay watch at a gas station pump not ready for mobile payments by swiping my driver's license and quickly putting the watch signal to the card reader lol. Awesomeness.
Me me me!
me:)
tmn36 I hate the fees for sending money though
has it need any fee when to pay friends by paypal???
Here in Germany Samsung Pay isn't an option, because using the magnetic strip on the credit card is considered outdated. The golden chip on the front is much safer. So shops here have the technology for the chip, not for the magnetic strip. Luckily paying via NFC gets established more and more. I just found out about Android Pay when I saw an option for it in my PayPal App today. I can't wait to use it for the first time...
