Very interesting video she did, I had never seen how a pickup was made. Everyone should watch.
The tip of the headstock still isn't perfectly round. It is still a little oval where the "beak" used to be. I would sand it some more and use some higher grit to finish it. The surface still looks a little rough.

I was watching my nieces and nephews for an evening, which is a lot for me to handle - thankfully they mostly cooperated, lol. It was impossible to hang out during the live show with four kids under age four here with me. The baby kept smashing the phone screen keyboard, lol. @2:15 THAT is EXACTLY the point. These easy-on-the-budget guitars have good necks on them, and are more than worth the investment. I've bought 2 of them and wasn't disappointed with either! And the next guy that tries to tell me about "tone wood" on a solid body guitar is gonna catch one in the head!

Maybe convert the bridge to a string thru from the top loader it is before you have Trey demo it live.? That one last mod. Honestly from the audio it sounded just fine as a top loader bridge.

My Dawn laid her peepers on me the very first time over 40 years ago when my band was performing in a little Southern Ontario town she was from called Beeton! She told her sister and their two friends she was gonna marry me and they all laughed their asses off. She basically found out we had a mutual friend, which was fluky as I was from Toronto and had just moved North to a different small town North of where she was from, then she pretty much stocked me and two years later we were married! LOL!
We've been married 40 years as of March 1st. I had a daughter when we met, and we have three sons the eldest is 38 which is weird because Dawn claims to be 20!! OH!
Anyway, I do dig the channel!!

I have a black Indio Tele and I was surprised how good it was for such a little bit of 💵!! I did put a bridge hot rail pickup in it for my own personal taste (punk/metal/hc). I don’t have a problem with the headstock shape. I think it looks fine and better than some other Tele knockoff guitars I’ve seen!😳

I ordered a Leo Jamz Tele. Suppose to be here tomorrow, It's gonna get some of that treatment. I love the headstock mod but it needed a "Scarred decal", IMO.

Hey Sean, one little trick that's rather simple and can add a bit more sustain to the guitar is to loosen the bolts on the neck just a little bit, while the strings are up to pitch. What this will do is seat the neck deep into that pocket and assure a really solid connection. Tighten those screws back up and your neck is SET! BTW, I like the head stock adjustment. I can't stand some of these goofy headstocks out there - not that the tele shape will win any prizes, but it sure beats an Indio all day long! You can't beat a classic. Thanks for the share!!

You can sometimes find sockets with thinner walls, in the tool bargin bin, where they are part of a screwdriver/ socket-driver set. Ultra cheap, but good enough to tighten an input jack.

Sean, To tighten the output jack to the plate I use a box spanner. Thinner than a socket and much better than pliers. Hope that helps.

I have three (budget) "Teles" I bought from Amazon and eBay. The two Amazon buys are a peach-colored Glarry with an F hole and a white pearloid pickguard. Maple neck. The other Amazon buy is seafoam green LyxPro with white pickguard and a rosewood board. The third is from eBay and is a gold metalflake Cozart, black pickguard and rosewood board.
I put the Seymour Duncan Hot Tele pickups on the Glarry and the Cozart, and a set of Guitarheads "Super Twangs on the LyxPro.
A little TLC, time, and some upgraded parts and you have a really nice playing guitar that are totally gig worthy.
Next acquisition I'm going to grab a set of Cathy's pickups. They really do sound nice even with all of that UA-cam compression.
19:59 I believe that control plate is series /parallel option..I have one and it's a great deal on eBay...I did the same to my Indio headstock..👍i forgot to mention that switch only works in middle position.... sounds great man..

That gets you to the sound of the original Fender teles.

Well done, great sounding pickups. I noticed that you kept the original nut on the guitar would a low friction or a bone nut make much difference in the sound?
I bought one of these and put a set of fleor pickups in it, chinese-ium full sized pots and a bone nut. Just modified the body today to have an arm cutaway and a belly cut. Very fun guitar. I only have about $150 invested. The next thing is grover tuners. I had a squier tele and hated that guitar. The neck on this thing is the perfect size and it just feels solid.
Hey Sean is it even remotely possible to fix the Glarry?? I bought a Tele sunburst from them and it came with a cracked body that was done at the factory or behind someone’s house where they made it anyway the crack was done and they just went ahead and put the finish over the top of it 😂😂😂😂

Cheers! Love your show, great stuff and great job. I just built a Tele-clone similar to your Indio. Weighs in at 6 pounds with a Newtechcity paulownia body and a Kmise14" radius maple/maple neck. Grounded all the cavities and pickguard with copper foil. Used Guitar Madness 62z 5.6K Strat neck and Guitar Madness Tele Standard 7.1K Bridge, Greenten bone nut, Jin-Ho locking tuners, Guitar Madness 6-saddle bridge, Xstore through body to ferrule bushing plate, Kingdomuck 4-way control plate like yours, and my custom oil finish. Best playing and sounding Tele I have ever owned, and I've been building guitars since 1993.

Good work Shawn and Cathy. I was wondering if some of the Single Coil Pickups you replace on the inexpensive guitars could be converted into "Dummy Coils" to act in concert with a regular Single Coil, thus creating a Humbucker to rid of noise?

is that push-pull putting it in series sorta like a humbucker? kinda like the 4way switch?
You should add a 4-way switch to this guitar. I think it's a mod that should be on every Tele. Running the pickups in series give you an extra tone. At the very least it would be a cool mod to show your viewers on a future guitar. It's cheap and fairly easy to do.
Sean, I always enjoy the videos. But I wish you would show how you set up the guitar. Adjust the saddles, intonation and string height , pickup height etc. I think many would be interested,

I don't like the stock telecaster headstock as much as the offset headstock. I think because it's too close to a standard telecaster headstock, so the "beak" looks out of place. But the offset was more like a strat headstock, so the "beak" looked fine.

Pao ferro is within the rosewood family of trees and wood. Calling it rosewood is an accurate representation of what it is. Kind of like white and black limba is part of the ebony category. It isnt decieving, its accurate.
