As it turns out, this wasn't the actual Sanremo performance but from Domenica In Speciale Sanremo. It has the word Sanremo and it and it's live so close enough I suppose :D
This is absolutely incredible in any single way, Italy is special in this every single year, they dont try and they do good, that´s the key. I love this song so so much
In fact, one of the reasons why Italy always makes good placings at Eurovision is precisely authenticity ! Because the songs that are taken to the Sanremo festival are made for Sanremo, for Italy and not with Eurovision in mind. Winning the Sanremo festival for an Italian artist is the high point of his career. The fact that this then automatically leads to participation in Eurovision, this let's say is just a "side effect". The even international careers in the past of many famous Italian artists around the world (just a few examples... Andrea Bocelli, Laura Pausini, Eros Ramazzotti... etc.), started precisely with winning Sanremo. In other countries (such as, for example, here in Germany), on the other hand, they have singing events exclusively to choose the singer, the song to take to Eurovision.
The lady sitting on the stairs was the host, Mara Venier. This was Domenica In, the Sunday show which, on the Sanremo week, is completely devoted to the festival. Like everything else in the country. She was probably starting a live Instagram story about it.
@@ESCunited Search older performances from tuesday to saturday. This one was from this afternoon. It's the show they do on sunday afternoon, always in Ariston Theatre in Sanremo but with playback vocals and music, and no orchestra.

Yeah, but I bet Greece and Ciprus will assign 12 points to each other, as well as Scandinavian country. Then I have to see San Marino and Malta giving 0 points to Italy and so on
I think Marco Mengoni is a very shy and reserved person and this is why he seldom looks into the camera and doesn't immediately connect with the public. This year his management went for the "sexy stud look" and Marco is handsome enough to pull it off but his shyness is getting in the way.
I have grown to love this song and this performer. Obviously not as strong as Brividi since that song is my all-time favorite eurovision song ever. This is definitely top 5 for me. Starts off slow and then builds and builds brilliantly!

(even if the finale decision was for Mengoni) .. I would suggest to u to listen to the second scored song.. called Cenere by Lazza.. I loved it 💕
Thanks for your video. Here it was the day after the victory in Sanremo, where unfortunately there is the self-centered and unprofessional presenter who gets behind with the mobile phone ruining the performance. When he sang during the Festival with the live orchestra it was even more exciting and had more rapport with the camera. Marco is the most beautiful male voice we have in Italy, he is known as a very sweet, sensitive and emotional guy, which makes him even more special. During the Festival he had a fever and sinusitis, despite this he sang wonderfully! ❤️ What you said about the relationship between Sanremo and Eurovision is true. The songs presented in Sanremo are meant to be the best Italian song and not for Eurovision, where a different style often prevails, but this is real music and it could still win. The song is about the inner conflict we all struggle with, that's why he feels the song very much in his heart while singing it. The text speaks of two parts of the same person, the conscious and the unconscious that talk to each other, the life of dreams that collides with that of reality. Truly a deep and emotional meaning, a beautiful music that together with the text take the audience into a dreamlike scenario. Furthermore Marco is an excellent interpreter, this makes the difference and makes this song perfect, because he transmits all the emotions to the audience that watches and listens to him, even to a foreign audience that does not understand the Italian language and this says everything about what a great artist is Marco.
Mengoni satisfied the Sanremo audience with this song but for Esc he said that he is thinking if changing it he has until March to think about it for Esc I loved one of his latest songs no stress
I love this almost as much as I did "Fai Rumore". I worry that they might chop it off badly because of the extra 45 sec. Let's hope not. In terms of ballads -- we have almost half of all the songs and there is only 1 other ballad (Estonia) so far. And that may stay in the SF because of the televote only.
Luckily out of the 3:45 it's just 3:30 because the last 15 seconds are just the melody fading. So it's almost the same length of "Non mi avete fatto niente" (2018) or "Brividi"

Not by chance, Depeche Mode maxe their TV return in the final. Are there many countries where the audience is singing a song after less than a week? This is just superb, whatever the criteria. By now, it's a tie for me, between Italy and Spain.
I have heard from Italian press and Italian TV interviews, Mengoni was still open to choose another song for Eurovision, rather than sending Due Vite for Eurovision. Is there still any possibility for this because many fans are downvoting this nice song :/
Marco stated in an interview today that he might change the song. I hope he doesn't but he's going to discuss it with his band whether he's going with Due Vite or not. They have to cut off 45 seconds and I think that's his main reason to consider changing the song. I hope he goes with Due Vite since it will probably do very well at the contest

ANOTHER WASTED OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE FOREIGNERS’ PERSPECTIVE ABOUT ITALY. Cenere by Lazza was a much better choice, as much as many other brilliant Sanremo songs. It has a BOMB of a production by Dardust, and it’s obviously 10 times more anjoyabme than Due Vite. Elodie and Madame were not bad picks, too . I totally respect and admire Marco, but this is just another basic ballad with no production at all. We are the “pizza mafia slow ballads country” according to the European audience, we could show them it is not true at all but we just don’t care much about that. The song we send to ESC should be INDEPENDENT from Sanremo, because press boomers always vote for outdated tunes!
Italians listen to all kind of music all year, then when Sanremo comes they suddenly become fans of tradition…that makes no sense and only ruins our image all over europe.
